Zoeva Basic Moment Blush Palette Review, Photos, Swatches

Basic Moment

Zoeva Basic Moment Cheek Palette ($16.80 for 0.39 oz.) includes three cheek products–a contour powder, blush, and highlighter–in a slim, cardboard palette. The powders are supposed to be “incredibly pigmented.” The highlighter was the “miss” in the palette, as it was drier in texture and had sheerer coverage, while the blush and contour powders were pigmented and blendable.

Yet to Come

Yet to Come is a bright pop of peach with a hint of pink paired with a matte finish. It had a stronger, white base to it, which gave it a starker appearance against my skin tone when initially applied, but it diffused and blended out and looked more natural, which was helped by the fact that the matte finish made the color deepen slightly as the powder blended with the natural oils on my skin. The texture was smooth, finely-milled, and powdery in the pan but did not appear dry in practice. It wore well for seven hours on me.

Liquid Clock

Liquid Clock is a soft, light-medium gold with warm undertones and a soft, frosted finish. It had medium pigmentation, which was buildable to semi-opaque coverage if desired. The texture was looser in the pan, soft but on the drier side overall. The highlighter blended out well on the skin and had a moderate sheen that did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture. This shade lasted for seven hours before fading noticeably.

Unfinished

Unfinished is a muted, medium brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The contour powder was richly pigmented, while the consistency was smooth, finely-milled, and blendable without being too powdery in the pan. The color wore nicely for eight hours on me.

Not particularly fond of this palette, but this is a brand I wish Ulta would pick up. I have been dying to try their eyeshadow palettes.

Maybe they will – they seem like they’re adding new brands left and right! I know Sephora in another country got Zoeva recently… so maybe Sephora will expand it to US.

Yeah, it’s funny. Aussies get Zoeva through Sephora. And places in Asia. Z seems more in line with Ulta to me though. I doubt that U could carry Z, due to a preexisting relationship with Sephora. Z is not like Tarte, with rots for Sephora and double duty beauty for Ulta. Boy, did I feel like a ๐Ÿ™„ when Muse pointed that one out. As I said in the eye palette review, highlighters are def not Zoeva’s strong suit. This is also very fair oriented. The contour could be a blush for…a few? Not a contour for many.

Sorry, it looks like just the photos were switched, which I’ve fixed. the descriptions were unique – could you screen shot if it was otherwise? The reviews were different, so I’m not seeing the descriptions being the same!

The only shade in this that I find even remotely appealing is the contour shade, Unfinished. This palette seems geared towards only the lightest of skintones, as in NC15 or NW13 and under. Which isn’t a bad thing, but hopefully Zoeva has trios for those of us with medium and dark skintones, too.

This is an OK palette if the shades suit you.
Zoeva is currently at the Sephora shops in Australia. None of their products overly impress me much.

Christine, did you order these directly through Zoeva website? if yes, how has your experience with them? I’ve been dying to try their products but I also heard of ridiculous import taxes if you purchase through their website shipped to the US :-/

Hi Theresa,

As marked at the top of the post, this was a press sample!

I have previously ordered from Zoeva’s website – they have a more costly shipping fee but did not have to pay anything above what I paid when I made the order. I order from Selfridges often, and again, I don’t pay anything except what I’ve paid at checkout.

I recommend reading your country’s official information: https://www.cbp.gov/trade/basic-import-export/internet-purchases
