Tom Ford Rouge Metal & Ultra VIolet Lip Lacquer Liquid Metal Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Rouge Metal
Tom Ford Beauty Rouge Metal Lip Lacquer Liquid Metal ($54.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark orange-red with warm undertones and flecks of gold and copper sparkle and finer shimmer. The pigmentation was nearly opaque and applied evenly and smoothly across my lips without streaking. It had a lightweight, smooth, and comfortable consistency that was easy to wear, but it was somewhat tacky, which may be a deal-breaker for some. This shade stayed on well for six hours and was hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$54.00/0.09 oz. - $600.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be a "liquid-gel" that optically "plumps" the lips due to the "mirror-like" finish. It is supposed to be "long-wearing" with "stay-true color" that is hydrating. They are fairly pigmented with most shades being opaque in one layer. The texture was smooth, light-medium in thickness but felt lightweight, and had moderate tackiness, though I'd say less tackiness than most other formulas I've tried that are similar (other opaque, metallic glosses). The wear ranged from five to six hours, and my lips felt hydrating during and after wear. They had a soft, sweet vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Ultra Violet
Tom Ford Beauty Ultra Violet Lip Lacquer Liquid Metal ($54.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a dark burgundy with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had semi-opaque color payoff that applied somewhat evenly; it was the worst performer in the six shades from the launch. The texture felt smooth and lightweight going on, but I just couldn’t seem to prevent the color from slipping into my lip lines, and the lack of opacity made every imperfection in the application more glaring. The formula was comfortable to wear as it was rather moisturizing over the five and a half hours it wore for.

Ultra-violet is gorgeous, although it’s name doesn’t fit at all.
Rouge Metal is such a sexy schmexy shade of glowing red! Woe is me, I’ve fallen in love with it. But I have UD Cruel and Wildfire. I love both of those. They do not last 6 hours and have this type of embers glowing from inside a candied apple effect.
Since when did “Ultra” mean “Not”?
Oh dear. More lovely lip products! I want them both, but decided yesterday that I’m not going to spend.$54 on a lip product.
Well this isn’t good for my wallet. I bought Pink Sabre secretly hoping I’d hate it but I loooove it and am wearing it today, and Ultra Violet looks even more beautiful. These are $70 in Canada plus 13% tax, so OUCH.
