I think I have given up on this shade for myself! How do you do the rest of your face? Maybe it’s the brightness/whiteness behind it? IDK. I have MJB Jolly Molly. It’s not even as bright as these. But, I have not worn it out of the house. I’ve been lemming for Claudia too. Beautiful for for spring. But, looks like Cougar is giving it a run for it’s $!
OMG..it looks like they are getting rid of Cougar! It was on sale for $5 and is sold out! 🙁 I wonder if they reformulated because there are a ton of shades.

When in doubt, have you tried a few extra coats of mascara and eyeliner? Maybe something that’s semi-sheer and a little shimmery to brighten the lid but otherwise quite simple? Sometimes you can also up the thickness/contrast of your eyeliner so the eyes aren’t hidden, but they don’t have a lot of color competing with the lips.

Also, I am thinking if Sephora isn’t bananas I may ask for actual asistance on winged liner because I’m going insane with it. So, this may be a good time to try on a cotton candy pink! ??

That’s usually how I wear them. A shimmery nude wash of color or a light pin-up eye, a soft matte pink or nude blush, winged eyeliner in black or or navy or cobalt blue, and 2-3 coats of black mascara.

Same here Nicole! Cotton candy pink lipsticks look horrible on me, totally clash with my yellow undertones, and I think I have to be super pale to pull off the white based pigment. I would never buy one my own, but I got some as GWP lipsticks, uggggh, had to toss them.
A tough color for me because I have a lot of redness. I do like CYY on a good day though. Sephora has a more purplish, more muted one called Love Test which is nice. Hopefully it’s still in the line up!
Candy Yum Yum is fun. I’m glad MAC made that permanent!
Ooh, this is a difficult shade for me to pull off. So far, the only ones even close that have actually looked good, or at least decent, have been UD Turn-On, MAC Pink Nouveau or Pink Pigeon. Beyond those, a big NOPE.
Yet, oddly, I can utterly jump from those I listed above into MAC Heroine or Men Love Mystery, even Matte Royal and look fab! Weird, huh???
Pink Nouveau and Pink Pigeon are certainly close enough to cotton candy, I think 😉
This is a really hard color for me to wear — it’s too light for me, makes me look washed out! About the closest I come is Urban Decay Anarchy, which is a similar color, just darker/maybe brighter.
Anarchy definitely has less of that really strong, bluish tone to it, and more of a darker/fuchsia coloring overall – I can see how it would be easier to do than these!

I think your fair skin and cool undertones would go really nice with a cotton candy color.
Nars Claudia is nice if not put on too heavily on a pale complexion with pinky undertones, I got this lippi about six month ago and use it a lot, it is also nice with a coral gloss or shine transparent type lippi on top as the Claudia is quite mat looking. I think you have to have the right skin tone to wear it though.

This is one of my favorite lipstick shades. I own way too many. lol Cougar is my very favorite of all time, but I thought it had been DC’d. I bought three backups with Sephora.com had them on clearance last year. Did they just change the packaging, or something? I missed out on Kelly Yum Yum, so I was happy to find Cougar as a perfect dupe. I also have and love Candy Yum Yum.

There are some really lovely ones, I haven’t used any of the ones, though, as far as I can remember. It’s been quite some time since I used anything pink, come to think of it.
Candy Yum Yum and Cougar are definite candidates to add to the lipstick collection to pink it up a bit for spring.

Not my favorite shade, though I do have the type of cool-toned skin that can wear it well. I had one from Covergirl I liked a lot, though I can’t recall the name of it. It’s definitely a shade that has to be the center of the look, though. I usually just wear a flick of black eyeliner and mascara to go with it.

This type of pink is one of the few brights that looks terrible on me, so I don’t have a favourite! I stick closer to the fuchsia end of bright pink.
It is interesting how it’s a shade that some love and others really feel like don’t work for them! Yet… it is a color I feel we see very often!
