AURIC Cosmetics is a new brand launched by influencer Samantha Ravndahl (who is also a personal friend of mine), which launches officially on January 26th at 9AM PT. The launch includes seven shades of Glow Lust, a liquid luminizer designed to be mixed in with moisturizer/foundation or applied over base products as a highlighter, and three Smoke Reflect eyeshadow duos, which each include a sparkly, powder-based top coat and a cream eyeshadow. Here are swatches of all the products launching!

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

We have similar skin tones and I think I’m going to wait on this product and just get the Smoke Reflects. Now that I’ve seen swatches of the Glow Lust I feel like they’re just going to be too warm for me. Originally, based off of Sam’s video, I was thinking Morganite but it just looks WAY too warm now… Selenite looks a little more neutral but when I enlarge the swatch it’s too peachy. =\ The tones might not have any effect on the foundations you mix them into, but it’s too $ for me to risk it right now. I’ll wait for reviews on those. I know I’ll love the Smoke Reflects. Overall, I’m SUPER excited for her line and already can’t wait to see what else she has for us. =D

I am very excited about her launch. I have enjoyed watching Sam’s YouTube videos for years and am looking forward to trying out her products! I hope she recreates a Warm Soul blush dupe in a future launch as, I too, am sad that it was discontinued.

I will look forward to your review! It’s interesting that she described the lightest tone of the highlight to be cool-toned in her video, but your assessment is that it’s very warm. Saves me some money because I’m not sure how it would work on my skintone. I am probably going to pick up Ego…it’s gorgeous!

I am very excited for the cream/powder shadow duos. I’m slightly disappointed that they are already shrinking in the pots. I’ve been burned in the past with Chanel cream shadows drying up too quickly. I might have to wait this one out.

I’ve been SO incredibly excited for this ever since Sam announced that she was launching a beauty brand. Everything is stunning and I expected nothing less from Sam. I knew she would come out with high quality products. If I wasn’t on a no-buy I would definitely be picking up 2 of the smoke reflects. I really want the glow lust but unfortunately my complexion is “pink ghost” so the lightest shade will still probably be too dark for me and would look yellow or orange on me. I’m sure she will release more shades in the future and if she comes out with a fair cool toned shade I will 100% be purchasing. So happy for Sam!! She deserves all of the success.

I really like the olive tones of Pyrite – it is more green than the comparable Charlotte Tilbury HFF in 4! I wish Ego was a more cool toned silver. Defiance seems interesting but I may just go with the proven TF formula instead for a bit more sparkle and impact.

Curious to hear your reviews Christine! Do you often review products by individuals with whom you are friends and do you find that the process is different in any way? I trust you as the most impartial and fair beauty reviewer period so this is not a criticism – I am just curious about your thoughts!

I think this is the first – like I have talked with and had interactions with brand owners over the years, but not to the point where I’d say we’re genuinely friends beyond an industry-level/colleague-level, if that makes sense!

We implemented a special brand-only disclaimer for Sydney Grace last year, after I announced the collab, and on Monday, when my developer gets in, he’ll be doing a special one for all AURIC posts (which just discloses that I am friends with the owner). Because Sam’s a friend, I know that 1) I could simply not review and she wouldn’t hold it against me, and 2) she knows if I review, I will review it as I would any other product, so she sent product knowing exactly who I am/what I do and that if anything, I’d probably look more critically at her products in an attempt to overcome any potential bias!

I too like the olive tone of Pyrite. I find most glowly add-ins sway my skintone in a direction which renders the results too pink, too peach, or too orange to be compatible with the rest of my body. Consequently, I avoid them. Pyrite may be too dark for my complexion, but that can be remedied easily enough. I’d far rather have something working with my u/t than against it.

This is the most interesting influencer brand launch I’ve seen in a while. Kudos to Samantha for the range of illuminaty products and also for coming out with products that are interesting and also which should have wide appeal.

I’m wondering how similar the Glow Lust is compared to Charlotte’s Flawless Filter. I noticed the ingredient lists are very similar. The Tarte Shape Tape Glow Wand also shares a similar formula to the Flawless Filter and achieves a similar look on the face. I have a couple different shades in both formulas.

Hello! Do we know the comparison between Glow Lust and Glossier’s Future Dew? I would love to try Sam’s line over Glossier, but want to know if the products are similar in effect and dry down (as I have oily skin).

Who else is an OG Sam fan here?! SO EXCITING!!! AHH!!

I’ll withhold my enthusiasm for the liquid face products until I’ve seen an ingredients label, but the eye duos look nice. I like her idea of the brand as cruelty-free luxury. Like I suspect many of your readers, I have so much makeup that at this point I’m pickier about what comes in to my house. I like luxury, but I don’t like paying an exorbitant price tag for what is ultimately a cheaply formulated “junk” product. I want nice packaging. I want a nice formula. I want multidimensional colors. I want recyclable/reusable/minimal waste packaging.

Comparing the ingredients list with CT’s Hollywood Flawless Filter… left me with some thoughts. I like the packaging better than HFF and would gladly pick this up, if I wasn’t in Europe and obliged to pay import tax+customs fee (for, ironically, EU made products). If she ever starts selling these on CultBeauty or similar… then I will consider it.

I agree on the more and more common oddity of having to buy stuff made in the EU from the US with added taxes and custom fees…

I also feel there are very strong similarities to the Charlotte Tilbury products both the highlighter and the eye shadows. The eye shadows have a very strong resemblance to the Tom Ford double ones too.
None of it is however surprising as Sam has showed love for both those products. But there might be a risk that unless they are truly awesome in a way that can compete with TF and CT then there is a small risk that her line will have a hard time competing with those two giants as the price points are not that different either…

Will hope for the best for her though as she is a more interesting influencer compared to most out there. And have ordered from her site both to support but also to be able to make up my own mind.
