Julian is a favourite for me as well. I also like Bobbi Brown pale mauve in the Luxe formula.. a pinky mauve neutral methinks.
Pale Mauve is lovely!
I need Blushing Pout and Rose in my life ASAP. This was a great spread!
Thanks, Chris!
I have Lovesick from Kat Von D and I love it. I also have Blushing Pout and I like that as well although I like Lust For Blush a little bit more. Pastille is definitely on my want list.
I’m so glad Pastille is permanent!
It’s surprisingly difficult for me to find light-to-medium cool pink lipsticks that are truly flattering on me. Many are just too light, and many of the rest are too muted. I have Anna, and it’s a useful shade for when I’m wearing a bold eye, but it’s not bright enough to do anything great for my face. I think I’m going to try Powerful, it looks light it’s bright enough to light up my face a bit. When I was younger, bright lipsticks could seem to be “too much”, to kind of overpower my face, but now that I’m almost 60, they’re just the right thing to light it up.
So, medium cool pinks that I have and like tend to be a bit brighter (and probably a bit darker as well), like Tom Ford Pablo, NARS Never Say Never, MUFE Rouge Artist Natural #27, Urban Decay Ladyflower.
Let me know how Powerful works for you, Fran!
It’s really funny, Christine, I had to do some household shopping at Target yesterday, so I stopped by the Estee Lauder counter at Macy’s and tried it on. It turns out that it’s one of those pinks that looks blue-pink in the tube but looks (very) warm on my face. Even the SA was perplexed, looking back and forth between the product in the tube and on my face. It actually didn’t look bad, but it wasn’t what I was expecting or looking for. The SA suggested that I wear it home and think about it before purchasing (imagine that!) and it looked better in my bathroom mirror than it did in the store, so I’m still considering it, but I’ll have to look for another light-medium cool pink. It seems strange that that should be such a challenging thing for me to find.
I was wondering which Estée Lauder you would pick?
🙂
I really like Maybelline Blushing Bud 705. I have trouble wearing lighter pinks if they are too cool. Blushing Bud is just ever so slightly warm but reads somewhat cool on me. It’s a great choice for Spring and Summer.
Sounds like you’ve found a really good pink in Blushing Bud!
Looove these shades! Such a modern vibe for a classic color. My favorites are Milani “Power Pink,” Maybelline “Hot Plum,” and NYX Butter Lipstick in “Razzle.”
Razzle – what a fun name!
Cool-toned pinks usually look horrible on me, but I’m liking the looks of Pastille, and maybe Anna.
They’re closer to neutral, so that might be why they appeal to you!
Revlon’s Lovesick balm stain!
Awesome, Ray!
Thank you for this list! It really shows the variance of hues that all do fall into this cool pink range. Including a few that even someone like myself, who has warm, olive and/or tan skintones can actually wear. I especially love Anna (yep, STILL on my list!) and now Pastille, too! Plus, strangely, Pink Noveau, of which I have a perfect dupe of in Nyx Matte Audrey.
Oops! I forgot to add some of my faves too! UD Turn-On, and also UD Rush (Rush is on my wishlist).?
My pleasure, Nancy! 😀
I love the way cool or neutral pinks in lips or blushes bring out hazel eyes! I have hazel eyes too! I wear this tone a lot. I try to go a little lighter like with MJB Jolly Molly. But, I haven’t worn that much. it feels a bit bright. But, I like UD matte backtalk and KVD Magick, and Nars Anna is a classic. I am so needing that Pastille! I feel like it is haunting me..seriously..is that a sign or what?!
I love Backtalk! Such an easy shade to wear!
Powerful and Anna look sooo pretty! I usually go for warmer shades, but for those two I’d definitely make an exception.
I’m loving the look of Pastille!
Such pretty pinks. The only one I have is the Nyx Rose. It’s nice because it’s a white-based pastel that isn’t too white. I go more for neutral pinks than cool, or else I go fuchsia/hot pink.
I love UD Sheer Rapture. Other cool/neutral favorites: Estee Lauder Pinkberry; ABH Liquid Lipstick in Unicorn; LORAC Girl Next Door; Too Faced Melted Peony; Nyx Pops and Thalia; Jordana Modern Matte Lipstick in Matte Classy, Matte Blush, and Matte Bare; e.l.f. Matte Lip Color in Tea Rose; Wet n Wild Megalast in Dollhouse Pink and Mauve Outta Here; Wet n Wild Fergie in V.I.Pink; Milani Matte Blissful; bhCosmetics Pop Art in Boom.
Yessss @ NYX’s Rose on this list! I’ve been wearing it quite often lately, good to know I’m on trend 😉
It’s funny how different lipsticks look on different people. I tried Anna by Nars and it deadset looked like a dark mauve purple on me. So dark!!!
It’s such a lovely pink on you though!
My absolute favourite pink for spring/summer is Urban Decay sheer revolution in Obsessed. The perfect soft, brightened pink without being too bright or sickly. I am, true to the name, obsessed with it 😉
Favorite is Anna by NARS.
I adore NARSs Anna. It’s becoming my signature lip.
I love Anna! One of my fave lipsticks! <3 I also love Pink Nouveu, but it's so funny how much darker these colors look on my fair/light skin! I think I need to check out Pastille! Soo pretty!!
My fav pink to wear during spring and summer is Mac’s Please Me and when I want a little more pow I love Pink Nouveau. I’m 36 and I always say pink nouveau is like an “adult hot pink”.
I am not sure about the undertone on this one, but MAC Craving for my (cool) pink. It’s not an everyday color for me unless I break out my face chart and wear the eye and cheek look that goes with it, but I love wearing it. I also like NYX Thalia, it’s a mauvey grey pink.
I like TF Jack. So mad it is discontinued. Wish there were a good dupe.
Pink Nouveau is a fave for me. I can wear it alone but I sometimes pair it with Nightmoth lip liner!
