I’m so happy about having a local Sephora now! I love the Long lasting kohl pencils from Sephora and recently the By Terry Kohl in Secret Brown has been my go-to! That’s the closest I’ve had for an eyeliner which stays put on the waterline for atleast a few hours!

Greens and golds are my go-to colors in spring! Ulta’s automatic liner in Olive is my holy grail green because it really brightens my eyes behind my glasses. My gold-family color of choice is ColourPop Get Paid–rosy golds are soooo lovely with my hazel eyes.

One of my favorite things to do in the spring is a gradient wing instead of a full eye look, just to keep it visually clean, so I’ll use one of my liners as a base and layer different shadows on top. My current favorite combo is Olive with a satin emerald at the end and a shimmery gold near the inner corner. Am I the only one who does this?

I only have one of those but I’m actually wearing it right now- Marc Jacobs Highliner in Intro(vert). It really is beautiful and it’s a definite favourite of mine!

I’d love to try some of the Sephora eyeliners but I think that even if they do ship internationally (do they still?) it’s a bit pricey. They seem to be one of your favourite brands, am I right? ?

No, I would love to but I have a wet, teflon waterline–nothing stays on, and I mean nothing, have tried dozens and dozens of pencils, no luck. But I put it on my upper eye lid, and it’s so nice and bright 🙂

I’ve been using UD Lucky and Crash – which have been sadly discontinued. Along with a Milani one in a bronze-y color.
Flirting Game, Love Affair, Sun Tan, and Glance are definitely on the list to get. I’m hoping I can find a dupe for MJ Intro(Vert) since I’m not all that willing to shell out that much even though I love the color.

Actually, I’m on a kick recently of going very neutral with my eyeliner. I have an IT Cosmetics brow pencil (blonde) that is the perfect undertone, but 1 1/2 shades darker than my skin, and I use it as an all-around “cover the dark peach lack of sleep” miracle crayon – waterline as well. It doesn’t brighten, since it’s a bit darker than my skin, but I’m not fond of lighter waterline colors anyway, so it works great for me. And any powder shadow I put over if looks like the same color but a bit darker, so there’s still an emphasis for the area closest to my lashes.

Having said that, looking at these colors makes me want to dig out my colorful liners. The only one of these that I have is Love Affair, but it’s a really nice one, and there was a time when I was using that one with every look. (Actually, I have My Boyfriend’s Jeans, but I have it in the thicker Colorful Shadow and Liner, which I find very difficult to use as a liner. Maybe I’ll have to “spring” for the Contour version.)

Sorry about the pun.

I would love more light to medium neutrals in eyeliner! That would be amazing! Because of the lack, I now have two brow pencils that I use solely as eyeliner, because they’re the only product I could find in the light to medium range. I want to do more neutral, no-makeup eye looks with strong lips and cheeks, but zero eyeliner doesn’t look right on me, and anything darker than medium is no longer “no-makeup.” Frustrating.

If you live near an Ulta, check out Fiona Stiles, in Mulholland, I think the shade name is. It’s fairly even between gray and brown and not too dark. Only swatched them all (there are only a handful of shades,) did not apply. But it wore like iron on the hand, was matte or almost matte. The line looked quite promising for liners. Did not smear at all and required assiduous removal 12 hours later. Might even work on the waterline, though I would not count on it.

I haven’t been using my pencil liners much lately, because I like the way my eyes look just tightlined on top and very lightly lined with a bit of my (not too dark) eyeshadow on the bottom. I really should get Peridot, though — it would be perfect for me — light enough, and I love green eyeshadow. It’s been on my wish list for ages.

Whichever color I use on the inner upper lid all the way across (something pretty light, like D552 Crystalline Gray Beige, or D334 Apple Green), then the medium-dark color I used on the outer lid (like ME554 Gunmetal or D 306 Bottle Green) over it on the outer 1/3 or 2/3.

I always forget that I have Stila pencils in the 2 discontinued “In the…” palettes but this week, I’ve been using Damsel (from In the Light). Can a liner be too soft? I think maybe – I have to be so careful with this one. And I’ve also been reaching for Sephora Surfer Babe – such a bright, fun colour.

MAC rich ground fluidline is my daily go-to. These days also am into NYX Copper #923 (discontinued, but I hoarded a bunch before they disappeared completely); MJ sunset; MUFE artist liner I-22 ‘iridescent turquoise’ (this for spring; winter I use more navy-ish); Colourpop ‘get paid’. Next project: finding a good plum.

I had bought the MJ in Peridot to compliment the YSL Indie Jaspe palette. Peridot has become one of my favs too! The shades in the Sephora Collection picks look so pretty I wish I could wear them. Sadly, the Sephora eyeliners irritate my eyes. I also love the Zoeva shades and would love to try them – are they only available in Australia? Thanks!

KJH Avatar

Zoeva is German. Check their website for shipping. It is probably a flat rate to wherever you live. I’m drop dead dying to rider from them.

KJH Avatar

Just build your list to offset the flat rate. Their brushes/sets are quite well reviewed. Look how fab the Palace Door trio looked on Christine. I’m craving En Taupe and the coordinating brush set, couple of liners, the burning blush. Plan to beef up my brushes. They may charge for shipping, but you don’t get a sales tax, as far as I know.
Please post a link to your blog some time. I’m out of that loop.

KJH, Maybe I’ll take a closer look over the weekend (thanks)! My blog is supposed to be linked here but for some reason it doesn’t show up like others do. Anyway, it’s Binx Cat’s Beauty Blog: http://mmrkt1.wix.com/binxcatsbeautyblog or you can reach it at the shortened link: http://goo.gl/gLT5MH It’s my “hobby” blog since I work full time but I try to get ahead of the curve by ordering new releases immediately. I also link the posts on Instagram and Twitter @Binxcat4ever.

Oh wow! I have every Sephora Contour Pencil shown above, except Flirting Game! I must rectify that….?
I’ve been using Suntan on my lower inner half of lid with Cocoa on the outer half for a beachy, bright-eyed look lately. Also using Sephora Fairytale, My Boyfriend’s Jeans and Nyx Slide-On in Pretty Violet. And I’ve been hitting MAC Siahi and Colourpop Ho Ho a lot recently as well when I want a colorful cat-eye.

I consider myself I bit of an eyeliner junkie, but I don’t have any of these beauties. You have so many pretty greens and blues here. I want to snag some of the new Nyx Vivid Brights liquid liners this spring. I always wear UD 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion and Roach a lot, regardless of season.

For spring, I’m currently loving: PENCIL — UD Asphyxia, Woodstock, Deep End, Mars (LE), and Psychedelic Sister; Maybelline Master Drama Chromatic in Magic Magenta (DC?); Butter London Wink Eye Pencil in Cheerio; L’oreal Infallible Silkissime in True Teal, Pure Purple, and Cobalt Blue; Nyx Eye/Eyebrow Pencil in Emerald City; OCC Cosmetic Colour Pencil in Pool Boy. LIQUID/GEL — Wet n Wild Mega Liner in Case of the Blue (LE); Jordana Cat Eye Liner in Orchard, Caribbean, and Envy; MAC Pro Longwear Fluidline in Blue Peep; Tarte emphasEyes Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner in Blue (DC); Aqualillies for Tarte Waterproof Amazonian Clay Liner in Splash (LE).

I have been using the Marc Jacobs Gel Crayon in the color 0 (Vert) 56 it is a darker green and the exact color of my eyes. I’m wanting the try the color Th(Ink) 44 which is dark purple…but it is constantly sold out as well as the tester! I also use the NYX Wonder Pencil for a nude look. I find the medium is the perfect shade for me, eyes and lips…great product and so inexpensive.
OH…just checked, Marc Jacobs has a complimentary gift with purchase, the eye liner, (mini) in blacquer and a mascara…happy shopping!

Ooh, a few for the wish list. Let’s find some odd ones for spring in the stash. Catrice: Blingo Starr, truly metal and platinum, TooCool for Pool, Hazel the Hoff, and Pearly Bird. The usual suspects from UD. (Think I need the new pink one.) Ether, Mars, LSD, Junkie. A few d/c’d Stilas: cobalt and periwinkle. Violet? And Flirting Game/ Rooftop Party are nice Sephora neutrals. Green and glitter copper retractables. And the matte gels: Fox, steeling hearts, sea if I care. And any other Sephora liner that piques my significant eyeliner fancy. Think I’ll try Ulta store brand, too, and Nyx. After all, there is no such thing as too many liners. Oops, still haven’t gone for any CP. Lotta spring there! Psych!
