What a lovely sentiment and post! Beautiful tribute to how makeup can impact and represent powerful emotions, passions, and moods. Plus you chose some of my absolute favorite greens! Here are a few more I love that bring me back to your fantastic topic:
-Sugarpill Clickbait (lovely jade with golden shimmer threaded throughout. Very balancing and peaceful, much like jade stone represents. In spite of its name hehe)
-Giorgio Armani Emeraude Eye Tint (luxuriously deep emerald that pairs fantastically with Christine’s Green Iron pick from the line. Emerald represents love and prosperity, two great hopes for any renewal)
-NARS Barrow Street (close to Stila’s gorgeous Mint Julep, but darker and reads cooler on me. A perfect true mint for fresh new starts)
…I could go on forever!
🙂 So many good ones! Clickbait is gorgeous.
Silver Sun and Bronze Khaki look really nice! I am currently loving Isla (from the Anastasia Self Made palette), Arctic (from Urban Decay’s Vice 4 palette), and Lemmy, Misfit and Vinyl (from Kat Von D’s Mi Vida Loca Remix palette). Old favorites are Urban Decay’s Maui Wowie, M.A.C.’s Eyepopping, and Lancome’s Splurge. I keep my two favorite greens from Fyrinnae in a special place in my make up stash, We’re All Mad Here and Danse Macabre. I won’t wear them because they are almost gone and they are too pretty to be gone, lol.
Arctic is gorgeous! Wish they’d make that permanent.
Ohh that Inglot shade looks amazing! I don’t have a lot of warm greens but I really like ColourPop Hammered!
That’s a good one!
I totally spaced on Hammered. That’s a great one!
*My absolute fave for spring is City Color Cosmetics in Hint of Mint. It’s a gorgeous light mint green with a stunning gold metallic undersheen, gorgeous when it hits the light. I also like the 2 shades of Tom Ford Raw Jade mixed together, but IMO Hint of Mint blows the TF combo out of the water in terms of sheen, and it’s only $7, less with sale.
*I already have 4 from this list (Passiphae, Green Iron, Silver Sun, and Bronze Khaki), and I’m eyeing MJ Peridot for next Sephora sale and MUG Jester.
There’s that City Color rec again 😉
I love Make Up For Ever D-316 Crystalline Pinky Green, I-318 Linen Khaki, I-330 Linden Green, ME-338 Acidic Green, D-334 Apple Green, D-306 Bottle Green, and I-324 Bronze Khaki; Urban Decay Freak (both the powder shadow in the Electric Palette and the 24/7 eyeliner); NARS Pasiphae; Kjaer Weis Green Depth eyeshadow; and Bobbi Brown Balsam Mettalic eye shadow. Even though I love the dark olive greens, it’s the light greens that make me think of spring and renewal. I’ve got to try Peridot — too bad Sephora is out of stock at the moment!
I hear you, Fran! I think brighter/lighter greens are definitely more representative of spring, but I wanted to make sure to get some deeper ones in so there’d be something for all skin tones/preferences 🙂
The whole warmer/cooler thing confuses me a lot, especially with shades like green (I would have thought Silver Sun was “cool” because of the silvery sheen) so I’ll just list my fave greens that I thing might be warm (some might not even be “green”) – Silver Dawn, for sure and also MUFE Reptile, MAC Sumptuous Olive, Inglot 419, Bare Minerals Flicker, Elitist and Spectacular and from Nars, the green side of Nouveau Monde. I also really like Sephora pencil liners in Matte Moss (it’s not matte at all, really) and Olive. I’d have included Snakeskin Dress too (the pencil version) but they discontinued it. I also really like MAC Rosemary and Thyme but I believe that was also “axed” a few years ago.
I usually look at the undertones – Silver Sun is one of those complex shades that could even read warmer/cooler depending on undertones or what you pair it with 🙂
It’s nice to see such a variety of greens in such a variety of products. Gorgeous picks.
My favorite warm greens are: Eyeshadow — UD Thrash; ColourPop Sour; ColourPop Fizz; MAC Savant (LE, Bellgreen’s Palette), Lucky Green and Sumptuous Olive; Milani Bella Khaki. Eyeliner — L’oreal Infallible Silkissime in Green Ivy, Max Factor Green Glow Liquid Effect Pencil Eyeliner, Jordana Cat Eye Liner in Envy, Tarte EmphasEYES Waterproof Clay Shadow/Liner in Green (DC). Lips — Nyx Wicked Lippie in Trickery, Tater Rounds with Drac Makens Mansinthe. Mascara — Nyx Colored Mascara in Perfect Pear.
I see someone likes their chartreuses 😉
I love a pop of chartreuse! Especially on the lower lash line with purple eye looks. And I wear a lot of purple eyeshadow. 🙂
I’ve looked EVERYWHERE for L’Oreal Silkissime in Green Ivy. While the other shades are available in Canada, that particular one isn’t and it’s a bit annoying!
That’s so weird. I never understand why makeup companies don’t make the same colors available everywhere.
I really like the eyeshadow from Aromaleigh called Dryope. It’s hard to describe: on bare skin it’s a brownish red-plum base with an olive overlay. Not a duochrome, but rather quite matte, and you’re seeing both colors at the same time, one through the other. Over primer the plum goes eggplant and the green gets more forest-y. Very unique, and I really like it, even though I rarely wear green.
That sounds amazing, Alecto!
Silver Sun by Mac is beautiful. I think I will bring it home this week!
Yayy!
Ah, I want basically all of these these! Seriously, most of these products lusted after when I saw you review them before. Great list!
Illamasqua Milf Nail Polish would be my pick – such a nice pastel green shade, with an amazing no-fuss formula you don’t normally get with that sort of colour.
Haha! I can’t recall if I have Milf… but now I need to check, lol!
1) MUFE Reptile eyeshadow (I-628)! Now that’s an e/s MUFE should include in a future palette lol.
2) Laura Mercier’s caviar stick in Jungle.
3) Mac’s Tarnsh eye kohl pencil.
4) Sephora’s eye pencil in Go For A Ride.
Reptile is a good one! 😀
Hi Christine, the brands aren’t showing. Not sure if that’s because of the feed reader I use on my iPad but I thought I’d let you know.
Hey Mardi,
They’re intentionally not showing, because I stole the format from our Introduction To ___ posts and haven’t given my developer any time to update it for this application yet.
Silver Sun, it’s so lovely!
I think I’ll buy Peridot for myself on my b-day this year, I really like it, such a bright, shiny spring-green.
I think that would be a great move, Helene!
Definitely do it! Peridot is one of the queens of my liner collection. Such a beautiful shade! And works so well on all skin tones and eye colors. Truly special on everyone.
I do have (and love!) Golden Emerald and Pasiphae! Other warm(er) greens I love are UD Stash e/s and also MAC Savant! And that mint with gold shimmer in the Anastasia Self-Made palette, Isla, is pretty nice, but I still want Silver Sun instead.
Adding Ripley (Alien!) and Kismet to my wishlist for nail polish!
Stash is a nice one! I like the eyeliner as well.
I have so many greens – one of my favourites is the YSL Ombre Solo Slate green single (it is one of the very few singles I own). A golden oldie but a goodie. A beautiful shade of forest green.
Another favourite is Gilded Envy from the L’Oreal Infallible colour range – I also have Golden Emerald too. A great colour.
I have many palettes dedicated to greens: Guerlain’s Les Vert, EL Emerald Oasis and Chronos, and my all time favourite is Lancôme’s Jade Fever – anyone can still get this – it is the best of the range.
I might have to check out that YSL single if it’s that good!
You reviewed it a few years ago, so I guess it might be lurking in your bountiful stash somewhere. It’s a great colour.
AHhhh! Probably then 🙂
OOOOH I LOVE this list!! Gorgeous shades, and I bet they all look so good with your eye color and skin tone!
This reminds me I need Pasiphae and Silver sun. Plus that Inglot green has been on my list for a while! Peridot and Mint Julep are such great lower lash colors, I want them! 🙂
All good shades 🙂 Silver Sun is a cool one.
I love both ColourPop Hammered and MAC Sumptuous Olive when I want to do a warm green look. Since Hammered is slightly darker, it makes a really cool dimensional and intense look if you lay it down as a base on the crease and outer half of the lid, then put SO over the whole lid, including over Hammered, and blend up into the crease. Urban Decay Mildew eyeliner is also a stunning color, and you could use it on the inner part of the eye or under the lower lash line with the other two products for a bit of brighter color. Actually, I think that’s how I’ll do my eyes tomorrow!
Oh, nice! That sounds really beautiful, Kat. Thank you for sharing 🙂
Oh these are all lovely! My favorite warm green is from an indie company, Howl Cosmetics, in the shade Canopy Light. It’s a gorgeous forest green with tons of gold and green shimmer. Whenever I wear it I just think it looks magical as dumb as that may sound. It’s one of the few green shadows that make my blue eyes pop, likely thanks to the golden sparks.
That sounds like a gorgeous shade, Laura!
Thank you soooo much for these green makeup suggestions!! I love green and warm-toned greens suit me best but they’re sometimes hard to hunt down, some of my favourite products have discontinued colours I like so its fun finding new ones. Now I really miss Sephora’s Snakeskin Dress eyeliner, it was my absolute favourite, I’d use it with a neutral/pink shadow look and it would make my greyish blue eyes really pop. :/
My pleasure, Steffa! I hope Sephora brings it back!
Love illamasquas elope nail varnish, though unfortunately its been discontinued 🙁 also love mac’s chromagraphic pencil in landscape green.
Silver sun is the only one I could even try!
Aw!
