MAC x Cinderella Mystery Princess Beauty Powder Review, Photos, Swatches
MAC Mystery Princess Beauty Powder
MAC Mystery Princess Beauty Powder ($25.00 for TBA oz.) is described as a “pink beige with silver shimmer.” It’s a sparkling, cool-toned beige with a white base and a metallic, frosted sheen. MAC also described this as “matte” in the press release, but it is definitely not that, so my guess is that was misprint/mistake. Burberry Nude Radiance No. 01 (P, $48.00) is warmer, liquid. Bobbi Brown Pink Glow (LE, $45.00) is slightly darker. Cle de Peau Delicate Pink (14) (P, $55.00) is less shimmery. Cle de Peau Pastel (11) (P, $55.00) is less shimmery, lighter. NARS Devotee (LE, $29.00) is similar. Urban Decay Luminous (P, $29.00) is warmer. MAC Too Chic (LE, $24.00) is less sparkly. MAC Snowglobe (LE, $24.00) is less sparkly. MAC Light Sunshine (LE, $24.00) is less sparkly. Chanel Poudre Signee de Chanel Illuminating Powder (LE, $68.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
It’s not quite as sparklly as Coupe d’Chic, but the texture of the powder felt similar–dense, textured from the shimmer/sparkle content, but still fairly smooth. This one didn’t emphasize pores for me, though it’s metallic enough that if you’re more concerned about pore-size, you might want to try it in person if you can. It blended easily, and I had less issue with the sparkles getting all-over during application, but they do travel throughout wear. This is one of the more shimmery Beauty Powders I can recall, and it really felt and applied like the Iridescent Pressed Powder, but this shade was slightly less sparkly/glittery. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me before fading.

So, The beauty powders are highlighters basically? Hmm.. this is nice. But, i am not seeing anything special except the baby blue compact.Maybe will have to wait until it hits stores to check it out. Not a must-have for me even though I love a good highlighter!
Beauty powders can vary – some are more blush-like, others finishing powders, and others highlighters. It often depends on your skin tone – most beauty powders are very light and are invisible on medium or deeper skin tones!
Hmm..thanks for the education. I had never even heard that term before Mac! lol.
This is the only item that really interests me from the collection, but sometimes MAC is overpriced in terms of per ounce and quality.
Could you provide any dupes for a cool toned highlighters that are permanent and perhaps better quality? I saw Cle de Peau but that is very hard (and expensive!) to get in Canada.
Thanks 🙂
Hi Krista,
I listed all of the dupes I could think of already! I’m sorry!
Ok, at least this one is decent! It’s a pretty shimmer
Yay!
Christine, in the photo, have you applied the powder all over your face or just to your cheeks or cheekbones? It’s hard to tell but might affect whether or not I want to purchase this.
Just on cheek bones!
These just seem as exciting as other highlighters 🙁
I hear ya!
I think this looks great on you. But I definitely would not get away with wearing this. Plus I’m not a fan of the packaging, it looks so cheap, almost like it’s for a five-year old.
Aw, thank you! 🙂 There’s something about the type of plastic MAC uses that doesn’t always look good in a semi-matte, pastel-y color to me.
B+ isn’t bad, it’s a bit too shimmery for me though, I also own the dupe Nude Radiance by Burberry. Some will like this though! I like the packaging too 🙂 I can’t wait to see what other princesses they use!
It seems like they’re doing collaborations based on the live-action films!
I cannot wait until this Cinderella line is launched! What could be better than MAC and Disney combined? Thank you for the in-depth post. I have seen plenty of pictures floating around, but this is the best swatching / review I have seen for each product. Thank you!
Thanks, Colleen!
I think what I really want is for MAC Too Chic to come back. lol
lol!
It’s pretty, but I’m not over the moon about it.
There are better highlighters on the market, I think, so it’s hard to get too jazzed over this one.
Hi, I know it is a stupid question but is this basically a higligh powder or a face setting powder… thank you
Hi Maritza,
This particular shade is more like a highlighter. I wouldn’t use it to set.
I’m definitely buying this.
Enjoy, Alice 🙂
Between the two highlighters from this collection – which one would look better on medium dark (NC 30/35) skin? This or the Coupe d’Chic?
Thanks for your opinion in advance! 🙂
Coupe d’Chic
Thanks so much for awesome, detailed reviews!! If you had to pick one between this and coupe de chic which one would it be?
My pleasure, Shah! If you like a lot of sparkle, Coupe d’Chic.
This will most definitely be mine! Im all about this! I am just hoping its not sold out like the RHPS collection when I go to buy.
Good luck snagging it!
This is definitely far from matte lol. I like how it looks on you though!
It must be a mistake, lol!
It gives your skin that glow from within look. Gorgeous!
Thank you!
Hi Christine! I’m from Brazil and I love your blog! could u tell me what’s the difference between the beauty powder and the iridescent powder of this collection? Specially the usage of them… Tks 🙂
Honestly, they’re not really different this time around. They feel similar and perform similarly on, but the Iridescent Pressed Powder has larger and more sparkle. It is also more colored, so if you’re fairer, you’ll see actual color show up on the skin.
Hi. I am looking for a dupe to the Marilyn Monroe powder called Forever Marilyn. I looked it up on here as a previous post would these or anything you know of be similar? I am very fair nw13 and it is beautiful to highlight the under eye area.
Thanks!
These aren’t similar at all! You’re better off looking for a highlight powder that’s mostly matte.
Hi, I’m trying to decide between Mystery Princess and Coup D’chic. I’m not sure which would work best for WOC NW 30. I was leaning towards Mystery Princess because it reviewed as less glittery than Coup D’chic but will Mystery Princess show up on my skin tone? Thanks for all of your reviews
Coupe d’Chic is the only one I would recommend for medium or darker skin tones, though I don’t think either are great. I am NC25/NC30 for reference.
This has the same description as MAC Silver Dusk almost looks similar… Is it the same just in pressed form?
I don’t think so.
So, if I already owned the glitter & Ice Snow Globe Beauty powder, do I need mystery princess??
You don’t need it (the product itself isn’t that great!), but Mystery Princes is a lot more sparkly/glittery so the finishes are different!
So I just bought this, and I find extremely dry.. I need to use way too much to make it show up (as a highlighter should!) and it fades quickly. Is anyone experiencing the same, or have any suggestions?
Thanks! 🙂
What brush are you using, Johanne? Have you tried another brush you have on hand?
Can I use this as a highlighter?
Sure!
