Skin Tone/Coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, dark hair with some gray
Favorite Look Worn: A two-shade look that accented my green eyes—someone actually asked me if I was wearing color contact lenses—using Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette (Caregiver on lid, Best Friend softly blended on crease with heavier application on outer V), Chanel Stylo Yeux Eyeliner in Charme to tightline the upper lash line, RCMA No Color Powder, Clinique Blushing Blush in Cupid, and Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick in Mademoiselle (one of my most favorite lipsticks in my collection). Plus my everyday usuals: Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup in Desert Beige, Tarte Shape Tape Concealer in Light Neutral, Clinique Brow Shaper in Charcoaled, ABH Brow Wiz in Granite, Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara.
Most Used Product: Just my everyday usuals. I wore different lipstick, blush, and eyeshadow every day.
New Beauty Discoveries: I received a sample of Guerlain Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil and tried it one night after washing my makeup off. It kept my face surprisingly hydrated and soft all night, and didn’t break me out. I would love to get it, but it’s extremely expensive. I hope I can find something similar, but more affordable (suggestions welcome!).
My skin tone/coloring: Light medium, yellow undertones. Dark brown hair and eyes.
Favorite look worn: A mauve, taupe and rose eye look, using ND Lila and some Colourpop singles with Zoeva Taupe eyeliner, blended soft peach matte (Sexy) and shimmery violet (Drama) blushes from the Morphe Cool Pro palette on cheeks, and used Nivea lip shine in Blackberry for the slightest hint of lip colour.
Most used product of the week: Colourpop Dreamboat eyeshadow – I think I used it every day this week.
Any new beauty discoveries: That the best brushes I’ve found for applying and blending out ND shadows are the cheap elf ones with the white handles.
My skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Favorite look you worn: With my mom in the hospital, I can’t remember exactly what I’ve worn this week. It’s a blur. So I’ll just pick today’s, which I am really happy with.
EYES: UD Primer Potion in Enigma. ColourPop Pretty Much Pressed Powder Pigment Palette — Cool It (crease nearly up to the brows); Neither Do I (outer corner, true crease, lower lashline); Ya Bish (brow bone); Otp (lid); MUG HL in Celestial (inner corner). ABH e/s single in Love Letter (brows). Physician’s Formula Sexy Booster Va Va Voom Mascara. LIPS — UD Seismic. CHEEKS — Physician’s Formula Butter Blush in Plum Rose; MUG HL in Celestial. FACE — Nyx Angel Veil; e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation in LIght Ivory; e.l.f. HD Powder; Sephora Tranquil (contour); City Color Cosmetics Intense Exposure Highlighting Powder; e.l.f. Original Mist & Set.
Most used product of the week: Purple eyeshadows; Physician’s Formula Butter Blush in Plum Rose; my dailies.
Any new beauty discoveries: Reine Rebelde is now at Target. I got the eye color quad in Salvaje (brights), and it swatches well. Hopefully, I’ll get time soon to play with it. I LOVE the design on the packaging.
Rachel, I hope your Mum is getting better, is her hospital far away from you?
It must be quite a worry.
Rachel, I’m sorry your mom is unwell and in hospital. I hope all goes well with her – keeping you and your mom in my thoughts.
Rachel, praying for your mom and family. I
m so sorry that she is in the hospital
My skin tone/coloring: fair/cool, brown hair and eyes
Favorite look you worn: I did a cat eye with the new Smashbox rose gold black eyeliner, it didn’t have any noticeable rose gold sparkle in it but I needed a new black eyeliner so this is it I guess.
Most used product of the week: I finished my Fenty foundation sample and I don’t think I will purchase it, I prefer my MUFE foundation. Foundation, mac cover up, blush, mascara, powder. All the usuals nothing new.
Any new beauty discoveries: I got into my shipment of PMG Lip glosses and used paraphernalia with my cat eye, it was a nice neutral to go with it. A little bit of sparkle in the gloss not over the top. Looking forward to trying out the rest.
My skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Favourite look you worn: I really love the new Hourglass Ravine Graphik eyeshadow palette, but it is very expensive here, so I thought I would dupe the shades with my own stash. Considering I don’t really use the lightest and the darkest shades, it was easy: the True Chocolate and A Ha from bareMinerals Soft and Smokey and Rose Gold from Lorac Pro Palette. The Rose Gold all over the lid, the A-Ha over the top and True Chocolate in the crease. I paired with the Milani Tuscan Toast lipstick.
Most used product of the week: bareMinerals Soft and Smokey and Lorac Pro Metals palette.
Any new beauty discoveries:
A couple this week – first of all I started using the Burt’s Bees Sensitive Cleansing Milk and I am thinking that this is my holy grail cleanser. No perfumes, no nasties, cruelty free and it even gets my mascara off.
Secondly that you don’t buy a new eyeshadow palette until you have really shopped your stash for the favourite shades.
My skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Favorite look you wore: the left/more glittery side of Nars Kalahari duo (with Lise Watier Chic Glam as a base); Stila Puppy in the crease, Sephora black pencil to line and MJ Skinny black pencil on upper waterline; rediscovering Sephora concealer, which I haven’t used in months; MAC Craving lipstick and my go-to Dior blush.
Most used product of the week: Hourglass loose powder both to set my concealer and dusted over my whole face (I’m not bothering with foundation); La Roche Posay Anthelios fluid sunscreen (the lightest weight/most liquid-y one)
Any new beauty discoveries: Ren Wake Wonderful night-time facial (and by the time I went to pick it up at Sephora, it had been reduced almost half in price!)
Skintone / coloring : light, MAC NC 15 – 20, med brown hair and eyes
Favorite look worn :
MAC Bronze in crease. Sun, Tan & Repeat (from Mirage Noir collection ) on eyelid. MAC Power Kohl Pencil in Raven on upper lashline. Benefit Rollerlash Mascara. NARS Laguna Bronzer to contour and all over. Clinique Cheek Pop in Heather Pop on cheeks. MAC Twig on lips.
Most Used Product : Benefit Rollerlash. It’s just ok. NARS Laguna Bronzer. Maybelline Better Skin Pressed Powder.
New Beauty Discoveries: I’m still not a purple fan but I’ve warmed up to plums esp when paired w more bronzey tones
My skin tone/coloring: fair/cool skin, gray eyes, brown hair with red highlights and scattered blonde and blue strands.
Favorite look you worn: Thursday-Urban Decay Gonzo and Chaos (from Electric palette) and Kat Von D Carolyn (from 10th Anniversary palette) all on top of each other (if I combine those 3 shades again I’ll probably put each one on a different part of my eye), CoverGirl Katy Kat Eye Perry Blue mascara, Black Radiance Perfect Tone Matte Hollywood Glam lipstick. Also, since Thursday was Red Nose Day, I wore the Red Nose Day beads I bought at Walgreens a couple years ago and brushed UD Slowburn onto my nose to fit the theme.
Most used product of the week: My usual base products.
Any new beauty discoveries: I actually look good with layered foundations-my family did our Memorial Day grave decorating today and I couldn’t decide between my L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion C3 Creamy Natural (it’s light) or my UD All Nighter 2.5 (it’s waterproof), so I wore both. Also, KVD Studded Kiss Creme in Crush is the same shade of pink as a thistle.
