Anastasia’s Liquid Lipstick is supposed to be “ultra-saturated” and “deliver an intense shot of matte pigment in one easy swipe” that will “stay put for hours.” It’s one of my least favorite Liquid Lipstick formulas, as it has a really long drying time and is a drying formula overall. Midnight had good color coverage with a slightly thin consistency that seemed thicker than other Anastasia shades but thinner than Paint. It takes about ten minutes to dry down and fully set, and it remains fairly transfer-resistant for the six hours it wears, but it does fade unevenly from the center of the lip for me. I also get slight “cracking” once I smile as the formula clings noticeably. It was somewhat drying after three hours of wear.

Wow, 10 mins to dry down? Too bad about the formula, as it’s a nice black color. Hey, Christine, I think you mentioned Guerlain Parure Gold was your favorite foundation, but it got discontinued a couple of years ago? Don’t know if you know, but it has been re-launched for Sept 2015. They’ve changed the colors and formula though, so hope it still works for you. Sarah @ Color Me Loud has a review, and there are some press releases online.

I’m aware 🙂 Not out for me to buy yet, and I actually try to avoid reviews of anything I expect to review so I’m not influenced but thank you for the heads up! (Edited: apologies if this sounded snarky at all, didn’t mean it that way but when I reread it, I could see it being taken that way and wanted to clarify otherwise!!)

When can we buy it? I tried the other Guerlain foundations and while I LOVED the finish it wasn’t as full coverage or color matched to my skin (need very light but yellow toned). But I want to love it.

Online info says Sept 2015, it’s part of their Fall collection. You can probably call the nearest Guerlain counter, and the can tell you when it arrives online or in store

Not for me! Ten minutes to dry is cray-cray. Also, at this stage of my life, the only use I have for a straight up black lipstick is to use it to darken and customize another lipstick, and for that purpose, I doubt a liquid matte could do it. A good regular formula black lippy could, though! ?

Wow when I hear “dry” I shiver! I really like the look of black lipstick with red or gold gloss but I’m gonna pass on this whole series from Anastasia. Thanks for reviewing the dark shades! And you snarky? Never in a million years as you are the epitome of professionalism!

For those of us seeking black lippie options, would you ever consider reviewing Portland Black Lipstick Company’s black lipstick? I’ve seen a few swatches but I’d love to see it reviewed with your specifications and quality photography at work. 😀
