Sneak Peek: Chanel Le Signe du Lion Illuminating Highlighter & Powder Highlighter Swatches
Chanel Or Blanc Le Signe du Lion Illuminating Highlighter
For the holiday shopping week that is Black Friday/Cyber Monday, Chanel released two limited edition highlighters–Or Blanc and Or Rose–along with a limited edition blush–Blush Camelia Peche (reviewed here). The blush has sold out, and while I hope to get reviews of the two highlighters up quickly, I wanted to share swatches even sooner.
When I bought the blush on Monday, I also saw that they had two new (seemingly permanent!) highlighters, too, which I’ve included below, but anyone who doesn’t like sparkle/glitter in their highlighter will likely find Ivory Gold and Rosy Gold too much.
My obsessive compulsive tendencies can’t get past the fact that pale pink lion is not correctly oriented in the compact.
The blush is undeniably pretty but again, some of the line impressions between colour and pattern are off.
Why yes, I am a picky b!#@&… 😉
I saw the exact same thing. Second hand embarrassment for Chanel. For that kind of money, it’s got to be perfect.
If I’m paying big $$$, I do expect it to be perfect – spendy lipstick brands that have bubbles or sloppy imprints (cough, Tom Ford, cough) in the colour bullet just disappoint me. If I’m pay for luxury, I expect LUXURY. Otherwise you’re just paying for ego.
Guerlain is consistently good at their presentation quality control but lately Chanel, Tom Ford and those new slimline Hourglass lipsticks have all been lacking for me. If Colourpop can put out a decent quality product for $5, then high end brands expecting 10x that amount need to be at the top of their game.
Guerlain actually botched their holiday palette release in a way that (to me) is pretty anti-customer and made me lose respect for them as a brand. The holiday palette had a small print on top of some of the powder products in the promotional imagery. The one I purchased from Nordstrom had the print on it, but another customer bought two from retailers and neither had the print – but the quality of theirs was better. They reached out to Guerlain, and Guerlain said that there were two batches. The first batch, with the print, was made in one factory and was not up to the quality standards of Guerlain, and the second batch was made by a different factory of higher quality but they could not do the print. Except they still sold the inferior, poorly made palette and charged full price for it – it was so bad that they did another run/batch and yet they still sold the first?
I was not aware of this – I appreciate you letting me know 🙂
I am astounded that they would admit it was not up to standard but that they sold it anyway – that is shockingly bad! I haven’t bought Guerlain in a wee while and I will certainly keep this in mind.
Thanks!
Yeah, I was really bummed to hear about it 🙁
How disappointing!
That is awfull!
I didn’t notice, but I had to scroll up and check. You are so right and now I’ve seen it it actually bothers me. I guess you aren’t the only one with a bit of OCC tendencies. 🙂
Maybe he’s just tipping his head during his roar like the MGM lion ?
As I am not averse to wearing a sparkly highlight, Or Blanc and Or Rose intrigue me! I’ll be patiently waiting for your formal review on them, and especially the dupe list to make sure I don’t buy something I already have shade wise.
Looking forward to those highlighter reviews!
I love that peach blush, but I’d never use it because I wouldn’t want to wear down the imprint. Its so pretty.
Looking forward to the review of the peach blush, i want to see if I have any of the dupes. It’s a pretty color, and I love the print on the blush.
