Urban Decay Unbreakable Vice Lip Bond Review & Swatches
Unbreakable
Urban Decay Unbreakable Vice Lip Bond Glossy Liquid Lipstick ($25.00 for 0.2 oz.) is a vivid, medium-dark red with cool, blue undertones and a luminous sheen. It looked wetter than a true satin or cream finish lipstick but didn’t have the translucency or more jelly-like look of a true gloss.
- Opaque coverage in one layer
- Lightweight, thinner initially, then slightly clingy but not uncomfortable
- Moderately tacky after set but did not lift up color
- Transfer-resistant, even after eating/drinking
- Extremely long-wearing (12-14 hours of very good wear, product remained as fading until removal at 16 hours)

Formula Overview
$25.00/0.2 oz. - $125.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "intense color and instant'shine" in a single layer, while still being "comfortable to wear" and moisturizing. The brand also claims that it will wear for 16 hours, be transfer-proof and resistant to both water and food. The brand says to shake the tube prior to application.
I'm happy to report that the formula actually lived up to its claims! It was incredibly long-wearing where 16-hour wear was absolutely within possibilities, though I'd say that two greasier meals did start to break it down more noticeably (so around 12-14 hours, depending on eating schedules). It was food and water resistant; I didn't see any marks left on my glasses while drinking my morning lattes or water throughout the day. After a meal, it had almost no transfer and was very much intact on my lips except for the very inner area after an oil-heavy (pesto!) lunch.
They had rich color coverage that applied evenly, was fairly forgiving and not prone to settling noticeably into my lip lines. The liquid lipstick felt lighter and was thinner initially, but it set to a slightly clingy, more satin-like sheen after about 30 seconds. I noticed that it felt less clingy after about two hours and was very comfortable to wear. It didn't seem to dry out my lips at all after wearing the product for multiple days in a row.
It seemed unscented and had no discernible taste.

Wow! I really thought the claims might be too good to be true, but it really is a strong performer. I’m more excited now to see the other colors. I could see taking one of these on a vacation that I have coming up.
Having tried a few different liquid lipstick products in past, I am not a fan. I also don’t really like matte lipsticks for the most part. But this looks like it might be something I’d enjoy wearing – it doesn’t look dry and dreadful (most liquid lipsticks look like Sharpie marker on me). I’m eager to see some of the other shades because these do seem promising if the other colours have similar texture and performance and attain the coveted “Temptalia Recommends”. This shade is lovely but brighter than I thought it would be from UD’s photos (what else is new?). So maybe PDA (I don’t mind that name so much but I really do wish they’d move away from the “provocative” names….it was never very elegant and it’s really got OLD).
Wow I’m pretty tempted by this product! How was the removal process at the end of the day?
This is GORGEOUS! Makes me think of cherry pie filling because it looks so juicy and glossy, but without the transfer. I’ve been eyeing these. Just trying to get a sense of how good (or not) they are before buying one.
Omg, this looks amazing! Did you find the formula to be as drying as the average liquid lipstick?
Nope, not at all!
That is a stunning red and an A+ rating is good news for UD.
Well I’ll be damned, this SHOCKED me. That color is gorgeous on you Christine!
Oh wow! This is beautiful! I was definitely curious about these and this looks like it doesn’t disappoint!
Rats, it looks like these are “online only” (and aren’t even in stock yet) at Sephora. Because I need to SEE the colours, unless they do become “in store”, I’ll probably pass….le sad face!
Oh my goodness, this is gorgeous! I hope you review more of these (but if not that’s okay too).
Oooh I’m such a sucker for a cool-toned red, and the rare Temptalia 100% score has me even more intrigued. I’m impressed that the long-wearing and glossy claims are true since that’s a tough combo. Hope this is a sign of an upswing for Urban Decay, which hasn’t excited me for some time!
I’m curious as to how this compares to Maybelline’s Super Stay Vinyl Ink Lipsticks. It looks like UD copied the idea and then increased the price by $15 :/
My feeling exactly! (I’m in love with the maybelline though, so these ones are also made for me)
