MAC Lion Babe Liquidlast Liner
MAC Lion Babe Liquidlast Liner ($21.00 for 0.084 fl. oz.) is described as a “shimmering gold.” It’s a bright, medium-dark coppery gold with warm, orange undertones and a metallic sheen. Chanel Cuivre Dore (52) (LE, $34.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Copper Charge (Metallic) (PiP, ) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer (90% similar). Urban Decay Scorch (DC, $22.00) is darker, more muted (85% similar). Urban Decay Amber (LE, $22.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). ColourPop Nut (LE, $7.00) is less shimmery, lighter, more muted (85% similar). Sephora Golden Hour (59) (P, $11.00) is less shimmery, darker, cooler (85% similar). MAC Naked Bond (P, $25.00) is lighter (85% similar). MAC Cockiness (LE, ) is darker, less pigmented (90% similar). MAC Copperthorn (P, $16.00) is more shimmery (85% similar). Sephora Bronze Metallic (P, $13.00) is less shimmery, darker, more muted (80% similar). ColourPop Macrame (LE, $7.00) is less shimmery, darker, more muted (80% similar). The Liquidlast Liner formula is supposed to have “long-lasting wear with a non-smudge, non-flake” formula. It was richly pigmented with a thin consistency that spread easily but sometimes looked a little streaky, so I preferred using it with two layers to ensure smooth, even color. The brush is thin and fine, so it can be used for more precise lines as well as for building-up to thicker lines. The Liquidlast formula is very, very long-wearing–it basically doesn’t budge until it’s time to remove it. I had it on for over twelve hours, and it didn’t budge, fade, or flake. This shade will be released no April 28th as an online exclusive to maccosmetics.com.

The color is soo gorgeous and so apt for warmer tone girls.
It would be great for anyone who likes warm-toned liners!
I don’t know if I would ever wear it, but it is so pretty!
It is!
That swatch looks terrific. I like putting a fine shimmer liquid liner like this above a black one.
That would be gorgeous!
Woah, looks soooo beautiful!
I totally agree!
Wow, this looks like it would be great for a bronze-y goddess, perfect for summer! I think I need to check this out…..
It would be! Very warm and rich.
Wauw, this is such a beautiful color! Love!
It is! I’m always puzzled as to why MAC discontinued all their colorful Liquidlast shades.
Perhaps because now we all run to get this one? 😉
This is really pretty! I’m glad it did well! ?
Me too 🙂
Alright totally buying this tomorrow!!! And redeeming that $10 off $50 deal! Mac sure is aiming for a comeback aren’t they?
Enjoy it, Bonnie!! 🙂
Pretty!! I think it would be cute to create a golden/bronze winged eye
I agree!
I definitely need this!! Love that it’s a more orange-toned gold instead of yellow-toned, and the Liquidlast formula is really budge-proof, one of my favorites. They used to have a lot more colors but now it seems they only have black permanently.
They did! I never understood why they discontinued ALL of the other shades.
Me neither!! There were some beautiful colors. Do you remember that bright metallic turquoise they had? One of my all time favorite liners and it’s so hard to find a dupe that’s as bright and reflective as that one.
Ooooh, I like that. 🙂
It’s nice!
I’d love to see this shaped into a dramatic wing 😮
I bet it would be pretty!
I bet it perfect for an inner highlight for a bold look.
It would be!
This is definitely my cup of tea! Love how it really looks like liquid, molten metal. Wonder, though, whether it’s waterproof? Because whatever’s in my allergy tears destroys anything that isn’t!
Waterproof for me!
Oh my, I think I need this one! It’s so beautiful and I like pairing it over a dark line like Wwendy said. I think it would look nice over a rich brown line too.
On another note, I got an emai from NARS today about your reviews of their summer line. Very cool!
I will say that it doesn’t layer as well, mostly because it’s SO opaque, but it will go nicely next to a brown eyeliner! 🙂
Thanks!
Hello Christine
i think I have overseen from which LE it is. I Do not use a liner very often so think My attention was on the other products.
Totally understand, Kylie! 🙂
I see why you gave this an A – it’s so pretty!
It is!
A dupe for Pat McGrath’s gold liner perhaps? Love that this is more affordable and easier to get.
Possibly!
I.Must.Have.This.
Enjoy, Alicia!
Wow – what a gorgeous gold colour. It is just beautiful.
It is really lush!
Congrats on the shout-out from Nars! I thought it was kinda awesome being mentioned:-) Got the usual email from them, but this one said, “Read Temptalia’s Rave Reviews”! I was like, whaaat…! Cool!
Thank you! 🙂
This is so gorgeous, and with such a a great review, I will definitely be picking this up! Thanks Christine. I can totally see myself rocking this all summer.
My pleasure, Primpcess!
This is so stunning and perfect for warm skin tones!
Agreed!
Lovely eyeliner. I think I will have to get this one. So much fun one can have with interesting colours like this instead of my usual black
It’s very rich!
This is so gorgeous, and I’m so tempted to get it, but I already have Urban Decay’s 24/7 liner in El Dorado and I’m worried they might be too similar. Thanks for reviewing!
I think El Dorado might be a little more golden, but if you don’t wear that often, then I would agree that it might not make sense to have both!
Thanks for responding! I wear liner so infrequently, I just don’t think it’s worth it. It’s beautiful, though!
