Anastasia Eyeshadow
Anastasia Pink Champagne Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium-dark, rosy brown with warmer undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It was in one of the recent pre-made palettes, and I quite liked it then, so when I needed a fourth shade (to get the discount pricing), I thought it’d be a good one to pick up and just double-check that it’s still good on its own! Luckily, it is, indeed, similar to the palette version. It had mostly opaque color payoff with a very dense, almost cream-like consistency. Most of the sparkle stays on throughout the day, but there was a few bits of fall out after eight hours. Fenty Beauty Sand Castle (PiP, $36.00) is lighter (90% similar). FORMULA OVERVIEW | Anastasia Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.06 oz.) is supPosed to be a “finely-milled, highly-pigmented” powder eyeshadow. The brand has a large range of individual eyeshadows that are available as pan-only (no compact to hold them); if you purchase four, you’ll get a 4-well plastic palette for $40 ($10 per eyeshadow), or purchase eight and get an 8-well cardboard palette for $70 ($8.75 per eyeshadow) (the 8-pan is only available directly from the brand). On average, the formula is semi-opaque to opaque, lightly dusty to buttery, wears seven to nine hours, and is fairly blendable. The Metallic and Titanium finishes seem to be the best-performing to me, but there are some really standout mattes and shimmers as well. I find the more recently released shades to be better-performing compared to Anastasia eyeshadows I tried two or three years ago. The wear varies between six and eight hours with decent to good application over bare skin (no primer).

Oooooooooooh! And also: aaaaaaaaah!
Hopefully in a good way!
I love these shades and own nothing from Anastasia. Christine, would you recommend buying the singles and putting them into a z-palette or similar vs. buying Anastasia’s palette?
I LOVE the ABH quads (the new ones) – they are sturdy and are easy to remove/rearrange the shades. I hope they’ll extend and create the same type of packaging for their 8-pan (still cardboard). The cardboard ones are fine, but between the two, I prefer plastic. I’ve traveled with the cardboard 4- and 8-pan palettes no problem. I believe as long as you buy 4 from Sephora/Ulta/etc. you’ll get a quad for $1 or free, and if you buy 8 directly from ABH, the 8-pan palette is free. I’ve bought directly from ABH for the most part and have had good luck buying from them – two shades even broke (out of like, 40), and they reshipped new ones without issue.
Tracey, what Christine said is true. I have 2 Z palettes and do like to use them with these and other shadows but the 4 pans from ABH are really good and it’s so easy to switch shadows around (unlike MAC’s palettes, for example). Like Christine, I also hope they come out with a 6 or 8 pan that is just as sturdy and nice looking and practical.
I love these colors. I have Blushing in the single, and I think it’s really pretty in the inner corner and browbone.
I could totally see it working well in those places!
I’m not sure I could make Cognac work but I love the overall look they give.
I wish there were more eyeshadows with Cognac’s finish!
I swatched Pink Champagne in store and totally fell in love with it, had to have it! Sparkles galore, so hard to capture on camera.
It is a really sparkling one!
Wow! I love that color combo in your eye look!
Funny thing is, I do have Pink Champagne in that Self-Made palette, plus dupes for the others in MAC Da Bling, Star Violet and Antiqued, also UD Alien and Lorac Garnet. But never would have thought to combine them!
Ahh! And now you can 😀
I raced to my local Sephora to buy Pink Champagne before the ABH display unit had even arrived (a SA checked and it was in the back and she put it aside for me). Even though I knew it was better value to buy this in 4’s, I just HAD to have Pink Champagne (I’ve since bought another 4 shadows and will probably order 4 more that I can’t get in-store).
You know it’s good when you’re willing to pay full price for it 😉 I really dig a lot of the newer ABH singles, and since I have taken a few of the freestyle palettes with me to travel, I figured Pink Champagne really needed to be in a single version, too!
Oh my, these eyeshadows are GORGEOUS! I want them all 😮
They are nice!
Gorgeous, subtle colours to wear to work and on the weekend. Lovely eye look Christine.
By the way, I keep getting the request to join your email list all the time, eg when I open the dupe list or change to a new section.
I’ll have my developer look into that tomorrow! If you have cookies blocked, that might be why!
I wasn’t expecting Labyrinth to receive a good grade, so I was surprised by the B- and by the swatch. I just pulled mine out to swatch it again… and it didn’t swatch well. Then, I gently scratched across the surface and, **presto!!**, it’s swatching really well now. Hmmm… that’s the first time I’ve had that happen with an ABH single shadow.
I’m glad it’s swatching better now at least, but how annoying!
