Long-time MAC fans will recognize this name, as it was released with the MAC Loves Barbie collections many years ago. I remember wearing the life out of this product when I bought it then; it was one of my favorite MAC cheek products. This version is slightly darker with a warmer tone (less pink) compared to the one I have from before; they have a similar sheen, and the color difference is only notable when applied more heavily. The bigger difference is my original has a softer, more buttery consistency, but I didn’t have any issues with the texture of this year’s version practically speaking (the original felt more luxurious). Beauty Powders “can be applied as a highlight, soft blush, or overall finish,” according to MAC. The texture was soft, smooth, and finely-milled, while it had semi-sheer, buildable coverage, which is line with how the product is marketed (“veil of colour”). It adds glowing sheen to the skin without emphasizing pores. This shade lasted for eight hours on me before fading.

Is this LE? Not sure why MAC has to re-release a product with a different color than the original, seems to be happening more and more 🙁

how do these beauty powders compare to Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders as a finishing powder? Are they the same subtlety or are they a bit more pigmented?

I like the peach tone vs pink, and think I will pick one up. Becca Rosegold is too, well, rosy for me and this looks more subtle for my coloring (NC 25-30). Another Christmas present for myself, but it IS LE after all!

I’m confused with beauty powders… I see how it can be a blush, even a color highlight, but as a finish all over the face ? Wouldn’t it be too much color ? I don’t want to look like oompa loompa…

Hi Christine! Do you think this would be ok for a NC42 skin as an all-over powder, just to give that special glow ou it would be a bit too much…Thanks!! 🙂
