Anastasia Melon Lip Gloss
Anastasia Melon Lip Gloss ($16.00 for 0.16 fl. oz.) is a brighter, light-medium peach-orange with warm undertones and a cream finish. There was a milkier quality to the color, and despite it being rather pigmented, it did not apply well. This shade settled into lip lines and was visibly streaky. On me, it wore for four hours and was hydrating. MAC Teen Dream (LE, $20.00) is brighter, warmer (90% similar). Anastasia Neon Orange (-, $16.00) is more muted, cooler (85% similar). Chanel Exotique (12) (P, $34.00) is warmer (85% similar). NYX Cherry Cheesecake (P, $5.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Anastasia Maui Lip Gloss ($16.00 for 0.16 fl. oz.) is a bright, medium coral with warm, orange undertones and a cream finish. The pigmentation was nearly opaque, but it was harder to apply this shade evenly, as it was more prone to streaking than some of the other shades in the formula. The consistency felt creamy and comfortable on the lips, though. It wore well for four and a half hours and was moisturizing. Chanel Super Coral (157) (LE, $34.00) is darker, more muted, cooler (95% similar). Dior Rieuse (373) (P, $35.00) is brighter (95% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Paint It (202) (DC, $28.00) is darker (90% similar). MAC Tattoo My Heart (P, $24.00) is darker, more muted (85% similar). Hourglass Nectar (P, $28.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). NARS Playpen (P, $26.00) is lighter, cooler (80% similar). Illamasqua Mistress (P, $22.00) is darker (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Anastasia Neon Orange Lip Gloss ($16.00 for 0.16 fl. oz.) is a bright, medium orange with a hint of pinky-red tones paired with a cream finish. This shade was fully opaque, but it could have applied a little more evenly–it was slightly streaky and did not adhere as evenly around the inner center of my lips. The consistency was creamy, light-medium in weight, and comfortable to wear over the four hours it lasted. MAC Teen Dream (LE, $20.00) is darker, more muted (95% similar). Anastasia Melon (-, $16.00) is brighter, warmer (85% similar). NYX Orangesicle (P, $5.99) is darker, less glossy (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Anastasia Candy Coral Lip Gloss ($16.00 for 0.16 fl. oz.) is a bright, medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a cream finish. The consistency was smooth, a little more gel-like, and it spread easily across the lips, but I did encounter a bit of streaking. It had good pigmentation, though, and it wore well for four hours on me. NYX Napoleon (P, $5.99) is darker (95% similar). Urban Decay Snitch (DC, $26.00) is lighter (90% similar). NARS Playpen (P, $26.00) is darker, more muted, warmer (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Formula Overview
Anastasia Lip Gloss ($16.00 for 0.16 fl. oz.) is supposed to be “opaque” with “high-shine” that’s “non-drying.” It is one of the more pigmented lipglosses out there that has a smoother, more cushion-y consistency that typically spreads well across the lips. Some shades gather in lip lines, and some shades apply streaky; it seems more common with lighter shades and milkier colors. The formula is non-sticky initially and develops slight tackiness over time. My experience from wearing the formula is that they are often lightly to moderately hydrating and wear three to five hours. They have a vanilla scent that isn’t too overpowering nor does it linger once applied (I notice it mostly in the tube).

These are all very pretty. I’m adding Candy Coral to my wish list for next spring/summer.
Yay!
Absolutely my kind of colors! I just was the finish was a bit more flawless. Like the Clé de Peau Liquid Rouges… 🙂
I hear ya! 🙂
These are all so flattering on you. Was interested that the reader quick reviews give abh lg a 1.8. Surprised me greatly. Please remind me how to access the community reviews and quick reviews.
If you go to any product’s page, you’ll find reader reviews 🙂 From the navigation, it is under “Reviews!”
I don’t wear gloss much, and these aren’t really my colors, but I think that Maui and Candy Coral are really pretty on you, Christine!
Aw, thanks Fran!
I’m in love with these colours and how they look on warmer skintones! I love neutrals and coral shades over super dramatic berry or pink colour!
They are really fun to wear!
I really like the looks of Maui and Candy Coral, especially during the long AZ summer! Even though I veer warm-toned, I prefer “cooler” corals to outright orange when shades are this light. My MAC Reel Sexy hardly gets any love from me as a result, and neither would Melon or Neon Orange.
They are fun, summery shades! 🙂
Not liking these colors or the streakiness. ABH has so many better glosses
They could be better for sure!
These look so pretty on you!
Thank you, Betty!
Normally I do not use lipgloss but these colours are all 4 colours I love. Remind me of my favourite lippies Mac Betty bright and mac force of love.
Is there any particular reason why you’re not a fan of lipgloss, Kylie?
Maui and Candy Coral are my favorites out of this grouping. They seem surprisingly wearable for the most skin tones.
Glad you found a couple to like 😉
These shades are a little to “creamsicle” for me, though Candy Coral is kind of pretty with the pinker tint to it. I don’t like these on their own. They definitely need something under them.
Haha! I can see exactly what you mean, Rachel. They do have that type of depth/brightness that gives it a “creamsicle” look.
An easy pass for me. I have dupes that I really like, and these weren’t perfect. The colours are very pretty, though.
I’m so glad you have dupes instead, Helene!
These shades look gorgeous on you Christine!
Thanks so much, Bonnie!
Maui and Candy Coral look fabulous on you, Christine!
Thank you!
Lipglosses aside, I love your eye look in these pix, Christine!
Thanks, Viki!
Because it does not last long time. And a lot have big glitter and then the gloss isalready gone and the glitter is on the lips. But I have to try these from Anastasia.
Ahh, I see!
These are really fun and summery! Especially “Maui.”
Agreed! 🙂
