Anastasia Vamp, Venom, Bordeaux Lip Glosses Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Anastasia Vamp, Venom, Bordeaux Lip Glosses
Anastasia Vamp Lip Gloss ($16.00 for 0.16 fl. oz.) is a slightly muted, medium-dark reddish-burgundy with subtle, warm undertones and a cream finish. The coverage was semi-opaque, and a second layer might give you better coverage, but the consistency is most comfortable with just one layer in my experience. It felt lightweight, moderately hydrating, and sat well on the lips over the five hours it lasted. Anastasia Bordeaux (-, $16.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer (90% similar). NARS No. 675 (LE, $26.00) is warmer (90% similar). NARS Deviant (P, $26.00) is darker (85% similar). Giorgio Armani #200 Night Berry (P, $38.00) is warmer (85% similar). Chanel Controversy (72) (P, $32.00) is warmer (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Anastasia Venom Lip Gloss ($16.00 for 0.16 fl. oz.) is a deep, reddish-burgundy with fuchsia and violet pearl. It had semi-opaque color coverage that applied evenly, but I did have issues with some of the color gathering and darkening my lip lines. I don’t think it’s too noticeable from a normal viewing distance, and the lack of streaking did make it better than some alternatives I’ve tried. The color lasted for six hours and was really hydrating over time. Anastasia Potion (-, $16.00) is less shimmery, more muted, cooler (90% similar). Christian Louboutin Beaute Casanovella (P, $85.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). MAC With Gusto (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery, cooler (90% similar). MAC Lasting Achievement (DC, $19.50) is less shimmery, more muted (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Anastasia Bordeaux Lip Gloss ($16.00 for 0.16 fl. oz.) is a medium-dark brick red with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, where a bit of the natural lip color peeked through. The texture was lightweight, mostly non-sticky, and comfortable to wear over the six hours the gloss lasted. The color applied evenly and smoothly with little effort. Giorgio Armani #200 Night Berry (P, $38.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). NARS No. 675 (LE, $26.00) is darker, more muted (95% similar). Anastasia Vamp (-, $16.00) is darker, more muted, cooler (90% similar). NARS Special Force (LE, $28.00) is lighter, brighter (80% similar). NARS Deviant (P, $26.00) is darker, cooler (80% similar). MAC Viva Glam I (LE, $21.00) is lighter, warmer (80% similar). MAC Ready to Roam (LE, $21.00) is more shimmery, lighter, brighter (80% similar). Urban Decay Brickhouse (DC, $26.00) is lighter, brighter (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
FORMULA OVERVIEW | Anastasia Lip Gloss ($16.00 for 0.16 fl. oz.) is supposed to be “opaque” with “high-shine” that’s “non-drying.” It is one of the more pigmented lipglosses out there that has a smoother, more cushion-y consistency that typically spreads well across the lips. Some shades gather in lip lines, and some shades apply streaky; it seems more common with lighter shades and milkier colors. The formula is non-sticky initially and develops slight tackiness over time. My experience from wearing the formula is that they are often lightly to moderately hydrating and wear three to five hours. They have a vanilla scent that isn’t too overpowering nor does it linger once applied (I notice it mostly in the tube).

Oh my goodness, this is certainly testing my no buy on glosses! Beautiful colors, well done
Awww!
YAY! Thanks for the review. These 3 have been in my Ulta “Fav” list forever! I’m waiting for a good promo to scoop them up. I was considering getting their credit card for the 20% discount, but I want to wait until I have a huge list and a lot of points so I can get my order for free. I’m thinking maybe September since I most likely wouldn’t wear the shades until closer to Fall.
No problem, Michele!
I love ABH lip glosses, they are my holy grail of lip gloss however I am not a big fan of the glitter. I have both Vamp and Venom. The glittery-ness in venom annoys me and I can feel the grit which I think is mostly mental as I know there’s glitter in it so it’s all I feel. lol
lol, aww!! I don’t notice the shimmer in it myself, but I have felt glitter in other glosses and know the feeling (and it’s annoying for sure!).
All 3 are really quite lovely, but Vamp and Venom are my kind of shades! Especially for autumn and winter. Venom’s shimmer is beautiful and rich!
I love the shimmer in Venom!
Venom is very very cool. but I wish it were a lipstick rather than a gloss.
I wonder if ABH will ever do regular lipsticks.
I believe I saw an instagram post earlier this year of ABH and a black and white photo of lipstick tubes. Not so sure of it but i swear I did. Now I’m gonna go on the hunt lol
Since Anastasia started with brow products, they were never on my radar. Since they started the rest…the singles, Mod ren, glosses, nontraditional highlighters, they have really piqued my interest. These are a prime example. Knowing my buying patterns, I simply ought not to go there at all. Or else it’s bill neglect and massive hauls. As Nancy Reagan oversimplified, Just Say No.
I’m glad they’re expanding – it is good to see a brand slowly build out their range!
These are freaking gorgeous. Venom is going on my wishlist for sure.
Yay! 😀
I love how all 3 of them look! Only Vamp or Bordeaux will be coming home with me in the fall. While I love how Venom looks, I rarely would wear it out, so I’ll just enjoy it on others. 😀
I’m glad you found two to tempt ya, Aj!
Wow, all three shades are gorgeous but Venom is really calling my name. Absolutely to die for. That one is definitely going on my list!
Venom is so pretty!
I would’ve bought all 3 of these if it not were for the main ingredient…mineral oil. SMH. It would be easier to vigorously rub my lips with rough sand paper.
Oh, I’m so sorry that they don’t work for you because of that!
I have liked almost all of these including these three.
They are all gorgeous, I think, but Venom! Venom is amazingly fantastic! It will be mine! Can you tell I really like it? 🙂
All of those are ridiculous. I want all of them *hangs head*.
Seriously, I have yet to see a lip color look bad on you. Everything you put on looks fabulous! Your reviews and everything you do is amazing, only problem, I can’t be sure the products will look so great on my lips as they do yours!
Thank you so much, Nicole!
