‘Tis the season for red lips–or at least, that’s often how it feels–so how about a top five of creamy, glossy reds? (For this one, I specifically wanted to highlight shimmer-free shades.) What are your must-haved reds?

  2. Laura Mercier Poppy — a bold,, medium red with orange undertones
  3. Milani Red My Lips — a bright, neutral red

MAC’s done some great red lip glosses this year. Viva Glam Riri 1 is the best sparking red gloss I have, since it’s sheer enough to not look over the top, but with plenty of beautiful red sparkle. The dark metallic red Courting Chic looks like liquid fire on top of red lipstick and has a really unique finish. I’m usually not a red gloss girl, but these two are really beautiful.

After searching for many years, finally found my Holy Grail red -MAC Hearts Aflame – it’s the perfect red for me, not too bright, not too dark, really flatters my complexion and gives drama without being over-the-top. Unfortunately, it’s limited edition, and I tried to buy backups but they were sold out! BUT I was able to mix around some OCC lip tars and get pretty close to the shade:)

Ah, red gloss. The best kind of glossy shade. They bleed worse than an horror movie extra around edges of my mouth, so I stick to my lipsticks, but I can admire the look on others. 🙂

I’d love to try a Dior fluid stick at some point, and I like the Laura Mercier gloss I have (sample of Blush), so I might investigate her stuff further at some point too! Signature scarlet is the only one I could really get my hands on, but I’ll try and finish up my tube of Nyx Butter Gloss in Cherry Pie first, I think! 😀
