YSL Corail Affranchi (07) Baby Doll Kiss & Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
YSL Corail Affranchi (07) Baby Doll Kiss & Blush
YSL Corail Affranchi (07) Baby Doll Kiss & Blush ($40.00 for 0.33 fl. oz.) is a soft, muted medium orange with warm undertones and a gold micro-shimmer that translates into a satiny finish. YSL Orange Fougueux (04) (P, $40.00) is darker. NARS Exumas (P, $39.00) is less shimmery. Sleek MakeUP Pink Mint (P, $6.99) is more shimmery, powder. Make Up For Ever #420 HD Blush (P, $26.00) is darker, redder. MAC Bad Girl Gone Good (LE, $21.00) is powder. Marc Jacobs Beauty Irresistible (210) (P, $30.00) is lighter, powder. theBalm Swiss Dot (P, $22.00) is less shimmery, darker. Chanel Frivole (P, $43.00) is slightly redder. See comparison swatches / view dupes. (Here are some lip color comparisons.)
The Baby Doll Kiss & Blush formula is a liquid product that can be used on cheeks or on lips. What I’ve been liking about it primarily is really that it can be worn on lips without leaving them feeling like they’ve been through a war, and that they apply well and wear nicely on cheeks, too. A product that is designed for both of these things and that can actually do both well is difficult to find! The texture is thin, velvety, and gel-like all at the same time, and it feels creamy and slightly emollient initially, but it quickly (20-30 seconds) turns to a powder-like texture and finish on the cheeks that’s easy to blend. However, on lips, it retains a glossiness that lingers for two to three hours, before it wears down to more of a slight sheen. This shade had rich, intense pigmentation whether used on cheeks or lips, and a little goes a long way as a blusher. As a lip color, it wore well for five hours and was neither drying nor hydrating, and as a cheek color, it wore well for eight and a half hours. It has a sweet, mango and grape scent but no discernible taste.

This looks adorable on you. Do you think you get a lot of product for the price ?
Yes, I do. It’s more than a gloss/lipstick, more than a lot of cream blushes, and I feel like a little goes a long way – not so much where it’s like the tiniest drop is like whoa! but you don’t have to pile it on either.
Oh for once these get a positive review! I really like how it looks on your lips! very pretty 🙂
It’s like finding a unicorn!
I haven’t picked up one of these yet, but it wouldn’t be this particular colour. Still, it looks great on you and I can see this product being a really friendly summer travel item…so convenient.
That’s very true – this formula would work well for travel!
This is the perfect summer look.
I have got to invest in that Guerlain foundation. Would you consider the consistency of this foundation light enough for summer? I’m still loving my GA Maestro but i think the colour is a little off but love how light (in texture) it is.
Parure is definitely lightweight! You may even like Lingerie better 🙂
Love the color, I was skeptical about a product for both lips and cheeks but I might have to try this one out. Everything looks good on you Christine!
Aw, thanks Lily!
That’s a very pretty summery shade! But I agree with your description, this orange, not coral!
At least I’m not the only one who thinks that! ;D
So beautiful! I need to try one of these very soon! The formula sounds so perfect
I hope you get a chance to try, Fancie!
Yay! Glad to see you liked a lip/cheek product for BOTH uses! It’s a pretty color too.
Me too, haha!
That is pretty! I’d like the pigmentation amped up just a liiiittle bit more, but I wouldn’t say no to this colour.
It’s a great shade for summer!
That’s surprisingly pretty! Didn’t think I’d like it, but it looks great on you Christine! I’ll have to check it out for myself in person.
Aw, thanks Kimberly! 😀
Beautiful! This would be my shade pick from the range!
Yay!
Such a beautiful colour! Love it!
It’s a nice hue!
Oh this looks so lovely on you, Christine! It’s so soft. I love that it’s not too overpowering.
Thank you!
Love it! Going to pick it up next time Sephora has a coupon. Thanks for the informative and helpful review.
No problem, Ana! 🙂
Your reviews are always so helpful! I was trying to decide between this and Orange Fougueux. I think I’ll go with the latter now as Corail, as beautiful as it is on you, might wash me out somewhat if I use this on my lips.
Happy to help, Vi! Hope you love Orange Fougueux! 🙂
Wow, that looks so good on you. I love the color and how it’s like super versatile! It would sick with blue liner 🙂
Thank you, Erin!
Yeahh ! i’m screaming right now!! XO my favorite color of then all!!!! *__*
Woohoo! 😀
This one is a little too ‘creamsicle’ for my vampire colouring, but it looks gorgeous on you! I can’t wait to try some of these when they finally come here! (Well, I say ‘some’ I mean ‘one that I heavily research and save up for’, LOL!)
Hope they show up soon so you can play 🙂
The finish is so beautifull.. the shade looks lovely on u.. 🙂
Thanks, Poo!
Wow!! I think this just bumped Orange Fougueux off my wishlist! I was concerned it would be too bright/dark for daily wear… problem solved 😀
Haha! 😉 Glad it’ll work better!
this is gorgeously beautiful on you Christine 🙂
Aw, thanks Rashmi!
Such a lovely color!! At first glance i didnt think this would be a color for me, but im in awe!
Ooh, glad it surprised ya!
Hey Christine, love your looks, always.
I’m considering buying this YSL Kiss & Blush both in #4 & #7 but after watching your review & swatches for the two, I see very little difference between two shades, both of them look orange & the #7 is just lighter. Is it right? if so, i should buy the #4 only.
Sorry my English is bad.
If you have a darker complexion, #4 for sure. If you are lighter, then you’ll get more mileage out of both, I think – like the difference will be more noticeable. If say you were only going to buy two from the range, then I’d just pick one!
Thanks so much! I’ve ordered #1 fuschia & #4 orange. Can’t wait
