Rare Beauty Swatches: Liquid Blushes & Liquid Luminizers (Part 1 of 2)
Here’s part one of two posts featuring swatches of the Rare Beauty line-up. This post includes swatches of all eight shades of Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush ($20.00 for 0.25 oz.) and eight shades of Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer Highlight ($22.00 for 0.50 oz.).
I’m so happy to see swatches from this brand! I hope part 2 will have the liquid lip colors as I have my eye on those. Thanks!
Oh, ouch, these blushes look like the darker shades have difficulty blending out smoothly/evenly. Faith looks like a dud to me. I’m curious to see your ratings, because to me, the lighter shades look beautiful, but as you go deeper it looks… unexpected. Grateful looks like a completely different color on your face than in the swatch!
Faith seemed to be more of an outlier!
I hope so, Christine! Especially since the intense pigment must be amazing for deeper skin tones. I imagine Joy and Love could look flattering for a very broad range of skin tones, and Bliss has my eye for my own fairer complexion.
Like a dunce, I forgot that I could click on each picture and get to see how each shade applied to Christine’s cheeks. I only remembered due to your comment, Larissa! That’s where I saw that Love, Joy and Happy are all very wearable. My fave is Love!
Agreed. Most look very different on my screen, from swatch to application. Faith is uneven, and if blended by Christine….enough said. It looks as if these will be friendly only to perfect skin. No dryness, no pores. I suspect that people will complain about another celebrity line. Personally, if I liked something, sufficiently unique, etc., I would not rule it out due to being a collab. It irks me a bit that celebs have the high profile, $, and entitlement to be able to start a line, but many talented MUAs and people with great ideas do not have the advantages to do so.
Oh no!!I see many things I want here, eeek!!!!
Thank you for swatching these, Christine! I’m a bit disappointed that Faith seems patchy, but I’m intrigued about the other shades!
Now that I know why the packaging was designed this way, I understand why they chose to go with a doe foot applicator. I hadn’t thought that it would be a lot easier to use and I’m happy that Selena and her team were so thoughtful and thorough. It’s definitely been an eye opener!
Eeek, I’m almost sorry I clicked on this post – I was just going to bypass these blushes, but Grateful & Love are so pretty. Seriously tempted now!
It has been DECADES since I last used a liquid blush. I’m very used to cream, cream-to-powder, and powder formulas. Liquid not so much. And these look clown like bold. Something tells me that these won’t be so easy to work with!
Now, as for the highlighters, I do see these as being far more approachable and not so ridiculously intense so as to feel intimidating! I could certainly see myself buying one to use for a glass-skin effect. I have my eye on Enlighten and Transcend.
I am really tempted by Love, but I do think that it’s very close to Rose Latte from Fenty so I’m going to hold off from this for now.
The application seems really nice and user friendly, and I there’s a really wide variety with the highlighters as well. This seems like a very well thought out, cohesive launch and I’m keeping my eye on it when I’m (eventually) in the need for new blush or highlighter.
Wow! Pigmentation! Never heard of the brand until a few days ago. Hmmm, will have to keep on my radar. I REALLY don’t need any cheek products or highlighters, but depending on your review, my daughter may be blessed with one or two (and I could try them. LOL!)
Happy, Joy, Bliss all call to me, but I suspect with the amount of cream blushes I have I can find dupes.
Likewise, Enchant, Mesmerize and Enlighten (yas!) but I’m sure I’ve got dupes as well.
I hope SG’s line does well. Hard time to launch a new brand.
I received the trial size of Grace yesterday. I was very excited to try it as I have my eye on Bliss. After watching several reviews I was aware of how pigmented these are and to use a very light hand. I was able to get it to blend out, but, it wasn’t easy. I used my Juno microfiber sponge and fingers, both application methods took effort to blend out. It didn’t blend evenly and my foundation started to move. Really disappointing, ??♀️
The shades look vibrant and there seems to be a wider range of shades – but I guess the issue is with the delivery of the liquid onto the cheeks. The nozzle will have to be really small so you don’t end up with a mess on your fingertips.
These all look beautiful. I ordered Joy and Grateful but now I’m very disappointed seeing Grateful on your cheek as it looks so pink but I thought it was going to be a poppy red. Is it possible to get the colour in the tube at all?
You have to wear it at pretty high coverage, since the more you sheer it out, the less red you’ll see.
Oh thank you. I’ll keep that in mind and see what I can do!
Uh oh, I am such a sucker for liquid blushes. I will probably end up with a pile of these, haha!
