Makeup Geek Moondust Eyeshadow
Makeup Geek Moondust Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “metallic silver taupe.” It’s a medium-dark, warm-toned taupe with a frosted, metallic finish. It had nice color payoff, and the texture was soft, smooth, and buttery. The texture was easy to work with, so I could easily see this being a go-to neutral. This shade wore well for nine hours before showing signs of fading. MAC Silver Dawn (LE, $19.50) is less metallic. Urban Decay Vaporize (LE, $18.00) is cooler-toned. MAC Pastelluxe #5 (P) is similar. Edward Bess Dusk (P, $30.00) is warmer. See comparison swatches.
Nautica Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “midnight blue shade with shimmery finish.” It’s a medium-dark navy blue with a pearly sheen. The texture was on the drier, stiffer side, so the pigmentation was good but not as intense as the shade looked in the pan. I saw some fading after eight hours of wear. Chanel Apparition (LE, $36.00) is a cream product. Disney by Sephora Midnight (LE) is darker. Tom Ford Beauty Cobalt Rush #2 (P) is similar. Urban Decay Occupy (LE, $18.00) is more muted. MAC Thru the Night (DC, $21.00) is darker. bareMinerals Climax (P) is brighter. Make Up For Ever #81 (P, $20.00) is darker. See comparison swatches.
Ocean Breeze Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “metallic deep green/blue.” It’s a dark, navy blue with a frosted, sparkly finish. It’s a warmer take on blue compared to Nautica. It had fairly good color payoff, and the texture was easy to work with on the eye and blended well, but it was a bit drier. The color wore well for eight and a half hours before starting to decline. Urban Decay Prank (LE, $18.00) is more matte. Dior Cosmos (281) (P, $30.00) is a cream product. Tom Ford Beauty Emerald Lust #4 (LE) is darker. Illamasqua Android (P, $25.50) is much darker. See comparison swatches.

I like Moondust. *puts on list*
Yay!
I have the UD Anarchy facecase and Vaporize is one of my new favorite colors. It is incredibly versatile and it blends well with a variety of colors (golds, browns, silvers, deeper greens, etc). I can see why Moondust got a recommend from you! I like to use UD Mushroom eyeliner with it, it’s a great complement.
Mushroom would definitely pair well with a shade like Vaporize!
Moondust reminds me a lot of MAC’s Patina. Ocean Breeze is stunning!
I’d say Patina is a bit more muted, probably a little warmer, too!
wow!! loved all the looks you’ve done
Thank you, Parmita!
I like Ocean Breeze. I think it’s a very wearable blue. Too bad it’s a tad dry.
P.S.: Your third and last eye look are amazing!
It is a more wearable blue for sure!
Yay! I skipped Silver Dawn from Magnetic Nude because I just couldn’t bring myself to pay $20 for a single eyeshadow, but I saw that Smoke and Diamonds was similar and that Moondust was MUG’s dupe, so I decided to purchase Moondust instead of Silver Dawn. Glad it is on your dupe list!
Woohoo!!
Love Moondust!
Me too!
Hehe, the shadows here are nice, but it was the big list of epic eye looks that impressed me most in this post! You’re a wizard with shadows, Christine! 😀
LOL! Thank you, Sylirael! I was trying to review them as I worked through, but then I got behind and it was easier to go in alphabetical order… so all the looks just get posted with them!
I completely agree with this! Gorgeous eye looks! Moondust is on my list–it was the one color that drew me to the UD Anarchy case.
Christine, I can’t help but think in the eye look with Liquid Gold in the lash line–it reminds me a little of Urban Decay Honey 24/7 eye liner–even though one is powder and one is cream. Can you comment on how similar the two shades are?
Liquid Gold is almost green-ish at time, and Honey is definitely yellower.
Moondust! I loved the shade! 🙂 Loved the eyelooks christine!
Thanks, Vineetha!
Moondust and Ocean Breeze have been added to my want list!
Beautiful pictures showing all those different colors on your eyes!
Moondust is really pretty, and it reminds me alot of NARS Ashes To Ashes, although not a complete dupe.
hey which is the purple/navy blue eyeliner in the 4th eye look?
Clinique Cobalt
I really like the one with Cinderella and Burlesque!
The new shadows you mentioned are also very nice. I’ve been looking for a blue similar to a look I saw at the globes. These look like they might work!
Moondust is gorgeous!
