Anastasia Norvina Palette + Fall 2018 Lip Gloss/Lipstick, Liquid Glows Swatches
Anastasia Fall 2018 Collection features a new eyeshadow palette, Norvina, along with five new lip glosses, one new liquid lipstick, and three new liquid highlighters. All the new shades are limited edition per the brand’s customer service (I called and emailed). The collection launches July 29th online at Ulta (August 5th for stores), and then online at all other retailers on August 7th (in-stores August 17th). I’m working on testing everything as quickly as I can, so I ask for your patience as I work through my review process.
Hi Christine 🙂 Is it just me or all the lipgloss looks like the same once you applied them on your lips?
I don’t care for the lipglosses at all and I think you are right – they all look the same when applied and the purple lip shade looks very dehydrating to me.
Omg I was just about to comment that they all look exactly the same!
Exactly! They look like colourpop ‘s ultra glossy lip glosses but for the higher price I expect a little difference. They are pretty.
This palette has me so tempted! Soul is so unique and I love the color story of the palette. I am so close to getting this as well as Prism and Soft Glam!
Too bad I just gave away Prism last week.
I have no interest in the rest of the palette, but love the matte purple shade “soul”.
I received my Norvina palette in the mail yesterday and I am so excited to use it tomorrow! Your look is very beautiful, too, so I may just try my best to mimic it!
I do believe I am going to pass on everything else, though. I do like the Lip Gloss in Sunscape and could see myself picking that up if it ever goes on sale.
Just not feeling any of it it at all. The lip glosses look identical. The palette is okay but not worth the money for me.
Too glitzy and warm toned for me. Easy pass.
Soul is interesting but I have a similar color in the Nabla “Soul Blooming” palette, and the rest of the palette doesn’t seem unique. Are there a lot of similar shades in Soft Glam? I like about half and half shimmers and mattes, and these mattes aren’t my cup of tea. Thanks for the swatches, though; it helps me make a decision to go with Lorac’s Pro Palette 4 instead, and I really liked your review of that one. 😀
Hi,
I was wondering… Do you have buy the Nabla palette on the website or something else? It seem pricy on the website!?
Thank you,
Virginia
It’s an Italian brand that as far as I know is not sold in the U.S., so I bought it from their web site. Shipping was fast and well-packed. I hope they get a U.S. distributor.
Thank you very much!?
I am so tempted for the eyeshadow palette. I have both MR & Soft Glam, & am very happy with those two. I’ll wait for your review before I decide. I love how you did your eye makeup.
I really want to get this one!
The more swatches I see of the palette, the less I want it 🙁 When I first laid eyes on it I was 100% sure I’d get it! Now I think I’ll pass. It’s not quite as unique as I first anticipated. Still beautiful, but I won’t but it just for 3 or 4 shades.
I agree. At first I wanted it so much but now i just need the list of shoes for a shade or two and I will be fine.
I’m still not sure. I hardly reach for my ABH shadows. They’re more dusty than my other shadows, so I seems to skip over them on favor of others and I still really dislike that orangey shade sticking out like a sore thumb. I wish ABH would stop insisting that type of shade must be included regardless of the larger scheme.
Those glosses look atrocious! Oddly chunky looking without actually doing anything of value to the lips. No thank you. I’m far too fair for the highlighters, but I’m sure they’ll work on medium to deep complexions.
I am on board with you concerning the palette! It seems less purple than expected… I might just need to settle for the Lila palette (I still lust after it, crazy!) Do you still love yours?
Have you seen the mini lila that is coming out or has already ca me out? Looks cute. 5 purple or cool-tone shades.
I did! I am afraid it will translate almost black on my skin as a lot of dark purples do. I will wait Christine swatches 🙂
I do!! I’m strongly considering picking up the mini Lila when that launches too, even though I’m unlikely to get any real use out of the blurple glittery shade.
I guess it would depend on how fine the glitters are. I am curious to see swatches 🙂
We share the same name and also the same opinions on this palette! The last two matte shades–the orange and the maroon–just kill it for me. If they had turned those into cool shades (maybe a light taupey mauve and a deep eggplant?) I would be totally on board.
Exactly Lea!
Soul is the only unique shade I’m seeing here. I wish this palette was cooler-toned, I’d be much more tempted. I’m still waiting for a brand to put out a cool toned wearable neutral and purple palette!
Yes, when the first promo pix came out, people were saying, “It’s so purple!,” but it really isn’t. A few purplish shades but so many warm neutrals and golds (again). I think the lavender packaging fooled a lot of eyes.
For real! This is like Soft Glam but with a few purple shades thrown in. Where’s all the creativity they showed with Subculture?
I’m thinking of going for the Dior Cool Neutrals palette instead for that reason!
My brother’s girls are named Luna and Freya. What a coincidence lol. Besides that, Soul looks really nice. I expect it to be patchy but these swatches look so warm. I thought it looked cooler in the promo pics. I cant wear warm shadows. Another pallette I wont buy.
I’m really excited for this one.
This looks like a very pretty palette and most of the shades look good, a few patchy mattes though.
I like the colour combinations and it seems a really cohesive palette.
This palette isn’t as cool toned as I thought it would be, but I’m still planning on picking this up. Those purples and pinks, especially Soul, are calling my name.
I have Huda Desert Dusk and I love it but I still really want this. ?? my friends all say it should be named Michelle because it’s so me.
This palette looks really good to me! I dont own any ABH palettes, so I think I will pick it up, your swatches look good. The glosses will be a pass for me, they all look exactly the same once applied. The violet liquid lipstick is a really unique colour, but it looks super-drying, so I’m in the fence about it. Looking forward to your reviews in this collection.
This will be a tough decision on the palette. Suspect if there’s a decent single dupe for Soul, I could forego this. (Or wait for CP to dupe it…all you have to do is wait…). I really like a few others, even Eccentric, which I agree is a bit jarring here and almost cliche ABH. If you play the ‘cover up the accent shades,’ it seems this palette is like most of the warm neutrals out there. Vaguely disappointing, as kind of thought it might be groundbreaking. And as to the rest, abh ll is not my love match. There’s a reason I only have one. The glosses are very one note, and the HL would be a hl-blush on me, and think i’m covered. I vote with Debbie Downer on this collection.
I agree! It bothers me when companies and consumers overhype a purple toned eyeshadow palette only for it to come with 2, maybe 3 purple shades! Lila, Norvina, the majority of shades are some kind of brown.
None of the eyeshadow shades thrill me EXCEPT for Soul. If they eventually sell it as a single I will buy 2 so I’m sure to never run out.
Idk on first glance I thought, this is every palette being released right now. But then on second look later, I thought, this is really super pretty and a few colors I have run out of in other palettes so I want it. But I’m sortof on a no-buy right now – only getting basics like foundation, etc as me and my husband are trying to save money for, you know, vacations and retirement and those sorts of things. If it’s around toward the end of the year, maybe I’ll buy it. I wish I could pick out about 6-8 of the shades and just buy those alone. There are some definite throwaways here for me.
I’m waiting for my palette to arrive. Soul is gorgeous, and needs to be a single. That violet liquid lipstick looks so dry. Yuck.
Hi Christine,
Thank you for your swatches 😉 I had ordered it on the ABH UK site and received it last thursday so I did my makeup with it yesterday 😉 I’ve tried Love, Wild child, Celestial and Drama 😉 Mattes are powdery , but it’s ABH, it’s “normal”, shimmers are buttery, so pigmented… I thought it would be a more purplely palette but it is not , it’s very neutral with some pop of purplely colours, but I like that… I love ABH palettes except the Subculture which is beautiful but so hard to use …
I’ll be eager to see your review and ratings of the e/s palette. In spite of a few colours that are ugly on me (pink, pink, orange, orange), there are several that look gorgeous. The look of the textures of some of them seem like they could be great (like Pink Champagne) or at the opposite end of the spectrum (loosely packed, falling apart-type glitter pans). I thought the highlighters were cream eyeshadows when I first looked at them!
I bought the Norvina palette at BeautyCon LA last weekend – they had a pre-sale at their booth there before the official launch date – so I’ve been playing with it for about a week. It’s definitely a lot less purple than I anticipated from their sneak peeks and the way they marketed it, which I think will be a disappointment for some.
It’s my first ABH palette, because it’s the first time the color story speaks to me. I don’t regret buying it to finally try the brand’s shadow formula, which I find very powder for the mattes, and thick and prone to fallout for the shimmers, although both are very pigmented.
However I think they could have done something much more interesting and unique by removing some of the classic warm shades and replacing them with cool-toned shades: Dazzling is the exact color you get when mixing Summer and Rose Gold! They could have included a gorgeous “blurple” shimmer instead. Eccentric is way too warm to pair well with the rest of the palette, they could have included either a pale lilac or a deep cool-toned purple. The list goes on.
I think ABH missed the opportunity to show that they are truly a trend-setting brand that can explore and commit to unique color stories (unique for our current time, obviously purple palettes have been done before). I feel like they showed us that side with the Subculture, but then switched back to playing it safe with the Soft Glam and now Norvina. Even the palette names aren’t quite as good!
Is that microglitter in some of the glitter eyeshadows? ? Microglitter fallout is a deal breaker for me.
Honestly, the palette is an easy pass for me. I’m warm toned so several shades wouldn’t work for me, and for those that would I’m already covered. I have all the sparkly glosses I need a few times over. I”m interested to see how the highlighters do.
I just found a good example of what I thought this was going to be: the Revolution Beauty Re-Loaded palette in ‘Visionary’. Cool toned neutrals and purples. I actually prefer it to Norvina and suggest it to someone looking for a cooler version of this. Most definitely the quality won’t be as good as ABH’s will be, but I guess it’s the price we pay!
Definitely ‘no’ on the glosses and purple matte lipstick. Used to love ABH matte lipsticks, but there are so many better options out now on the market. Alot of their matte lipsticks are thick and do not dry down. Prefer a thinner matte lipstick now and a more comfortable one.
Did pick up the palette and I like it, but don’t think I love it. I see the similarities to the Soft Glam palette.
The shimmers in this are tempting me the most, even with the neutral shades. But I get frustrated with brands that just cannot seem to pull the trigger on a complete cool toned palette. The last two matte shades are so disappointing to me. Why must every ABH palette have a burgundy color? And the yellow/brown shade is so out of place with the color story!
Normally I HAVE to have her palettes, but this one doesn’t grab me.
