What would you like to see in summer makeup collections?

I’d love to see more inspiration from what’s in the ocean… the sea life, coral reefs, etc. I’d also love to see a launch of ALL coral lipsticks in every depth and tone.

I would love to see the tarte “Icy Betch” palette happen…somewhere….please! (Maybe not the name) And I would love to see more lip formulas that are similar to the NARS Velvet lip glides- pigmented, comfortable, but not sticky. Preferably from a CF brand because they are some of my fav lip products for summer, but I only bought a few before they stopped being CF.

Plenty of color yet more sheerness. I’m sick of people looking like they’re wearing inch-thick masks of makeup. Let’s see real freckles, real eyebrows, actual skin color! And more cool tones inspired by the mountains, since I’m a mountain girl and not an ocean one. 🙂

I’d love to see some good cream and liquid bronzers for fair skin, base products with broad spectrum spf and an inclusive shade range, and hydrating lip stains in neutral shades! I’m kind of over the massive, over-priced palette launches every 2 weeks.

Same as you! I love blues/greens/teals for eyes, and corally everything for the face and lips! I’m one of those coral fanatics that must have all the pretty coral blush and lipsticks. Also, some nice glowy bronzers and highlighters.

Sometimes I feel like a broken record but I would love to see a cool palette with an emphasis on cooler toned greens and neutral browns. I know this sounds like the Natasha Denona green/brown palette but since that one was out of my budget I am not including that palette. I think that notoriously summer is associated with warm tones but it is also a time for beautiful shades of greens and lovely florals.

When it comes to actual colors, of course this Jersey shore girl still goes for all that’s aquatic for summertime! The seafoam greens, teals, sunny yellows and golds, corals, glowy duochromes knock my proverbial socks off!

As for product formulation, Please make them sweatproof, waterproof, allergy tears proof and able to stand up to the super harsh summer climate I have to deal with. Especially since I don’t drive, so I’m hoofing it, riding public transit and such. Yeah, I need it to hold up.

For eyes (Who am I kidding? Lips, too!), I would love to see purples, greens, and blues. Color in general, besides the constant stream of reds, oranges, and warm nudes. I love those kinds of shades, but the market is oversaturated with them at this point.

Cheeks and lips — You know I’m totally with you on all the corals! Especially brighter ones, and more-red based for lips.

I think Dior listened to you Christine as their Cool Wave Summer 2018 ES are inspired by the ocean 🙂
I would like to see more cool colours and some nice green-topaz, chrysolite shades, as well as some well-done light yellows.

I think less of the beach bronze and gold with a pop of teal or metallic blue, pool party type thing that has been done elebenty squillion times before and since I personally don’t wear blue eyeshadow at all, I don’t particularly care for ocean themed collections either, but obviously that’s my personal preference…

I’d love to see something tropical garden or jungle themed – really bright, vivid eyeshadow shades mixed in with deep emerald and olives and rich metallic chartreuse. Sheer, juicy lipsticks in bright and deep shades – crimson, magenta, violet, vermillion…

Or a desert palette with de-saturated cool roses, purples and mauves, soft pastel yellow, golden sand and cactus green satin, maybe a pop of fuchsia or indigo and a deep, dusky taupe matte. Muted neutral creamy lipsticks in bright blue metallic cases that look wet.

Many years ago Stila (under Jeannine Lobell) did a “Sun, Sea, Sky” summer collection, and it was just that–shades from nature. I still have a couple of the shadows. I can’t bear to let them go. And the products were summer-appropriate–sheer and light to wear. I really miss Old Stila. (Sorry for the long reminiscence, but when I read your post, that collection came to mind immediately.)

I would love to see products with built-in SPF and waterproof / long-wearing formulas.

I’d also see more travel sizes and minis bc I am more likely to go on vacation. So I need smaller versions of everything.

In terms of color, I am loving all the pastel and iridescenf festival colors this year. My favorite palette for eyeshadow is the Violet Voss Rainbow palette!

For cheeks and lips, I actually prefer pinks and plums in the summer bc that’s more natural for my complexion. I don’t become peachy when i get a tan or flushed— I turn pink and ruddy.

In terms of finish, I’m over matte faces and matte lipsticks for spring and summer. Time for cream, gloss, tinted balms.

I just think that if a company releases a limited edition product for summer, it has to be something spectacular to get me to buy it. Maybe a collaboration like ABH and Amrezy highlighter or Becca and Sanasas highlighter.

For example, I’m not even a fan of Kim Kardashian, but I signed up to get notified with KKW Beauty bc they’re doing a collaboration with Mario Dedivanovic. 🙂

I’ve thought about this quite a lot, while I’ve been partially satisfied with many spring/summer collections I always feel there’s too much I don’t use.

Eye: What would really lure me, personally, would be a 12-16 pan bouquet of pinks; from the palest cherry blossom to fuchsia and a good assortment of cool and warm pinky-corals as well as a pink-lilac shade.
I don’t want two rows of dark eyeshadow colours–I only need two, just for crease and depth. Of those a matte nude brown and maybe a rich mahogany. Matte and high-shimmer.

Face: a six-pan face palette with pretty pink-blushing blush and one with more pop, maybe with a peachy shift; a taupe and slightly warmer honey contour; and two highlighters, maybe a rose quartz and something more sunshine golden (not yellow) al la ABH Amrezy (drool).

Lips: Same hues. Nude rose, nude mauve and then peachy-coral nudes at the base and a few with more intensity along the same colour scheme–I don’t do super bright lips myself, but a lot of people do.
A mix of matte liquid and semi-matte liquid are my preference, with two amazing high-shimmer/shine lip toppers to finish the look.

I would like to see more cool toned eye palettes across the board, as Celesta suggested. Some tonal greys, icy blue, sage and pewter shades would be lovely. No more oranges, reds or pinks please.
A lovely plum and emerald green would be welcome too.
Lots of summery lipsticks in pretty nude shades coming out, but I would like to see some more lovely gingery peach shades too.
And perhaps some aquatic shades in mascara – blues and greens in particular.

Give me bright dark, medium and light mermaid colors in every range of the rainbow and yes, please add the sparkles, sequences whatever is needed. Lol! Blues, emeralds, teals, bronze, golds, silvers, yellows (I don’t wear yellow but i would miss it if I had one). Lots of beautiful peaches and corals. Beautiful blushes in the peaches, corals, pinks! And God of the merciful beauties make some decent light natural looking bronzers for my bottle of milk colored legs!
