MAC Natural Beauty Powder ($30.00 for 0.35 oz.) is described as a “soft peachy pink.” It’s a very pale, pink-tinged white-beige with a satin-matte finish and subtle, cool undertones. Hourglass Ethereal Glow (P, $35.00) is darker. MAC Pink Buttercream (LE, $30.00) is darker, more shimmery. MAC In for a Treat (LE, $30.00) is warmer, more shimmery. MAC Light Sunshine (LE, $24.00) is more shimmery. MAC Forever Marilyn (LE, $24.00) is similar, just a bit pinker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

One question that gets asked often whenever a Beauty Powder releases is, “How do I use it?” They can be used as highlighters, blushes, bronzers, contour powders, or finishing powders, much like Mineralize Skinfinishes, and so it depends on the shade of the Beauty Powder and your own skin tone. Generally, they’re a subtle product, often used as highlighters, finishing powders, or barely-there blushes. Natural is very light, and it has almost no shimmer to it, so it lightens the area it is applied to generally, but if you have very fair skin, it could be used as an all-over finishing powder as well. On my skin tone, for instance, it adds a bit of light to the tops of my cheek bones, but it did look somewhat ashy, depending on the angle/amount of light in the room, but dusting it all over looks as if I’m trying to lighten my entire face a few shades, so it doesn’t work in that fashion for me. The texture is soft, finely-milled, and powdery enough that it may look chalky if you aren’t very fair. This is definitely an instance where I think MAC could have released two shades, one for lighter complexions and one for deeper complexions.

Thanks for adding how to use this, because that was one of the first questions I had 🙂 I like how it looks on you, it makes your skin look very luminous. But I personally would not buy this for myself.

Bought 6 marilyn powder when it re promote at macys last year.
Ridiculous with these prices. I have yellow skin tone….really too light for me but I like the mariln compact…better than this one.

I hope some pale girls post swatches of this, because I have a feeling this ghost will be wearing this powder as a blush…

I can’t believe I’m saying this, especially as a Red Lippie fiend & MAC junkie, but I’m thinking this collection is going to be a total pass for me. More for Alluring Aquatics!

It looks like I have finally found a dupe for my beloved, and discontinued, Benefit Georgia! I will most definitely be stocking up on this!

wow I love that powder it looks amazing on you! I have a deeper skin tone so I’m always worried if peach soft colored products would work well for me but looking at these pictures makes me want to give it a try, absolutely love it!

I like the look of this as a possible subtle highlighter for me — I’m NW25, and at 55+ years of age most highlighters are too shimmery for me to feel comfortable wearing them for everyday looks (I still love me some serious shimmer on my eyelids, but keep it toned down elsewhere on my face for daytime looks). I think I’ll check this out.

Im so glad another came out! Ive always wanted to try a beauty powder, and the fact that its part of the maleficent collection makes it even more magical to me! This will be such a multi-use product for because im so fair (even in the summer) that i can use the as all around face powder if I please.

Thank you for your honest opinion. This powder is clearly meant for fair skin tones. I wont waste my money purchasing it.

The LE Marylin beauty powder is my holy grail under eye setting powder. I am very pale and pink toned, and it worked wonders for me. I recently hit pan in January. I know you said it is like the Marylin, but pinker. Do you think this would be a good dupe? I can’t find any other dupes for that powder and this may work! Some people don’t like them much, but oh my alabaster girls like myself need to give them a try!

Do you think this would work as an all over face powder like the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders for someone NW/NC 15? Or maybe as an alternative to the shaping powder in Accentuate to use under the eyes to set concealer and brighten that area?
