We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! I have a mini version of MAC Stone that came in a holiday set. This shade makes me look like an extra on The Walking Dead. A year or two ago I got a tube of Clinique Bubblegum Pop as a freebie with purchase, which was promptly thrown into a drawer because it’s way too Barbie-ish for my face. But I recently tried mixing these two and discovered that together they make a pretty mauve-ish shade, which is right up my alley!

Last year, I decided I *needed* blue lipstick and bought MAC Matte Royal, but I wound up feeling that it was too dark for me. A couple weeks later, in a moment of weakness, I allowed myself to be talked into buying MAC Dreampot—a light blue that looks absolutely hideous on me—for the sole purpose of mixing it with Matte Royal. Mixed together, they make a very pretty medium blue that looked ok on me, but was too high maintenance on the one night I wore it out. In the end, I traded them as part of a Back-to-MAC. (P.S. I finally found the right blue for my face: ColourPop Getty.)

Any time I put Lit glitter, like Champagne Wishes, over a lipstick it looks gorgeous. Other than that, I usually don’t like to layer lip products. I want the product I’m buying to look how I want it to look by itself.

I have been layering cheek products though and OMG. Armani Fluid in 11 with basically anything else in my collection makes me feel like a perfume ad. I’ve been using it a lot with NARS Wanted II or MAC Show Gold. It’s overly beautiful.

There are three I have been wearing the past couple weeks:

1. Guerlain Rouge G in Gladys with Rouge G Geraldine in the center. If you have these two colors you should definitely try putting them together—this is such a pretty combination!

2. MAC Fushion Pink with Bare Minerals Moxie Gloss in Birthday Babe or Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss 172 (Tendresse).

3. NARS Precision Lipliner in Sainte Maxime, any violet lipstick (I use Arden’s Violetini or Bite Beauty 007/Snapdragon), and any magenta lipgloss (I used YSL Gloss Volupte in 49).

Sephora Lip Cream Stains in Rock and Purple (matte) with Sephora Metallic Lip Cream in Cosmic Purple.

MAC Viva Glam 1 with Sephora Red Lip Pencil. The Sephora lip pencil in red pulls a little pinky on me so adding the Viva Glam ! brings it back to a more cool toned red.

A perennial favorite, MAC NightMoth pencil with Rouge Bunny Rouge Perfume of His Gaze.

LipSense “Party Pink” under Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor “Temptation” is super pretty, bright, gets more compliments than I can count, and stays on all day long. Seriously, all day long….through food, drink, kisses, sun, rain and sailing. It looked spectacular when my skin was winter white and now it is even better with my summer tan.

I wore Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Bare under Bobbi Brown Nourishing Lip Color in Blush, and it was a match made in heaven! The pencil acts as a lip liner and holds the lipstick in place, while the lipstick as moisture and shine to the pencil. It’s a truly gorgeous combination with two very similar colors. I love Bobbi Brown. By the way, I wanted to add to my post on what makeup I wore when I first started wearing makeup. I just tried using the Bare Minerals Original FoundatIon, and it gave me an allergic reaction. I had written that I was able to use it with my allergies, but I no longer can, unfortunately. Thank God for my Bobbi Brown Skin Stick Foundation—it looks gorgeous with a beauty blender and the NARS Light Reflecting Setting Powder. I love it and am so utterly grateful for it, and for all the products I have!!
