Yes, but the Macarons seem to be a bit more pastel / white-based than these. I would really appreciate Umbrella Sky in lipstick tube form, because the palettes get dirty too easily; I have had some cream products in pots in the past and I really did not fancy picking out dust from them – even though I kept everything clean it seemed to be inevitable.
MAC unfortunately is a bit late with the crazy lipstick colours; I would have thought they’d be earlier in this. I think their blue / greens are a tad nicer than NYXs and more shimmery, not so strong, but I would only buy them as real lipsticks.

Are cream colour bases like becca poured? Do you use them like a cream highlighter?
thanks for the sneak peeks even if you don’t get a chance to review the entire collection especially with so many coming at once these little sneak peeks are very helpful in decision making.

Christine Avatar

They’re a multi-use cream product, so it can be used however you want so long as it doesn’t fall into an un-safe area (some of the Cream Colour Bases aren’t eye or lip safe, depends on the shade). Mine is a press sample, so I’m not sure, but it’s likely that this one won’t have safety restrictions since it is a lighter shade (like Luna or Pearl).

Thank you for working do hard! I logged in at 1030 am to get the 3 lipsticks and Linda blush from the Petite collection around 1030am EST and all I could get was Petite red lipstick! I didn’t get the email or the text until about11 am. I didn’t even think the collection was up. I had an early meeting so didn’t worry about looking at 630 am. I like the looks of this .But, at this moment I am mad at Mac. Why make these collections so limited? It makes me want to just stop buying their stuff and just buy something I know I will like and don’t have to stress about getting after I put the time and effort into researching. ..no need to answer anything. I know you are hard at work!:)

Christine Avatar

MAC launches can be really hard to handle 🙁 The collaborations tend to move quickly. I don’t know if it’s because there are so many people trying to get stuff (e.g. someone who doesn’t normally buy MAC but is a Simpsons fan might be trying to purchase from that collaboration) or they make less stock for collaborations.

Aquie Avatar

Nicole for MAC limited edition releases you have to watch the website beginning at 8AM EST normally because they just randomly release stuff…I learned that with the Simpsons collection and it was reinforced with the Rocky Horror Show release (which one of the lipsticks wasn’t released until about 430pm that day almost 3 hours later than the others). There is no real set time. I got the Boca Lipstick and Acai Lipstick and I was able to add them in my cart at 856am. I had been refreshing the site since before 8am…They are really random with the time of releases. If you can get it from a counter or other retailer that’s always a safer bet then the MAC website itself.

Nicole Avatar

Aquie, Thanks for the advice. I will remember that in the future if I decide to buy from them again, lol. I had banned Mac for years because I had a lot of bad experiences with their products when I was younger. Now, I am feeling like it may not be worth the time I am putting in to try to get a lipstick or two and a blush on top of all the time I put in researching it to make sure it’s not a miss product. I do try to pre-order if one of the counters is going to have it. But, i was told the Petite collection was only online and Brazil stores! Oh well, I am sure I can find close dupes for Boca, Acai, and the blush. I was on the fence about Acai because Christine had said it was a little drying and I don’t do dry well. So, maybe that one was for the better. 🙂

Aquie Avatar

It kept them in my cart but I immediately added the lipsticks and paid for them. I didn’t browse the site or anything. I was also already logged into my account and they have my cc information stored to make it easier.

Nicole Avatar

It sold out too fast for me..stupid early work meetings! lol. I usually work form home and it is not an issue…go figure! I was hoping to get the blush and all the lipsticks. Meeting ran until 10 am and was only able to get the red lipstick which apparently sold out like a second after I checked out. So, at least I lucked out there! No biggie, I have dupes for both lipsticks. The blush I think is the big unique piece for myself. I am sure there are close dupes out there. I may have one. I’ll have to check it out. Plenty of goodies out there waiting for my money. I was just surprised it was up and I didn’t get the email. Thanks for the insight on how these Mac LE collections work! I found out 2 of the 3 coming up are at counters near me. So, I will just pre-order if I decide i want any of it. 🙂

MakeupTray Avatar

Nicole, I am so mad I want to boycott Mac too. I actually called corporate and complained! The JP Acai, Boca and Linda were sold out before they even put it on their site as a new collection. I had it in my cart but at checkout it was removed and only petite was available.
Monday night I called my local PRO and asked about JP. They told me Thursday. Come to find out, they sold it Wed!!
The lengths one has to go through just to get MAC LE isn’t worth it. Social media and the Internet have ruined makeup purchasing

Nicole Avatar

Makeuptray, Hmm that is fishy! I was only able to get Petite Red as well. but it seems like some others others were able to get the other lipsticks and the blush. That seems completely not right that they could sell it wed at the store! My closest store that was carrying it was 2.5 hrs away. When I called to see if their was a slim chance they had it( and maybe would mail) I was told only the Mac stores in Brazil had it and online only,lol..it’s just kinda crazy. i am wondering if since this was a Brazil blogger,if Brazil may have got first dibs.Maybe it should have been just sold in Brazil in that case. Mac is getting to be full of a bit of too much drama for me. It’s just not possible in the real world to sit in front of the computer all day and watch a website to wait for a few lipsticks..nor should one have to. I mean, people work and have lives . I don’t recall mac being like this when i was young. The collections were not this frequent and I dont remember the mad frenzy to get stuff. but, there was not as much internet capability too. It has really got me on the fence. I have a young daughter and she is starting to get to the point to looking at my makeup and stuff, showing interest. I almost don’t want her to want Mac because of this practice. But, then again I do because of the price point and you can get some good stuff if you look. I am now just going to pre- order stuff that I can get from my local counter. But, I don’t think they put out anything special enough that it’s worth wasting a day over or stressing about. If it is online only, I’m not bothering.
can you tell me where to find the # for corporate or an email? I will gladly contact them too 🙂 ..I did call the online rep quite in a not pleasant manner..I got the email after I placed my order for the one lipstick after I spent hours researching what i wanted to buy and budgeting. It was really frustrating! But,I used the $ to buy other brand stuff that I feel is better quality and I would love to let Mac aware of that and that they are losing long time customers and many of those of daughters and family. 😀

Carrie Avatar

I had reservations about that lip palette (mainly that MAC would flop the pastels) but they look beautiful! Pale (pastel, duh), but beautiful!

Nikki Avatar

High Tea being repromoted is making me so nostalgic! High Tea was one of the first MAC collections I remember from when I was a teenager. I thought it was so magical with its promotional video and yellow and green eyeshadow. lol. I was also obsessed with Hipnotique and Femme Noir…

Anyhoo, cool collex. I’m actually excited for the lip palette, and pleasantly surprised the shades seem to have some pigment to them.

Katherine T. Avatar

That palette would give me major zombie lips. If you like to play with colors, somebody suggested mixing the pastels with other colors to get new colors, kind of like the OCC lip tars. The red lippie looks pretty but MAC has a lot of these colors. The cream base blushes look nice, still eyeing the Summer Wind cream base — it looks good, not too dark, warm orange, or glittery. I prefer cream as it lasts longer on me and doesn’t look as dry as powder

Diana Avatar

The only thing sort of whispering my name is the Puttin’ on the Spritz Casual Colour. It looks like it would give a nice dewy flush of color but we’ll see. Lately I’ve been loving satiny, dewy looking blushes specifically creams…

Rachel R. Avatar

The lip palette colors actually look better on the lips than I thought they would. Pretty.

I’m loving the convertible colors. They’re beautiful.

Kristina Avatar

The Vintage radio lipstick shade is excellent for anyone with really naturally pigmented lips, especially reddish. I have had a green lipstick forever in the same hue and I dab a little on after my balm or lip primer, let it sit or blot and it neutralizes the pigment in my lips. I can then wear any shade of lipstick or gloss even very sheer ones, very nude ones and the lipstick colour stays true and isn’t altered like when you cover lips with concealer or foundation first to neutralize.

Try it! 🙂 Just a little though….

Julie Simons Avatar

Thank you for all your hard and beautifully executed work. You are such an amazing resource! And as afar as this latest MAC release (at least for today, lord knows there will be yet another one soon!!) goes…nope. Too much trouble to shop for them and the product offerings just seem to be more gimmicky with each release…(Cinderella eye glosses, I am looking at you!). That lip pallet is just not special seeing as how many other lines (NYX and others) carry better quality crazy lip colors…I just don’t get it, but as long as it makes MAC money they will keep doing it!

Nancy T Avatar

The only things calling to me here are the self-named Mia Moretti lipstick, and the Summer Wind Cream Color Base, I’m thinking that it *could* be a really nice highlighter.

Julie Avatar

I gotta give it up to MAC for finally releasing lipsticks that aren’t red, purple or orange! I will buy the lip palette, probably never use it, but I must buy it!

Ciara Avatar

That Mia Moretti is smokin’ on you Christine!!! I think that’s the winner of the bunch!!! Looks like I’ll be making yet another M.A.C run or stalking their site like a madwoman.

Lilac Avatar

In the photos, the Mia Moretti lipstick and Cardinal from Philip Treacy look exactly the same 😀 Maybe more chances for people who like the colour to get it in one of these versions =)

El Avatar

Well, that takes care of that. The lippy palette is the one item I was maybe interested in, but seeing it swatched, I wouldn’t wear a single one of those colours. Far too pastel. Total skip for this collection!

Mariella Avatar

MAC is doing it again (it seemed they’d slowed down for a bit but, alas, no…) – these gluts of collections that are just overwhelming (and perhaps not all that great or necessary). I don’t like the off-beat colours in this but also, I don’t like when MAC inundates us all with so much stuff all at once. It has really turned me off the brand except for the few great permanent products from them that I’ve come to rely on. They really would be wise to make permanent some of their really great products from past LE collections and cut back on all these “collections”. Also, I’ve no clue who Mia Moretti is so a collection in her name doesn’t do anything for me (I do, of course, know of Phillip Treacy, but his name isn’t enough to get me to buy stuff either!)

Christine Avatar

When MAC gets quiet, it just means that they’re getting ready to release three more at you, LOL! That is what I have learned.

I would rather they stagger release dates more, though. I know on my end that they tend to release information in blocks, so I’ll get info for two or three launches at once, but I like when the actual launch dates for customers is at least staggered by a week.

Helene Avatar

I want Vintage Radio as an eyeshadow!
I really like both lipsticks a lot.I might give myself a break from the makeup buying ban to get some new lipsticks.
Not sure, though if any of these collections will make it here and if they do they may easily sell out before I even log on.
Will be fun to hear what you have to say about this collection.
