Guerlain Electric Light Terracotta Copper Bronzing Powder Review & Swatches
Electric Light
Guerlain Electric Light Terracotta Copper Bronzing Powder ($56.00 for 0.30 oz.) is a light-medium gold with strong, warm undertones and a luminous sheen. This was more like a highlighter than a bronzer, though very fair skin tones may find it to be a light bronzer. The pigmentation was mostly opaque and buildable to full coverage with a second layer. It had a firmer, smooth consistency that wasn’t as finely-milled as I’d expect from the brand’s past powder releases, so it needed a slightly heavier hand to pick up product with a brush. The powder applied evenly to bare skin and blended out easily, though, and it didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.
Like most Guerlain Terracotta products, it is heavily scented with floral (violet, per the brand) notes–when I say heavily scented, I mean leaving it open perfumes a room, and it is noticeable applied.

Whenever I notice a new Temptalia review of Guerlain I think, “Uh oh, how much will this cost me?” But I’m not interested in this one, thank goodness. And, although B+ is a good rating, for $56, it really should be an A.
It looks stunning applied. But, oh man, if it perfumes an entire room? It’ll have me in sneezing fits if I put this on my face, I think!
A good shades, but I think it is unnecessary to perfume a makeup product like this.
WOW perfumes a whole room. I mean I love my Guerlain Meteorites scent but if I leave the top off it doesn’t perfume the room. Even if I could wear this shade I wouldn’t purchase it for the heavy scent alone. I obviously don’t mind scent but in smaller doses.
Christine, how would you compare this to the new holiday Marc Jacobs luminizer?
You can compare any two swatches in the Swatch Gallery – https://www.temptalia.com/side-by-side/?sbs_1_search=Marc+Jacobs+Beauty+Gilty&sbs_1=358718&sbs_2_search=Guerlain+Electric+Light&sbs_2=363291
