Luce (101)

Giorgio Armani Luce (101) Ecstasy Lacquer ($38.00 for 0.20 oz.) is a light-medium peach with warm undertones and golden pearl. It is a new shade for spring, and it was described as having “its pigment levels … reduced” with the addition of “mother-of-pearl.” It had semi-sheer coverage with a healthy helping of shimmer and a ridiculous amount of shine. The texture was lightweight, almost watery initially, and was easy to spread across my lips. It developed into a more gel-like, plusher consistency within a few minutes of wear (which was when I took photos). It wore well for six and a half hours, was lightly hydrating, and was comfortable to wear. The longwear was what set this type of gloss apart from others like it.

Between the high-shine, even shimmer distribution, and long, comfortable wear time, I’ve set it aside as a personal go-to for one-and-done shades as it’ll go with just about any look.

Formula Overview

$38.00/0.2 oz. - $190.00 Per Ounce

The Ecstasy Lacquer formula is supposed to have the shine of a gloss, color and hydration of a lipstick, and the long-wear of a stain, though they say “applied in a single layer for a subtle touch of color … or in a layered application for a bold, statement lip.”

It has a floral scent, which is noticeable in the tube and for an hour or so of wear (particularly strong when it is drying down). There is a slight taste to me, as well. Initially, the formula is thin and more water-like, but after you’ve applied it, the consistency thickens, levels out, and “adheres” to your lips in a very comfortable wear. The consistency is mostly non-sticky and gradually gets a lightly tacky about half-way through wear.

Tangerine (300)

Giorgio Armani Tangerine (300) Ecstasy Lacquer ($38.00 for 0.20 oz.) is a bright, medium orange-red with warm undertones and a glossy finish. It had medium pigmentation and looked and performed a lot like a stain would with respect to coverage. There was an even layer of translucency that gave it a glossy, stained glass kind of appearance. The texture was watery initially but developed to a gel-like, plush consistency that became lightly tacky after a few hours of wear. There was a smidgen of product that sat in my deeper lip lines, but the effect was smoothing of my finer lip lines overall. This shade lasted for six hours, left a stain behind, and was lightly moisturizing.

Pink-out (504)

Giorgio Armani Pink-out (504) Ecstasy Lacquer ($38.00 for 0.20 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark red-plum with warm undertones and multi-colored pearl. The gloss has a water-like consistency initially that then develops to a more gel-like, plush texture that adheres smoothly and wears for an exceptionally long time. It had good color payoff, though it was actually designed to have more buildable coverage, but if you’re someone who prefers more pigmented gloss, then it will be right up your alley. It wore well for seven hours, was lightly hydrating, and comfortable to wear overall.

These remind me of YSL glossy lip stain formula, which I I’ve for. I have a lot of pinks, and reds, but they never have nudes in stock ANYWHERE. So I will be checking out Luce, especially since u said ur setting it aside for continuous use!

I’ve been eyeing this product forever! But couldn’t really justify the price tag & there are not many reviews around. I’m so excited that this review got posted! Looks like I will be adding Luce to my cart for the Sephora sale 🙂 Are you going to be reviewing the rest of the shades on the line?

Because of this review I rushed to my Sephora and bought Loce! I know I get 15% off tomorrow but my sephora with Armani is a 45 min drive away, and I want to wear this tomorrow… so Id rather pay an extra $4-5 which id spend on gas anyways lol. I LOVE IT! I agree it lasts very well and always looks wet and the shimmer is amazing.

Luce and Pink Out both made it into my VIB sale order this morning! Super excited to get them! One weird thing – Pink Out had a ground shipping restriction (like hairspray does) and Luce didn’t. Doesn’t matter in the grand scheme, but I thought it was odd!
