Burn Notice (370)

Marc Jacobs Beauty Burn Notice (370) Le Marc Liquid Lip Crayon ($26.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark reddish copper with warm undertones and gold pearl. It took almost 15 minutes for this shade to dry down to a mostly matte finish, and it was still smudging after 45 minutes on my arm. The texture was smooth, creamy, and quite emollient when applied to the lips, which helped achieve comfortable, full coverage color payoff. I was happy to see that it did not pull into lip lines a lot like a few of the other shades. This was one of the better applying shades overall. It wore well for nine hours on me and felt neither drying nor hydrating over time.

Formula Overview

$26.00/0.07 oz. - $371.43 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have "16-hour wear" with "one-swipe color" that has "ghost pearl" that gives it a "dimensional sheen." It is supposed to be a "liquid lipstick" but in a pencil form, so there is an actual dry down, though it seemed to take quite awhile to dry down on my arm (sometimes the swatch was still smudging after 30 minutes) and significantly less time applied to the lips (five to ten minutes). The texture was incredibly creamy where the pencil tip felt like it was melting as soon as I started to work with it (I might say that it was too soft). It was easy to apply product onto the lips, and the majority of the shades were nearly opaque to opaque in one layer. Some shades had a tendency to sit in my lip lines more than others. They felt lightweight after they dried down, and they were transfer-resistant until I ate. The wear time was eight to twelve hours, depending on how much eating was done. There was no scent or taste.

Merlot Blow (380)

Marc Jacobs Beauty Merlot Blow (380) Le Marc Liquid Lip Crayon ($26.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a deep plum with subtle, warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. This took almost 15 minutes to dry down fully on my lips. The texture was creamy and emollient going on, and it did dry down partially in a short period of time. The color appeared patchy and seemed to clump together on the lips as it dried down and looked crumbly overall. It lasted for eight hours on me from what I could tell, as it always looked a bit uneven and patchy, so any signs of wear were harder to detect initially!
