Your skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Favorite look from the week: Diorskin Forever foundation (shade 14); Clarins concealer, Hourglass Veil setting powder, Dior Rosy Glow Awakening Blush; on eyes – ABH Marina and Lula (from the Mario palette), Sephora Cappuccino liner and Marc Jacobs Submarine skinny liner to tightline; MAC Craving on lips
Your most used product this week: Sephora Cappuccino liner, Estee Edit Treat+Prep+Glow, Okeefe’s lip balm
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): Becca Moonstone Liquid Shimmering Skin Perfector (haven’t use it in ages; now I want to purchase it in the shade Pearl)
Your skin tone/coloring: Next to my name! (blue-green eyes)
Favorite look from the week: Because I finally took the leap of faith and bought MAC Jealousy Wakes e/s off of eBay, I was able to put together a stunning teal-green w/plum eye look that made my eyes look like emeralds! Wish I had taken pics. Eyes: After applying my usual Orb e/s to the browbone down into the crease area, I went in with a light coat of MAC Kid as a soft transition, used CP T-Cup in the crease blended upwards for a soft gradient, CP Tinsel Town to deepen and cut crease, MAC Jealousy Wakes on inner and outer lid arced over and connected in the crease and on lower lashline, Viseart Coy #10 on mid-lid as a halo, MAC Fresh Blade inner tearduct, finished up my usual black tightline, wings and mascara, plus I lined my lower lashline with both a thin line of black pencil liner and Sephora Contour Pencil in Fairytale. Cheeks: Mac Sweet Vision, ND Pink Champagne and a touch of Ofra Donut. Lips: Nyx SLP in Mauve, Estee Lauder Naked Truth lipstick and a little bit of Fenty Fu$$y Gloss Bomb.
Your most used product this week: Besides foundation samples from MAC (Studio Fix Liquid C3.5 & C4.5 mixed with MJ Dew You Dew Drops), probably Viseart Coy palette, which I was originally going to save for springtime!
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): That wearing my foundation in a duller tone in order to try to cover up red areas and a spider telangiastia on my chin wasn’t doing the rest of my face any favors. Better to go with the peachier MAC “C” range that still has an olive base or something similar, and just doing some heavy duty concealing of those troublesome areas. However, I still have almost a 3/4 full bottle of Lancome Teint Idole 24H Foundation N360…which does work during summer, but has an almost “gray” cast. Wintertime is another story.
All I can say, Nancy, is that it’s a good thing I like you so much because otherwise, I’d hate you for being able to get your hands on Jealousy Wakes!!!!! I missed out on it when it launched and had to content myself with the grey shadow in that Bloggers Choice collection. Lucky you to score one on eBay!
That eye look sounds stunning, Nancy. I can see it looking beautiful with your eye colour and your skin tone. You will have to recreate it and do pictures for IG. I would love to see it.
That eye look sounds amazing! I’m glad you got your hands on an authentic Jealousy Wakes.
Skin Tone/Coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, salt & pepper hair
Favorite look: EYES: ABH Brow Wiz and Clinique Brow Shaper on brows, Dior Backstage Cool Eyeshadow Palette (Matte Mauve in crease, Matte Plum in outer V, Shimmer Lilac on lids, Shimmer Pink on brow bone), Chanel Stylo Yeux Eyeliner in Charme smudged under lower lashes, Sephora Colorful Contour Eye Pencil in Black Lace in upper lashline, NYX Worth the Hype Mascara. FACE: Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup, Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, Laura Mercier Translucent Powder, Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in Pink Explosion plus a swipe of Dior Hologlam on top to add sparkle, Dior Nude Luminizer in Pink Glow on cheekbones. LIPS: Chanel Pirate.
Most Used Products: Just my usuals
Beauty Discoveries: Dior Hologlam blush doesn’t work well on its own on me (for some strange reason), but a swipe or two over another shade adds beautiful sparkle and dimension.
???? ???? ????/????????: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
???????? ???? ???? ??? ????: ???? — Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Coloured Raine Side of Olives (crease and wrapped around to lower lid); halo eye with Unexpected; Glamour (cent of halo); Forbidden (lower lashline over UD 24/7 Eye Pencil in Junkie). Looxi Beauty HL in Celestial (brow bone). Medusa’s Makeup Totally Baked Eyeshadow in Bitchin’ (inner corner). UD 24/7 Eye Pencil in Perversion (upper & lower waterlines) and Troublemaker Mascara. ???? — KVD Studded Kiss Lipstick in Noble. ?????? — Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Buff; Medusa’s Makeup Totally Baked Eyeshadow in Bitchin’ (as HL).
???? — NYX Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer; Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Long Wear Foundation in 90 Ivoire N; Guerlian Meteorites Pearls in Clair (02); Sephora Tranquil (as contour); City Color Cosmetics Intense Exposure Highlighting Powder; e.l.f. Original Mist and Set.
???? ???? ???? ??????? ???? ????: usual dailies
??? ?????? ??????????? (??? ?? ???): I’m loving a really strong metallic gold highlight on my cheek bones right now with a more natural HL for other parts of my face. This adds a lot of dimension and impact.
I bought the MAC Shiny Pretty Things Lip Set on sale for Russian Red and Flat Out Fabulous. I didn’t think I’d care much for Kinda Sexy looking at it in the tube, but it works really well on me. It’s kind of a peachier take on the UD 1993-type browns that I love to wear.
I ordered the new ColourPop It’s My Pleasure Palette, and I have high hopes that it’ll be a great purple eyeshadow palette. I’m also interested in the upcoming 9-pan Viseart palette releasing in February that has a cooler purples and neutrals. The sneak peek photos look promising.
OMG, I had to Google the new Viseart Liaison palette immediately and it does indeed look stunning! 😀
Yes, that’s the one! Thanks — I couldn’t remember the name.
Favorite look worn: I continue to not really be interested in putting on a full face of makeup. I did have to wear makeup one day as I was taking my brother to Missoula for his follow up appointment since having both of his hips replaced the first part of December. I did a very basic neutral look which I actually quite liked. I used a sample of Clinique Ever Better Glow Foundation which I didn’t find to be glowy at all. For blush I used Chantecaille Philanthropy Blush in Butterfly Bliss and highlighter was the Chantecaille 20th anniversary powder. It is more of a finishing powder but gives me a very subtle highlight on the tops of my cheeks. I have used it all over the face and it works well for me that way also. On the eyes I used the Pony Glam palette but left my inner and middle of my mobile lid without any shadow. I used the two cooler toned shades in my crease and transition and the deeper brown shade on the outer third. I also used the deeper brown to create a brown wing that I started from my lower lash line and winged out connecting the upper crease line. I am not really able to use traditional winged liner and watched a video by Karima McKimmie on YT and she showed three different ways to make a wing from the lower lash line thus not using up any of your lid space. I tightlined with Urban Decay Perversion 24/7 pencil. I have been using the Thrive Causemetics mascara and the more I am using it the more I am enjoying it. Usually by now, I have packed in any new shadow and reverted to my old standby’s Cover Girl SS and Benefit Roller Lash. On my lips I used Pat McGrath Major Red lip pencil and I over-lined my upper lip slightly. Neither my upper or lower lips is very large and I feel like they give me a sort of pinched look, like I am disapproving all the time. My daughter hates when I over-line because she thinks it looks like my lipstick is bleeding, which I do see her point. So, I only over-lined the upper lip and that seemed to work better.
Most used product: That would be the Pony Glam palette and the tester of Clinique foundation. The young SA at Dillard’s gave me a very generous sample. I am not wowed by it but it isn’t bad either. I also tried the Peach Perfect Foundation from Too Faced in a sample and that didn’t work at all for me.
New beauty discoveries: That would be the liner technique from Karima’s video.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair/cool
Favorite look from the week: none
Your most used product this week: just the basics, Tatcha Primer, MUFE HD foundation, random blush that I’m trying to use up, a bare minerals lip sample, a random black eyeliner I’m trying to use up, same with a random black mascara I’m trying to use up
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): none
We had a cold snap and snow this week and I came down with a head cold, I only ran out to the store on Monday before the snow hit, after that I cocooned at home. I’m really enjoying reading what everyone else did though. Next week I will be taking care of my husband’s shop while he is away so I will be doing my makeup.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light medium, yellow undertones. Dark brown hair & eyes.
Favorite look from the week: I did a green eye, which is very unusual for me! I used the Colourpop Through My Eyes palette – Nostalgia and Wild Soul blended out over my orbital bone, Canela as a transition, Moody and Emerald Dream layered over three quarters of my mobile lid, Lucido in the inner third, Divina to deepen the crease and WnW Brulee up to my brow bone. DB curling mascara and Prestige Daring Green eyeliner.
Cheeks were TheBalm Desert Balm topped with Double Take from the BH Cosmetics Duolight palette. Lips were a very old NYX Black Label lipstick in Diva, a nudey rose. I also tested out some samples of the Nars Radiant Longwear foundation but it seems to have a tendency to transfer, even if set with powder.
Your most used product this week: Colourpop Razzle Dazzle lippie balm – it’s very good, I like it more than Bite’s Agave lip mask. It seems more watermelon-y flavoured than raspberry to me tho…
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): I pulled out a whole bunch of stored lipsticks – tossed a few that smelt bad, disinfected the rest and put them in the top of my drawer so I will make myself use them. A dozen NYX Black label, some Chanel Hydrabases, Guerlain (I found 1/2 stick of Gems!!! Still good!) and some Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Colours among other things, including an old Rouge Dior in Mauve Mirza, which I had forgotten all about and is incredible.
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair neutral, prefer to use cooler tones
Favorite look from the week: My aunt’s 60th birthday party look! I wanted to look very good in photos, but we were also going bowling so I wanted it to last a long time. I pulled a no-no by using a new product though. On my eyes were Huda Rose Gold Remastered’s Suede in the crease & Pink Diamond on the center 1/3 of my lid. I used Smashbox’s Headliner for the inner 1/3.
On the face was the new L’Oreal concealers, which are turning into a miss for me to be honest, in the lightest and second lightest shades. However, the Armani Luminous Silk in 2 did help for at least a good skin day. I blended them all together with a Sephora concealer brush then buffed out lines with my BB. I set the whole face with Flour Powder from Beauty Bakerie. I used my new favorite mix of Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk & Hourglass Diffused Heat blushes.
On my lips I put on MAC Whirl & Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria, which lasted until the macaroni and cheese balls came out.
Your most used product this week: MUFE Completely Sepia liner.
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): Hourglass Diffused Heat is sneaking into my normal rotation.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair/cool skin, gray eyes, brown hair with red highlights and scattered blonde/blue strands.
Favorite look from the week: My Orville-inspired look, which I’ve worn for the last 2 episodes: KVD Chad on lid, UD Baja in crease, UD Deep End mascara, Tarte Unstoppable blush, L’Oreal Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Eva’s Red lipstick.
Your most used product this week: Probably Eva’s Red.
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): Fenty Pro Filt’r 110 is my absolute perfect foundation! It completely disappears into my skin and dries so nicely I don’t need powder. I gave it a long-haul test (an 8-hour day at work and beyond, plus the winter storm making the weather dry and incredibly cold) yesterday and it ended up lasting for 19 hours! (8am-3am-I’m a night owl/mild insomniac)
