10 Shades of Pretty in Pink Blushes, Lip Colors, and Eyeshadows for Valentine's Day
With Valentine’s Day just a couple of weeks away, it seemed only appropriate to make a list of pretty in pink shades. Whether you like pink on your lips, tips, cheeks, or eyes, I hope that you’ll find at least one shade to drool over. 🙂
- Clinique Plum Pop (04) — a cool-toned, plummy pink with a satin finish
- L’Oreal Always pearly Pink (756) — a light-medium, frosted pink with warm, yellow undertones
- Givenchy Rose Taffetas (201) — a light-medium, warm-toned pink with a luminous shine
- Illamasqua Harem — a cool-toned, pastel pink with hints of lavender
- Urban Decay Anarchy — a vibrant, cool-toned, fuchsia pink
- NARS Desire — a cool-toned, vibrant magenta pink with a mostly matte finish
- Revlon Adorned — an intense, bright fuchsia-red with shimmer

How do the Lip Tarnishes wear?
Keeping in mind that they are quite balmy, they wear very well on me (~3-4hrs while retaining the gloss-like shine). They have a waxier consistency than most lip products, which may not be for everyone, but it makes them last quite well for what they are. They also leave a beautiful stain on my lips after they wear away. This is one of my favorite formulas, I am just not a fan of the pencil form that it comes in because I feel like I loose so much product sharpening it up. Also, just a side note, they have a noticeable scent (mint/menthol) but I find it rather appealing.

I just tried out Chanel Rouge Coco Paradis. The color was pretty on my very pale cool-toned skin (YSL BR20 is my perfect foundation match), but the formula doesn’t go well with my very dry lips. I’m leaning towards Guerlain’s Attrape Coeur and Givenchy’s Rose Dressing/Taffetas (not sure which). Any recommendations?
Both of those formulas are more hydrating, but Rose Dressing/Taffetas will probably be more forgiving on dry lips.

I have one UD lipstick (venom) and now I wish I’d gotten more! I’ll have to make a little list…
The newer UD lipsticks are fantastic! I was really pleased with how they turned out.
I would love to pick up Illamasqua Harem. I will have to check my NP stash and see if I have anything similiar. I don’t believe I do, and I haven’t picked up an Illamasqua polish yet.

Most of these are far too intense for my tastes, and I stick to pinks in the “dusky rose” range. Of all 10, the only one I’d choose is Always Pearly Pink, which pairs beautifully with Smoldering Plum.
My favorite go-to pink blush lately is L’Oréal True Match Tender Rose C3-4, which is impossible to overdo, and looks absolutely natural. Maybelline Born With It is a grab-and-go shade for me when I have to look polished, but not too made up.

Awww, I always feel left out come spring. 🙁 I’ve never found the right pink for me. My lips are a sort of mauve color. I’m medium olive goldish in complexion. I like both cool and warm colors for myself. Can anyone suggest anything? I have looked on and off for years. I don’t want something super bright, and my natural lip color definitely makes it a bit tougher. Thanks for any suggestions. I really appreciate it.

I’m going to look at what I have and then let you know what “more/less” I want. I have seen some Rouge Gs that I like, but they are not sold now. I really have been scouring your blog. You’re a sweetie. 🙂 To console myself, I have Burberry Rosewood and Pale Barley in my cart right now. Pale Barley is one of the elusive ones, right? I thought I would click on it while I was choosing my second Burberry shadow, and woohoOO! Ships on 2/24! I was going to get Trench, but I can always get that later. MAC Sumptuous Olive is going home to me too. 😀 Now I am just trying to figure out a pink lippie to try. Chanel Merveille Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss is calling me……… Oh no! It was a P, but alas, I’m just too late. Not sold, at least not on Nordies. Drat! Givenchy Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick in Mystic Pink appeals. So does BB Heather Pink and Burberry Antique Pink. For now, I am just going to get a gloss to throw in the cart.
