Marc Jacobs O!Mega Eyeshadows & Glam Glitter Highliners Swatches
Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Gel Powder Eyeshadow ($29.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a new, permanent powder eyeshadow formula that’s big claim to fame is that it’s “double the size” of the average eyeshadow single (which it is, but I’m curious what the split is of customers who have been longing for mega-sized pans of eyeshadow… I remember Guerlain used to boast this claim, too, and those disappeared many years ago). There are nine shades across three finishes (matte, satin, and shimmer).
There’s also a new take on their Highliner Gel Crayons; Marc Jacobs Beauty Glam Glitter Highliner is the newest finish, and it is available in seven shades. You’ll find swatches in this post for all shades of the new eyeshadows and eyeliners.
If Gemstoned is good, I’m sure you’re going to love it a lot!
Yeeaahhh unless the eyeshadow formula is your absolute favorite and in a shade you absolutely love & use all the time, what’s the big selling point here? ? but this is coming from someone who’s never even finished a 0.02oz shadow in a palette!
Unless something is a perfect dupe for MAC Orb, I do not believe I have any real need for a blush sized eyeshadow! LOL
I do love Glitterbug Highliner, though! It has a beautiful depth to it. Just a nice rich taupe with glitter. Yeah. ?
You’re right Christine. Unless there is a colour that is used daily/very often, personally I will have a hard time reaching pan. Such a colour might be Perfect-O, used as base, which is good in case someone has ES palettes that have no base colour. I love the golden rose Prim-O (I think it brings a lot of luminosity to the eye and I can see myself wearing it very often) and Brav-O paired with O MG is a very beautiful combo for fall.
Also, I love their Highliner Gel Crayons (excellent staying power); eyeing Glitz Blitz and Glitterbug. Waiting for your reviews though before making any purchase .
Even though I don’t wear glitter, the Glitz Blitz liner is so gorgeous that I must check it out in store. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a warm pink liner like that, and it has less glitter than the others so might be ok or worth it. Hope it reviews well and the glitter isn’t so much it risks irritating my contacts.
The eyeshadows swatch well and are good basics, but none strike me enough to merit the amount/price.
Having a larger size eyeshadow isn’t something I can say I’ve been looking for since I have more than I can handle. However, I think it’s smart that there’s a nice variety of basic workhorse shades included because if I were going to spend on a pricy single, that’s what it would be.
That Glitterbug eyeliner is calling my name!! ? If it gets a good review, it’s going to the top of my wishlist.
What a cute cat avatar you have!
Agree – that’s a cute avatar!
Thanks ? it’s a silly picture my daughter sent me and it just speaks to me!
Yes Christine, I wonder about why the brand is bringing out mega single shadeows in very dupable shades, as most do not finish anything in their palettes. I do like the look of their eye crayons – very pretty shades.
I’m not clamoring for large sizes either, but the more transition-y shade colors – Big O, Daddi O or the base shade Perfect-O could absolutely be useful in that larger pan to throw in your bag with a palette that is lacking one of those. The other colors look nice, but I just don’t think you need a pan that big of them.
Given their shimmer highlighters being a bit more prone to drying out, I’m not entirely sure I’m excited for these glitter liners, but Glitterbug is gorgeous!
Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, my eyes eat MJ liners. (I’d have every last one, if they worked…) The colors are always so swell… Huge singles, uh, no. But that gray has been done so poorly by such good companies, that I might have to score it. It seems that the singles are consistently good across the board, where as some palette shades have been quite iffy. Like most of your readers, I struggle to dent, much less hit pan. Biggies would be a silly investment. These would be great for the one and done crowd, those that have a favorite shade represented here.
Bigger eye shadows? I wonder who asked for this, lol. Glam Jam and Glitterbug eye liners look pretty!
We can barely finish a regular size eyeshadow pan. Why would we commit to an Omega ?!
I would never buy a mega-sized single eyeshadow.
Gemstoned and Glitterbug are really pretty.
Once upon a time I wore a shimmery champagne eyeshadow five or six days a week. That girl would’ve been all over this. Now I’d totally take a big eyeshadow if it was used for my brows and as an eyeliner/contour. None of these stand out to me as something I’d reach for every day, or even a few times a week…though O Mercy looks exceptionally smooth and lovely.
Also kind of bummed that the sneak peak of these in a video made the gray color look like a dusty teal/faded army green color and I was *in to that.* Plain gray, though? No, thanks.
I am not a fan of large tins of shadow. I have a lot of colors, like to use all of them, and it takes YEARS to finish one .07 oz single eyeshadow. I think that having something that big for anything other than basic colors is asking to go bankrupt. Nahhhh, give me smaller!
Formula looks good, but I need other colors. Fall or not, they are so tired looking to me. I do like the Glitterbug pencil and Dynam-o (a solid grey there!)
