Best Products of the Week | Vol. 319
Hope your weekend is starting off on the right note! Every Saturday, I like to share the top 10 products from the last week of reviews. It’s a nice way to highlight what reviews have been published recently. Similarly, I love reading–and I know others enjoy sharing!–their own “week in review” when it comes to what makeup/beauty products they may have used and/or enjoyed.
What was your week in review like? Copy and paste the lil’ survey below and share your answers in the comments 🙂

Your skin tone/coloring: pale, cool
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: I went to the hairdresser on Thursday (masked) so it was just my eyes but, once again, Frances commented on how pretty my eyeshadow was (the lights at the shampoo sinks is bright and must have showed it plus my eyes were closed). Last time I was there, she did the same and I was wearing NARS Old Church Street. This time, I was wearing Huda Jaguar and now I’m actually thinking of getting it for her for Xmas though I don’t know if she wears much eye makeup.
What was the hero product of the week for you?: Smashbox Red Rage lipstick. I’ve not used it for a while but wore it twice last week and even when my mask came off, there was a nice, even trace of it still on my lips (perhaps in part because of Elizabeth Arden’s lipstick primer). Plus, the colour is such a perfect red for me.
Any products you want to use next week?: Charlotte Tilbury The Rebel – want to get more wearings from it and also Becca Vanilla Quartz….I bought that thing – a mini from a set of 3 – used it and then could not find it – no idea where I’d put it (well, I had an idea but it wasn’t there). Finally, when I took time to look more closely, it was there, where I thought it would be but buried under a whole bunch of other makeup. The compact is so tiny that it just sort of “vanished”. I’m so glad I found it – it’s so pretty.
Smashbox Red Rage is on my wish list!
I had to check the colour, I mean if it got you away from Craving it had to be extra special. It’s a gorgeous one, I must say.
Reading about BECCA makes me so sad the brand is gone.
Red Rage and Legendary are both gorgeous reds from Smashbox and they’re cream formulas so they are comfortable and flattering (for an old gal like moi) to wear. They have a matte shade called Infra Red that is also stunning and if I prep my lips with that Elizabeth Arden Lipfix, it actually feels quite nice too. But Craving – it will always be my true love because it’s such an easy colour to wear.
Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green/gray/blue eyes, warm brown hair.
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: I enjoyed every single one of my looks this week, but, this is the one I loved the most: https://www.instagram.com/p/CV0S4wbrHae/?utm_medium=copy_link
What was the hero product of the week for you?: I think Juvia’s Place The Nomad and Clionadh Enamel.
Any products you want to use next week?: My Natasha Denona palettes and Viseart Coy palette.
OMG Celesta – that eye look is stunning! You have blended all the different colours and shades in so well and yet so distinctively. Love that liquid lipgloss shade too.
Your skin tone/coloring: Fenty 120
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: My birthday party look! https://www.instagram.com/p/CVx5F80p2JI/?utm_medium=copy_link
What was the hero product of the week for you?: Pat McGrath Celestial Divinity Eyeshadow Quad
Any products you want to use next week?: My new Shiseido lipsticks, my Lorac mini palette in Frosted Sequoia (crossing my fingers it performs well!!).
A very pretty look Sarah and I hope you had a wonderful time at your birthday party – was that a Shiseido lipstick you had on? Love the colour.
Everyone seems to be wearing beautiful lipsticks now!
YOUR SKIN TONE/COLORING: NC15 in studio fix- fair with a lot of yellow peeking through
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MAKEUP LOOK YOU WORE THIS PAST WEEK?: This week I couldn’t be bothered much :S but I tested the Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing and was wonderfully surprised by how good it looked & felt on. I topped that w/ MAC Well Dressed on the cheeks; Malt (whole lid), Orb (brow bone) and Haux (crease); and Lâncome Effortless Chic on the lips… I even curled my lashes but unfortunately I was the only one to see it in the car! haha
WHAT WAS THE HERO PRODUCT OF THE WEEK FOR YOU? I did a clay mask and I’d forgotten how satisfying it is to feel it drying and how it feels so “clean” afterwards.
ANY PRODUCTS YOU WANT TO USE NEXT WEEK? A while ago I got the powder Studio Fix on a whim and it makes my pores look massive! I hadn’t realised how gigantic they’d become -maybe because of wearing a mask?- and I need to think about what I’m going to do to make them disappear but meanwhile the plan for next week is to find the best primer ever! Suggestions anyone? I’ve tried the MAC primer for studio fix (the lady from MAC insisted on giving me a sample… wonder why?), the beige one from Innisfree. I had a couple of astringent sprays that worked wonders but it was never this bad before, so I’m past that phase. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: Using ND’s Glam: Using the soft goldy shade over the lid, with a warmer gold shade over the lower lid and the deeper taupe next to the lashline. I paired it with CP’s Tea Thyme.
What was the hero product of the week for you?: Hard to say because I used quite few palettes and lipsticks last week, but I guess ND’s Glam for me.
Any products you want to use next week?: Next Saturday I am going out to a girl’s soiree with my sister and her friends and the outfit that I have choosen (if the weather cooperates) has floral print involving blue, with touches of rose gold and soft greens, so I am looking at using a combination of eye palettes to create the eye look: probably Smashbox’s Petal Metal and perhaps Contraversy from bareMinerals The Wild Thing for the soft blue shade.
Your skin tone/coloring: Above, grey-green ayes, dark brown hair
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?:
I’ve been very lazy lately, so I only did a real makeup twice this past week. I used PmG Celestial Odyssey both times. I used Bronze Eclipse in the outer corner, Bronze Nova on the rest of the mobile lid with Galactic Glow at the inner corner and around the tear duct. I think I used Corrupt Copper on the lower lash line, I used Nocturne in the crease and blended into nothingness up and outward. A grown eyeliner and black mascara. Clinique Ginger pop blush and MAC Chili lipstick. The other time I think I just used Palladium as a one and done, again with Nocturne from crease and up-out. That time with Victoria Beckham lipstick in a rather brown shade. I can’t recall what it’s called and am to lazy to go check!
What was the hero product of the week for you?:
Clinique Ginger Pop, it’s probably my warmest blush, I use it when I use warmer eyeshadows and it’s so easy to use, quite pretty and flattering.
Any products you want to use next week?:
I hope I’ll get my CP order, if I do I look forward to trying Parallel blush and the Coconut palette.
