Marc Jacobs Beauty Cher-ished Le Marc Lip Frost Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a deep, coppery brown with warm, red undertones and a soft, frosted finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, which was buildable to mostly opaque coverage, but the texture was thin and emollient, and it seemed like the color struggled to adhere as intensely to the inner portion of my lips. It did catch on larger flakes on my lips but did not emphasize my lip lines noticeably from a normal viewing distance. It wore well for five hours and was lightly hydrating while worn.

The formula is supposed to be "rich" and "creamy" with "indulgent color" paired with a "metallic-frost finish" that lasts for "10 hours." The longevity claims it the part that kills the product's rating; even if it was fantastic across the board, the formula lasts between four and five hours--nowhere close to 10! The pigmentation varied from shade to shade but most had semi-opaque or better coverage. The finish was most definitely "metallic-frost," so sometimes the finish was more likely to emphasize my lip lines or any imperfections in texture, though most looked just fine from a normal viewing distance. A few shades applied well enough but a few were less even, while the formula was smooth and comfortable to apply and to wear. There's a subtle, vanilla scent but no discernible taste (though the description indicated it was a scent and taste).

Marc Jacobs Beauty Detox Le Marc Lip Frost Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark taupe brown with subtle, warm undertones and a frosted finish. It had good color coverage, though it wasn’t opaque and had a tendency to apply somewhat unevenly in places. The texture felt smooth and emollient, which made it comfortable to apply and to wear, but it just didn’t have great staying power nor did it look overly flattering on my lips as it tended to emphasize lip lines and texture. It lasted for four hours and was lightly moisturizing over time.

Lovely shades, but I have dupes for both that are cheaper and better quality.
Definitely one of those times I cannot say “thank goodness!” enough that I have dupes for both! These do not look so hot. Patchiness on the inner lip area and they look kinda clumpy, too.
This review does have me feeling like doing a hot cocoa type of look today with Taraji VG 2 and a chocolate toned eye! Inspiration achieved! (plus drinking hot peppermint cocoa, too!)
Oh wow, I absolutely adore the leopard print packaging!
But because of my low-buy resolution—which would be embarrassing to break on the second day of the new year—I’m very happy that 1) I don’t like these shades and 2) they performed poorly. Money saved!
What a shame they are such a fizz – the coppery brown shade is a preferred shade. Thank goodness for the dupe list.!
I really like these, especially Cher-ished. I’ve got dupes for both of them though, UD Conspiracy and Studded, so I’ll leave them alone.
