Tom Ford Beauty - Spring 2012 Collection

Tom Ford Beauty – Spring 2012 Collection

For Spring 2012, TOM FORD introduces a collection of smoldering, molten-toned color inspired by the beauty of a radiant, bronzed face. “I have always loved the look of tanned, glowing skin, whether it is achieved with bronzing powder or with a natural tan,” says Ford. Designed to achieve the look of sensuous, warm radiance, this limited edition collection has the ability to create a spectrum of high definition effects: eyes are given depth with alluring, glistening metals, lips are glossed with a gold-bullion sheen, nails are lacquered with captivating, metallic shades. A woman can enhance her natural glow, accent an existing tan, or create a complete, color-charged look of liquid-metallic seduction.

well thank goodness, none of these interest me! Happy days for my wallet! 🙂

I find the shade choices a tad strange for spring, it seems it would fit much better as a holiday collection with the metallics and the red, and overall “dark” feel. This time of year I want bright fresh colours, not this.. !

Thanks for the post! x

I agree with you; the colors are naturally suited to a holiday collection. Or, considering the advertising copy mentions “tanned glowing skin” and “sensuous warm radiance”, you’d think this was a summer collection. Who has a deep tan (or fakes one) in early spring?

I can only assume the brand is trying to offer an alternative to all the other bright, candy-colored or pastel spring offerings. It just doesn’t make much sense, otherwise.

I, for one, don’t care for the usual spring or summer collections offered by most brands; I actually do most of my makeup & clothing shopping in fall and winter, as I don’t care for bright colors or pastels. I really like these colors year round, but nothing really seems unique enough to warrant these prices. I’m not familiar with the brand, though, so maybe the quality is there, but I have enough products that I’m happy with in terms of color & quality. I am interested, however, in the Illicit eye color, if it is more than just a copper, as I have seen it swatched on other sites, but I trust the photos here in terms of color. Will you be posting photos, Christine?

Am I the only who thinks they copied the np colors from the Dior 2011 Holiday Collection? I can appreciate the quality of Tom Ford’s products but if they want to compete with other luxury brands at those prices they’re going to have to come up with some unique colors that no one else has.

The colors are pretty, but I agree with the other commenters – this doesn’t really feel like a spring collection. But tbh, so far the Tom Ford line has left me underwhelmed. The items I’ve seen at the counter were nice enough, but at this price point I expect something truly luxurious or unique, and I don’t think the line quite measures up (so far) in either regard.

I agree that this looks like a traditional holiday collection, not something I’d expect to see out of a spring collection.

Not a Tom Ford fan…I can totally see him picking at something from Dean & Deluca going ” I’m going to throw all Holiday I possibly can at them- Tom Ford can do anything he wants!! (insert evil laughter)” Like J. Peterman from Seinfeld but far more egomaniacal…
