Best Products of the Week | Vol. 315

Hope your weekend is starting off on the right note! Every Saturday, I like to share the top 10 products from the last week of reviews. It’s a nice way to highlight what reviews have been published recently. Similarly, I love reading–and I know others enjoy sharing!–their own “week in review” when it comes to what makeup/beauty products they may have used and/or enjoyed.

What was your week in review like? Copy and paste the lil’ survey below and share your answers in the comments 🙂

  • Your skin tone/coloring:
  • What was your best look you wore this past week?:
  • What product made you happiest to wear this week?:
  • Any products you want to use next week?:

Comments that do not adhere to our comment policy may be removed. Discussion and debate are highly encouraged but we expect community members to participate respectfully. Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones

What was your best look you wore this past week?: I used Huda’s Smokey Obsessions Palette, with the soft rosey shade on the lid, with the bright gold shade on the mobile lid and a smidgeon of the darker shimmer brown next to the lashline and I paired it with EA’s Bronze lipstick for a neutral look.

What product made you happiest to wear this week?: Definitely eyeshadows and a variety of lipsticks, even though we are still masked when outdoors.

Any products you want to use next week?: It really depends on the weather and what I am wearing, but I think I am going to use Smashbox’s Petal Metal this week.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve clicked on the picture in the email newsletter because I wanted to know what the product pictured was only to be bummed when it’s not shown!

What was your best look you wore this past week?: Honestly, I am so boring and repetitive. It was NARS Old Church Street duo worn pretty much as you’d expect – the golden bronze shade on the inner 2/3 of mobile lid and dark teal on outer third and outer crease; MAC Water Willow or Sephora Cappuccino to line and (a real change for me) a Clarins mascara sample…I generally skip mascara. I need to look at the name of this one as I really like it a lot more than any mascaras I’ve purchased in the past few years. Becca Backlight Priming Filter on its own with Clarins under-eye concealer and when I used blush, it was the Dior Rosy Glow Awakening Blush. On other days, I just used my new purchase – the Becca Rose Quartz Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed. On my lips, it’s been either MAC Craving or Party Line. These have been the looks I’ve worn all this past week (including today for Thanksgiving dinner, which I’ve almost succeeded in clearing up from, with help from “the troops”.
What product made you happiest to wear this week?: Becca Rose Quartz because it’s so lovely and also because, at $12.99, it was an absolute STEAL. And NARS Old Church Street – what an unexpected treasure and pleasure than has turned out to be!
Any products you want to use next week?: The 2 products mentioned – Rose Quartz and Old Church Street.

What was your best look you wore this past week?: Definitely the look I did on Thursday using the ND Triochrome palette. I just love that palette so much. Here’s the link to the photo if you want to check it out! https://www.instagram.com/p/CUuvgj_L1mH/?utm_medium=copy_link

What product made you happiest to wear this week?: Definitely the Thursday look.

Any products you want to use next week?: My Menagerie Cosmetics Indigo Ink palette came in! I used it Saturday for a fun look; it’s a really interesting palette and I’m looking forward to using it again this week.

What was your best look you wore this past week?: I was sick all week so this is my only/best look. Ilia base, Wander Beauty mascara, Pat McGrath blush, and Lorac Noir palette, no lip color cause I forgot!

What product made you happiest to wear this week?: Volition Skin Rhythm Balancing & Clearing Serum has done wonders for my skin in only three weeks. I have very reactive skin and everything else has just burned or broken me out.

This serum has cleared up my skin, faded my acne scars and redness and my hairdresser says my skin glows now! I love putting it on at night!

Any products you want to use next week: Ilia Lip Balm in Heartbeats which is just the wash of red I have been looking to add to my collection. Also the new Lorac holiday palette but that isn’t out yet, alas!
