Yay! I’ve been hoping you’d review some of these! I’m surprised by how much I like the fluidlines – I was going to get one lipstick and otherwise skip the whole collection, but I really like the looks of those! I think I need Blue Peep in my life. 😉
Glad you liked some of the Fluidlines!
Looks like I need Pearl Blossom and Make Me Gorgeous!
Pearl Blossom makes me feel so old, lol!
I’m disappointed with how sheer most of the lipsticks are, I love the names though.
I think over half of them are Lustres, unfortunately for those who don’t like sheer lipsticks.
They actually look like they are good for layering. But yeah, sheer lipsticks are a bit of downer.
I wouldn’t mind Lustres if they were just sheer, but they’re usually drying for me 🙁
I don’t care for sheer lipsticks at all. It looks like someone’s lipstick is wearing off – to me anyway : )
Whyyyy mac does that to my money?
Aw!
I need Make Me Gorgeous, Reel Sexy, and Blue Peep. I might get Silly too if I do my have a dupe, and Alpha Girl.
Yay!
Hmmm. Aside from three colors of lipsticks and the fluidlines, this looks like a collection of mostly sheer colors. I am half-hearted about this collection.
Yes, a lot of the lipsticks are Lustres, which is a sheerer finish.
Divaish and Make Me Gorgeous are the only 2 lipsticks that I would want. Powders and shadows are too light. I don’t know what happened to MAC, imo, it seems they are all about releasing “gimicky” collections than turning out quality product.
I honestly don’t remember a year when MAC didn’t release 40-50 collections a year, but I’ve only been following them for ten years now.
I bought my first MAC products (lipsticks and some brushes) when I was pregnant with DD in 1996! I have been buying MAC ever since, and at the beginning, they did 2-3 big collections a year and about two or three other mini collections, such as the launch of a new product.
The quality was outstanding, and the collections used to be so special! None of the same regurgitated stuff they do these days.
Gosh I started wearing MACback even before that, maybe the early 90s as a good friend was a MUA there. The first really big campaign I recall was the first Viva Glam one, but then again that was the very early days of the Internet so maybe we just didn’t realise they were releasing at least a few more collections than we realised? But def not as much as now!
DUH I meant my friend was a MUA at the NY Flagship store which at the time was only one of a few places you could buy it. (Maybe Bloomingdales had it too back then?)
It looks like a nice collection, some of the lipsticks look really pretty!
Woohoo!
I so wish the copper fluidline swatch looked a little better.. and the Yoghurt eyeshadow for that matter.. Other than the silver and maybe copper fluidlines, I can’t see much that is a must have for me in this collection.
I was surprised at swatching the Fluidlines, because I used MAC 266s for them.
If it helps, the swatch seems to indicate that Copperthorn is basically the same as when it was released as an LE. I have the LE one and it’s not great as a liner, to be honest. If you try to build it to get it properly opaque, you’ll be caked in glitter. That said, I didn’t buy it to use as a liner! I usually pat it over top of a light shimmery eyeshadow for a glitter topper that wears like iron. Much love for it used like that, but I don’t even bother trying to use it for liner.
Is is just me of this version of Siahi doesn’t look as a opaque.
I really appreciate this because the lipsticks I was interested in are luster and I was sure how sheer they were going to be. It’s a pass.
Also, this version of Alpha Girl looks smoother than the 2011 one.

I applied all of the Fluidlines with 266s brushes for the swatches. I turned the brush for the wider swatch (easier to SEE the color than in a line), but I was surprised that I couldn’t get crisp lines.
Loving Make Me Gorgeous and Silly lipsticks!
Yay!
I was so excited about the lipsticks in this collection! They all look very sheer…darn it, MAC!
Yeah, I think six or seven of them are Lustres!
I was soooo stoked too! I am slightly disappointed but it wont stop my wallet from draining.
Call The Hairdresses, Make Me Gorgeous and Real Sexy are my favorites so far!
Nice!
I’ll pass on everything.
Thanks for sharing!
I think this is pretty interesting for a spring collection; there are some deep colors in those liners! Wants: Alpha Girl blush, Make Me Gorgeous lipstick, and Call the Hairdresser! lipstick. I don’t think there is anything really new/unique that M.A.C. doesn’t already have.
There are lots of shades to consider for sure!
Some of those lustres make me want to break my rule of never buying lustres! Beauty powders look up my alley, too.
LOL! I’m not looking forward to testing them. I have to put them off until tomorrow (swatching 30+ lip products in a day means no thank you on immediately testing formulas that probably will be drying).
Ooh, thanks for posting the pictures, Christine! Some of those seem great, some of them seem like misses would be just fine. So uneven. I have to register my surprise again that they are rolling this *and* P Treacy out in a week. And it’s just past 9 EST, and half the J Petit collection is sold out. I would be curious to know just what their runs on some of these things are. Do they realize the effect is to create a secondary ebay market?
Probably a few thousand depending on the shade! The reality is MAC has been doing this for five years or longer, so it must work for them to sell out in an hour vs. make more stock. I mean, I don’t get it, and it seems like they leave money on the table. My only guesses are 1) they underestimated demand every time, 2) they would rather sell out 85% of the time than have leftover stock 40% of the time.
I want all of those lipsticks. I am such a lipstick hoarder, yes but they look absolutely divine
Which ones are your very favorites?
Ahh, Copperthorn’s back?! I hope it performs better this time! Some of these look really nice–Diva-ish looks gorgeous. Really looking forward to your reviews, Christine!
Permanent, too, now according to MAC.
Reel Sexy and Make Me Gorgeous are really speaking to me.
Yay!
Siahi means “ink” in Urdu. I like how they used that for dark blue
🙂 I believe it originally released with the Mickey Contractor collection.
OMG that Ivy Pro Longwear Fluidline is calling out to me!
Yay!
The ultimate tease! I have been begging for more Fluidlines for years, and instead they re-release all the old ones!? C’MON! You’re killing me, MAC!
Sorry, I wish I could get you full reviews faster 🙁 I’ve been working on just readying the photos since 10AM yesterday!
Oh I didn’t mean you! I meant that MAC teased us by announcing more Fluidlines…only to give us the same ones some of us (me, because I have an eyeliner obsession) already have! Grateful to be able to re-stock, but I was hoping for new colors!
You are doing a great job getting these up so fast, I’m always impressed!
Gotcha! 🙂 Well, at least they’re EXPANDING the range, because it seemed like they were going to eliminate it as the shade range kept dwindling down, lol!
Make Me Gorgeous is… gorgeous!
Haha!
I was so looking forward to this collection, but there really isn’t anything that’s calling out to me. Maybe the Alpha Girl powder, but that’s it.
I can’t wait for your review on the fluidlines Christine, they have my interest piqued!
Thanks for sharing, Aditi!
Hmmm, thanks for the sneak peeks. This looks like a real hit or miss collection…..
No problem!
Blue Peep Fluidline intrigues me! Thanks for the quick swatches.
It’s an interesting bluish shade!
Ooohhhhh, I want at least 6 of the lipsticks!!!!! And Alpha Girl beauty powder!
Fun!
Is there a fluidline missing? I counted 11 but there are only swatches of 10.
I included Royal Wink in the product photo thinking it was in this launch, but it isn’t. It is part of the Philip Treacy collaboration.
That blue peep Fluidline on my Wishlist
Yay!
Wow, Blue Peep looks gorgeous! The lipsticks look so standard, though – I’ll be eagerly awaiting your reviews 🙂
Blue Peep is a pretty shade! So glad they brought it back.
Oh my stars thanks for ALL YOU DO…SAVE ME SO MUCH MONEY…This stuff looks like glamorized lip gloss and $5 shadows…
Glad I could help!
WOW I am super excited for this collection. I usually don;’t get that hyped about MAC limited edition, Alpha Girl, Call the Hairdresser and Make Me Gorgeous. And Silly and Diva-ish and Reel sexy and Real Doll (why is real spelled differently in each? lol gotta wonder with Mac’s names sometimes) Wow that’s a lot on my wish list!!!
Reel Sexy was previously released and it is named that way for the theme 🙂
Make Me Gorgeous looks gorgeous! I hope the review is good… Call the Hairdresser! also looks good, but seems a bit sheer…
Call the Hairdresser is a lustre, I believe, so that’s as designed.
Copperthorn fluidline is gorgeous! I didn’t expect it to be that packed with glitter! I also love the Alpha Girl blush – perfect for spring! 😀
Yep! I believe it came out before as a LE shade and was pretty glittery then.
I was right! I knew I’d want those Beauty Powders and Make Me Gorgeous and now I want them even more!
Yay!
Siahi will be mine (missed it during Mickey Contractor!)
Yay! MAC told me that all the Fluidlines from MAC is Beauty will be added to the permanent range!
Hm… The things that I like most from this actually seem rather dupe-able. Diva-ish is right up my alley, but I feel like I have a ton of those colours. I bought Siahi and Ivy the last time they came out and wasn’t thrilled with either (one didn’t work on me, one didn’t work at all). And I still have Alpha Girl from the last time it came out. Most likely for me, I think, are Call the Hairdresser and Pearl Blossom, so I’m really looking forward to the reviews on these. Beyond that, I think my wallet is safe, at least from Mac.
Could you remind me which one didn’t work at all for you? Like it was just bad? I’m positive I asked you years back 😉
The one that didn’t work for me was Ivy. It looked lovely and vibrant in the pan, but I could only get it to medium opacity and if I tried to layer it, it moved around and became uneven. Here’s hoping this version is better!
One can hope, but it feels a lot like the LE version to me 🙁
These swatches were so helpful! My original list was Notice Me, Real Doll and a couple fluidlines but it looks like I can skip the lipsticks. They’re way too sheer for my taste
Glad I could help, Fancie!
I want them all. Period. (Except the lustre lipsticks, I hate them 😛 )
Well, that takes out half of them, haha!
True… 😛
Man…I really like Make Me Gorgeous but I feel like its going to be another thing I buy and then realize it looks almost exactly like something I have… ie: Toying Around//Toxic Tale//Burmese Kiss//Ablaze lol
Maybe I should get a back up of SIlly ^^
lol!
Diva-ish and Make Me Gorgeous look very pretty! Not a fan of the Fluidlines.
Bummer!
…Am I the only one who thinks the fact that Notice Me is a sheer, light pink is hilarious? I mean, yes, pretty, but so discordant! 😀
I was amused 😉
YES!! I was thinking the same thing – it should be called PLEASE DON’T Notice Me! 😉 (Kind of like 5-Alarm should be called False Alarm . . .)
They should call this the “Comeback Colllection” lol i just wish they would of made better choices because the lustres are just so not for me and i think for a lot of ppl in general…it is one of the drier formulas Mac has. It’s a shame bc it seems like the whole collection is really about the lippies and it would of been nice to see some opaque spring colors! hopefully they made some improvements to Alpha girl and some of the non lustre lippies….Cant wait to see your reviews! 🙂
Haha! MAC really should do a REAL one of those (and not just MAC By Request).
Make Me Gorgeous and the fluidlines <3
Yay!
Oh man. I will be broke after all of this. Three collections on one day? I am slightly disappointed in the lipsticks but it wont stop me from picking up like 6. Plus everything else! haha
I can’t decide what’s better… one a week (literally) or three or four in one go?
I wonder what lipsticks would look the best for my skin tone. I love most of the colors but I don’t want to buy just cause it looks cute lol
lol!
Is it me or do the majority of the lips look very similar on the lips?
A lot of them are Lustres, so they are sheerer and will tend to do that.
omg is it bad that that i want every single one of those lipsticks!?!?!?
For your wallet, yes ;P
Ooooh!!! Reel Sexy and Diva-ish ( although I HATE that name, what are they trying to say? That it’s the baby sister of Diva? Lol), Pearl Blossom Beauty Powder, Siahi and especially Blitz and Glitz! I eagerly (but patiently) await your reviews on what appears to be a halfway decent collection!
Here’s hoping!
How I wish the fluidline formula was a little more consistent (and the color variety a little more creative).
I agree – they could be more consistent.
Hmm, some of the Fluidlines are certainly pretty. The lipsticks too.
There are some fun pops of color!
Oh, my, there are some beauties in this collection. The fluidlines are so gorgeous. I’m liking the non-sheer lipsticks a lot, too. And the beauty powders.
Pearl Blossom takes me BACK!
I love the Pearl Blossom beauty powder a LOT.
Yay!
Before my wallet breaks…are the lipsticks permanent? I know it days LE in the description but I’ve heard some say LE, permanent..
MAC only told me the Fluidlines were permanent! I will ask again.
I need Alpha Girl! So pretty.
Yay!
Hello Christine,
Thank you so much for showcasing these colors. I’m really loving Brassy Fluidline, I’m hoping it comes close to my YSL 9 Gold Star Cream liner which has been discontinued.
-Maria
No problem!
I really like the alpha girl beauty powder. Not sure what a beauty powder is supposed to be used for. It looks like it would make a beautiful blush. Would it be acceptable to use it as a blush?
If you are light or fairer than that, you could probably use it as a blush. It barely shows up on me as a blush.
Favorites: Make Me Gorgeous, Reel Sexy, Real Redhead. Looking forward to seeing how these perform!
I see a theme!
I do not need a single one of those lipsticks, but a couple are seducing me all the same.
Which ones, Lacey?
Call the Hairdresser and Make Me Gorgeous! MMG is a little on the bright side for me, but it’s so darn pretty!
Love – the colours of the fluid line eyeshadows especially the blues and greens
Not a fan of the lipsticks – too pale and nudish for me.
Lots of beiges/peaches in the lipsticks!
What on earth is the difference between a beauty powder and a blush? Is it just a “whatever-you-want-to-use-it-for” powder?
It depends on your skin tone – the majority of beauty powders wouldn’t work as a blush on half of the skin tone spectrum.
There’s a lot of things I like in this collection!
Yay!
Hmmmm….with all this sheerness I’m left wondering what the point of all this is. I think I can pass on everything except maybe that sparkly copper eye stuff. Sparkles get me every time!
At least there’s one thing that interests you!
Some of the fluidlines were definitely released previously. Macroviolet was the very first “real” makeup I bought my daughter about 3 years ago (I recall it distinctly because she was about 12.5 but being bullied terribly, so we had a mum/ daughter night out on the town & to make her feel more “grown up I allowed her to pick her own eyeliner.) And I have Brassy from a few years ago as well. But I’m loving Ivy big time! Not impressed with the lipsticks, more of a matte kind of gal.
Almost all of the Fluidlines were released previously, but MAC has changed the formula to “Pro Longwear Fluidline.” I’m not sure if they tweaked it at all, but it is technically different now 🙂
Thanks, I thought some of the others looked familiar too, but they aren’t my colours so I would never have purchased. I guess we’ll just have to wait to find out what sort of “tweaking” they did to them!
I’m not totally disappointed in this collection in general but I feel a little underwhelmed. Not because of the colors but because a LOT of the lipsticks are lustres so they probably wont wear well. Make Me Gorgeous looks stunning though, so you can bet that I’m gonna go out of my way to get it!
I hear ya, Alana! They released a LOT of Lustres. I don’t know why it isn’t more of a mix – some Cremesheens would have given some of that shine with more coverage.
The blue peep I own is dried up. So happy to be able to repurchase!
YAY!
Hmm half and half on this collection! But the loving-it half is really loving it! Definitely need Make Me Gorgeous & Reel Sexy, not got anything like those in my collection. And also drawn in by Copperthorn – I don’t have any Fluidlines – but interested to see how you find it wears.
Fingers crossed I don’t miss this in the UK!! 🙂 xx
Better for your wallet not to love it all, haha!
Alpha Girl powder and Make Me Gorgeous lipstick are maybes. I love the look of Diva-ish but I have Estée Lauder’s Reckless for that ;-).
From the promo pics, I’d thought Ivy might be more like Sassy, the lovely LE green from last spring I think, but not even close. It’s a very ordinary green and the heavy pearl suggests it will be a pain to use.
Blue Peep is lovely; a bit lighter and more true blue than the NARS eye paint I have (forget the name). Might get that. Silverstroke, Brassy, and Macroviolet are the definite buys. But since the new Fluidlines are permanent, I won’t bother with immediate purchases!
Yes, it does seem like a lot of more pearly Fluidlines have issues with pigmentation/evenness!
Looks like a very pretty collection, can be because so much is on the sheer side. That said I do like quite a fess of the lipsticks and also the fluidlines.
I’m looking forward to the reviews, as always.
I do hope the silve fluidline will perform excellentlyas I fell for it. I can see it doing a lot of fun for my eyes 🙂
Hopefully a few will work out for ya! 🙂
