MAC Supreme Sheen Lipstick
MAC Asian Flower Supreme Sheen Lipstick

MAC Seasonally Supreme Lipstick (Part 2)

As promised, here is a review for the remaining four shades from MAC Seasonally Supreme, which hits counters on August 11th and all shades join the permanent range. Each retails for $14.50 and contains 0.12 oz. of product. This post only looks at four of the twelve shades, and you can see the rest of the shades in this original review. The four include: Asian Flower (creamy lavender), Blossom Culture (soft pink with pearlized pigments), Sheer Mandarin (mid-tone yellow orange), and Supreme Style (light coral pink with pearlized pigments).

The formula is lightweight overall, but some of the creamier shades are thicker when worn (think Happy Hibiscus). I get an average of three hours of wear on lighter shades and up to six hours with really rich, bold shades (think Korean Candy). The color coverage is semi-opaque to opaque. These are vanilla-scented, but I did not detect any taste.  I find the lighter shades have a tendency to settle into lip lines and the effect becomes more noticeable as they wear and fade.

MAC Seasonally Supreme Lipstick (Part 2) Swatches, Review, Photos

B-
There are some inconsistencies in the formula, like unevenness and chalkiness appearing the lightest shades, while medium to dark shades highlight the formula in the best way. The lighter shades require more precision and time to apply to ensure even color coverage.

  1. I like the blossom culture!

  2. I like mandarin more than I thought I would!

  3. Diana

OMG I love Asian Flower! Def reminds me of Mac Petals and Peacocks, but like you said a little less vibrant. Still gorgeous! Which one is your fav out of the bunch?

  4. Sheer mandarin is really pretty….would you recommend it for tan skin tones?

  5. Nancy

Some of the colors are very nice but these dry my lips terribly. Wish I could wear them, even with lip balm underneath they wrinkle my lips for some reason.

  6. msharma

i really like the supreme style.

  7. I really like Supreme Style. The others are a little too bizarre for me.

  8. Charlotte

    Supreme Style will be mine!!

  9. Jenny

You are so right about the inconsistency! My favorite is Korean Candy from the first set of swatches. Christine, do you know if MAC is ever going to release Glamglass?

  10. Ester

So glad these aren’t LE. I really like Asian Flower and will pick it up some time, but it’s really nice to know that there’s no rush. Can you Back To Mac for these?

  11. I’m definitely drawn to the Blossom Culture shade, which, by the way, looks awesome on you. I might have to pick this one up.

  12. Emma

How is the color Sheer Mandarin compared to Lime Crime Cosmopop?

  13. Oooh.. I like the Asian Flower and Sheer Mandarin.

I’m a bit annoyed with myself that I missed Playtime, but Asian Flower looks like a great subsitute.

I’m so glad they’re not LE — I have plenty of time to pick them up!

  14. Rachel

Oooh Asian Flower is the pink orchid I’ve been searching for! Really lovely shades.

Also Miss Temptalia, I’m really looking forward to the pinks & mauves from the Covergirl Lip Perfection line– will we be seeing swatches of those anytime soon? Thank you!

  15. Courtney

Hrm…not sure how to feel about these. I might try some of the warmer toned pinks for the summer.

  16. Oooh… Supreme Style looks like it wants to come home with me.
Who am I to argue with a lipstick?

  17. Supreme Style, Blossom Culture, and Asian Flower are so pretty! I really love this set a lot more than the first set you swatched.

  18. Stephanie

    I NEEEEEEED Supreme Style. Gorg.

  19. MORENA

im definitely feelin Asian Flower. reminds me of Playtime (from quite cute) which i am now out of. LOOOVE

  20. Carrie Ann

Blossom Culture is gorgeous! I’m glad these aren’t limited edition. You always have the best, most accurate swatches, Christine. They’re extremely helpful, especially when you have to order the products online. I love your reviews!

  21. sarah

ohh surpreme style looks pretty on you!!

  22. Asian Flower is gorgeous! Reminds me so much of Revlon’s Colorburst lipstick in Lilac – I’m all for purple :D

  23. Sarah

Hmmm. I thought I was gonna love Asian Flower more than I do… I think I might be able to skip it and save some $$$. Thanks!! :)

  24. Hannah

Wow, the texture of these do not look very nice on the lips. Patchy and gloopy and it looks like it accentuates any imperfection. If they don’t look nice on your lips (which tend to make most lipsticks look lush), then I really don’t have any hope for them!
With all the sheer, glossy lipsticks that have come onto the market in the past season AND that perform well, for me there is no reason to buy these.

  25. Kat Muniz

Hey Christine, did you start shooting the pics differently? I like seeing a little more of you and some background too, like your other lip swatch pics :) Just giving you my thoughts :)

  26. La.pLebiitah..

Allura swatches made me hate Asian Flower..
But now you made me get excited again.. =D
    It’s soo pretty!

  27. You look so tan in these pictures? Did you use self tanner or is it natural? Beautiful!

  28. nmnikki

this lipstick formula looks really goopy to me, is it possible to apply these lipsticks so they’re not so heavy?

  29. Joli

Christine I’m a little confused :/ you state these are joining the permanent line but when I was at the Mac store today, they informed me these were limited edition. I also contact Mac and they said limited edition as well. Any idea? Thanks for you help!!

  30. Marcela

Supreme style reminds me Strange potion…

  31. aleena

How blossom culture looks on you is how i wished it looked on me:9 i ordered it and it looks a lot brighter on me and its very unflattering:(

  32. Carla25

Hi, im looking to but either Blossom Culture or Supreme Style, but i really can’t make my mind up. i do love how Blossom Culture looks on you christine, but worried about what aleena has said, maybe it will look to bright on me aswell :(  Supreme Style looks peachy, and not as bright as blossom culture. Not sure if i like the gold gliter tho,
    Need advice please lol….

  33. Maccie

I love the idea that you’re literally swatching these lipsticks on yourself, however…could any other model do that instead? It is super boring to see same lady putting on lipsticks all the time + different ladies might have different natural lip colors – would benefit the readers to see actual lipsticks swatches on different skin tones.

    •  @Maccie Hi Maccie,
I’m not sure if you’re unaware, but there is only one person who writes all the reviews, takes the photos, does the swatches, etc. Temptalia is not a company with tons of employees – there is only one person available to do those things!
