Bobbi Brown Rose Gold–it seems like an odd choice, but I really enjoyed nearly every product launched in it.

Hands down, Lancome. Everything wa just so fresh and pretty this year! And it was a bit unique compared to the others. Quality was quite amazing too. (Except for the lipsticks if you have pigmented lips and aren’t willing to cover it with foundation or something)

I totally agree… Bobbi Brown’s Rose Gold was definitely my favourite. Of course, I didn’t buy absolutely everything from the collection, (just the shimmer bricks and a lip gloss) but if I had enough money I would have!!! Because a few of the shades are permanent I’m sure I’ll be going back for them if and when I can. 🙂

I thought that Mac’s Shop/ Cook collection was one of the better ones they’ve done recently, but overall, I’d give the edge to Nars. They had a great combination of shades that were original and wearable and I still find myself reaching for them at least a couple of times a week.

I was spolit for choice this spring as every collection had something that really screamed my name but the one i’m loving the most and getting the most use out of is the givenchy collection.

Thank god so far the only summer collections that have things i like the look of so far are the estee lauder and dior ones so i can start saving some money.

I loved Rose Gold also. However my other favorite collections were Shop MAC, Cook MAC and the spring color collection from Lancome.

Shockingly, for me it’s probably Lancome. I got La Roseraie and vert tendresse, and I’m happier with both than I feared I might otherwise be ( Lancome 5 color design palattes never have quite as much pigment as I wish for) and the illuminating powder doesn’t read chalky on me, and once the glitteroverspray is gone, it’s not crazy shimmery- so no pore enlargement! ( my pores = size of Texas, which is why tho I think shimmer bricks are adorbz in pan, they don’t make it to my face). I also think that whole line just sang spring. it’s a message that just made sense.

However I also got Nars’ Gaiety blush and Lhasa eyeshadow. I like the blush and am happy with the light bright pink note. My only close ones were Illamasqua blushes that *BOTH* broke in the pan, so annoying, and they refused to work when I tried to reset them. And though it might be dupeable, I am in love with the Lhasa eyeshadow. It’s just the right shade of grey-taupe with shimmer but not frostiness. Not too dark either. Just perfect, but not enough to make the collection my favorite – Nars’ spring collection as a grouping was just a bizzare conglomeration of products/colors.

I love Vert Tendresse too!!!! I also bought the Soft Marshmallow/Cotton Candy lipstick. I basically wanted the whole collection but since I am a high school student I couldn’t get them all >.>…. I really wanted to buy La Roseraie too but I was broke hearted when I realized the pink was just an overlay….

Actually the pink isn’t an overlay. The pink part of the flower really is pink. The only part that’s an overlay is a shimmer that’s put on top of the upper ridged white part. Once the shimmer is off of that it’s just a nice really light highlight color. I blend the two colors and they work really nicely together. I put more of the white on the upper cheek/ under eye area for a highlight tho. I realllllly wanted the guerlain cruel gardenia powder, but it was sold out before I could get my mitts on it, la roseraie was my consolation gift to myself, which worked out pretty well after all!

Hmmm. Good question. I thought MAC’s Shop MAC/Cook MAC was a really loud, fun collection and I loved MAC Vera as well. But NARS was gorgeous this year and in the drugstore the maybelline color tatoos are great (I think that launched this spring…).

I havew to go with NARS, for several reasons:

-Most importantly, I feel NARS respects the consumer by choosing to put out not only small collections (large ones can be overwhelming/expensive), and also integrates existing products or introduces new products to the permanent range; there’s not such a rush to go out & get things because they are LE, you can still get items months later on the NARS site & not have to pay 3X through ebay. Also, there’s enough time between collections.

-The colors are more universal in terms of complexion & season; the products are also more “stand-alone”, and they integrate well into existing makeup stashes. In gact, it seems every product works with any other in the range, and they blend well with other brands

-You can pull off “edgier” looks, which is my preference

-No “special” packaging; again, can easily be integrated with other products (the exception being the upcoming Warhol collection, but that’s just incredible), so things look sleeker and more uniform in my makeup drawer again, Warhol collection aside-there will be a separate drawer for those)

-There seems to be something in every collection for everyone

Aside from the quality, the “respect” factor has made NARS my all-time favorite brand in general. I feel I have time to catch up if I don’t have the money right then & there, as I have time to go back and add things at a later date. It may seem simple, but it means alot to me as a consumer. Also, I have never had a “dud” product, unlike with MAC, who just keeps churning out the collections.

None stand out for me. I do like some of the new products Tarte released like their 3 ‘shine/matte’ versions of their lipsurgance. The ones that stain in particular are so needed in the market. They stay color true!

Bobbi Brown Rose Gold. I still can’t justify the price to buy anything from it tho (sigh) but I love looking at the color coordination. It’s nothing that screams spring like all the light pastel colors in other brands, but it’s natural and sweet looking which can be worn anytime of the year, but looks so beautiful. I love the Wild Rose shimmer brick and Nude Rose rich lip color. And the ad is simple and pretty. Love it.

I have to agree with you Christine I really enjoyed Bobbi Brown’s rose gold collection as well. It definitely was a nice transition from winter to spring warm and bright..
