Formula Overview
$40.00/0.16 oz. - $250.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to "last all day long" that "reacts to skin's moisture level" and its pH to deliver a "customized color." The texture is described as "ultra-fine" and "lightweight" so that it blends well and feels weightless. It was also described as being buildable, and it had semi-sheer to medium, somewhat buildable coverage.
If you can dislodge the powder away from the surface, it's a decent blush; it seemed kind of flat and was more apt to emphasize skin texture/dryness compared to other blush formulas. Some shades blended out better than others, but the texture of all the blushes I tried in the range was incredibly firm, stiff, and prone to developing hard-pan within a handful of uses. I felt like I was constantly using a paper towel to break up that top surface to get product to apply and to swatch.
The "customized color" it gave me often was in the form of making the application seem patchier over time, which was more noticeable with medium and deeper colors against my skin tone. (Naturally, the closer your skin tone is to the blush color, the less apparent some patchiness will be.)
On my skin, they lasted around seven hours on me, so a little below average, but about half the shades turned patchier and seemed to "sink" into my pores over time.
From a texture standpoint, these are some of the worst high-end blushes I've come across. Usually, the textures at this price point are incredibly silky, smooth, and blendable, but wow, what a total miss.

After seeing how poorly these have been reviewed, I don’t understand how other people are raving about these.
I know! Everyone I follow on YouTube really enjoys these, and they really do look beautiful on them. (Kackie, Amanda Z, Charlotte Holdcroft, Tina from The Fancy Face, are some I can think of off the top of my head). People seem to build the color up in light layers.
Oh dear – how disappointing. It is an odd colour though – none of the dupes seem to have the strange purple-y, almost bruised colour that Berry has. I’ve got Wrapped Candy so even if I were inclined to get this blush (I’m not foolish enough to shell out big bucks on a product with such a poor rating), I’d tried to content myself with the fact that I have a dupe.
Good grief, Dior! WTH did y’all do to your Backstage Blushes?
Then again, since I do believe that this shade and Mahogany were created for very deep or rich skintones, I’m waiting for YouTubers with much richer coloring to review these deeper and the other very bright shade, Cherry, to see if these work for them because all too often when something is curated for a very different depth than our own, it can really look and apply crappier than it would compared to the opposite canvas.
Honestly, the brand should recall them – it’s just not fair on unsuspecting customers.
I know your swatch photos are more for showing off the color and finish and performance rather than showing how you would actually wear the blush, but I had to giggle a little and think “what, statement cheeks aren’t a thing?!” LOL! I always love how you still look happy in every photo despite the rating that that product is about to receive. =D But wow, I trust your review on this line, your knowledge of performance is much higher than mine so even though I think these new colors are visually beautiful I’m going to stay away.
I own one set of brushes. They were free from a purchase a long time ago. Imagine thousands of people like me using cheap brushes and untrained. This would look like a bruise on my face. how awful are these products to get poor rating from temptalia??
What a shame! Lovely color in the palette, but yuck on the cheek! Looks like it went into each pore and didn’t diffuse at all, like you described. Sad, sad!
