For color, Ben Nye Grande Lumiere (does anyone else remember when that was Leesha’s jam?)
For neutrals, UD Naked (original)

Cassandra Avatar

Naked 1. It is just my perfect palette. It goes with me on trips, and it’s used probably half the time I do my make-up. It’s ridiculous how attached to it I am.

Nancy T Avatar

A MAC quad I put together containing: Orb, Soft Brown, Antiqued, and Woodwinked. Or Lorac Pro and Unzipped palettes. These are my “comfy spot”, especially if I’m strapped for time or terribly indecisive.

Rachel R. Avatar

Well, I don’t have any really old palettes that I always go back to, because for over a decade I used almost nothing but BareMinerals loose eye colors and maybe a drugstore quad here and there (allergies, super-oily lids, bad finances). There were a couple of BareMinerals collections I go back to a lot: One with six nudes, one with four bright colors, and one with trio of matte plums.

Palettes from the last 5 years(ish): UD Naked Basics, UD Electric Palette, Too Faced Chocolate Bar, Wet n Wild Comfort Zone, and Bobbi Brown Day To Night Eye Shadow and Eye Liner Brush Set (those sparkly plums and grays are my favorites for a dressy purple smokey eye).

WnW Comfort Zone is a really hard one to top. Even here in Canada, it’s $5, which is amazing in and of itself and then, add in the fact that these shadows are amazingly good quality and they’re great dupes for a whole lot of much pricier eyeshadows and it really is just a fabulous palette to have. I only wish it travelled better – if it did, it would be the palette I take with me everywhere.

Kuávsui Avatar

I mostly use my Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks but I wish I had taken my Comfort Zone with me instead of the Naked original when I took off for the summer! It’s so versatile and suits my warm skintone and green eyes just perfectly.

Between the Naked palette, IsaDora Matte Chocolates and Sleek’s Eye & Cheek in Dancing Till Dusk I have more neutrals than I can probably ever use up and I find that I still miss Comfort Zone the most when I don’t have it at hand. I wish there was a deluxe version, double the size of the regular, lol!

xamyx Avatar

I don’t know if it was just weird lighting, but I think Comfort Zone may have recently been reformulated, as some of the shades looked a bit different when I passed a display the other day… If it was indeed reformulated, I hope the quality is still there!

Viseart Paris Nudes and Matte Neutrals (do 2 count?) Finding multiple uses for them together, trying to stay away from dupes because they have such a wide ranges of colors, and using them for blush/contour/eyebrows. Trying to talk self out of UD Smokey.

xamyx Avatar

UD Naked Smokey is literally the last palette I need, but I know resistance is futile, LOL! Those are all the types of shades I’m drawn too, so it stands to reason I have comparable palettes/shades, but…

Amare Avatar

Since my custom MAC palette is used daily for transition and blending purposes, I would have to say that I always go back to my Too Faced Chocolate Bar palettes, Naked 3 and Lorac Pro (original). I make sure each of my palettes get used on a regular but when I have those in rotation, they tend to stay a little longer than all of the rest.

Laura_Lou Avatar

Urban Decay Naked Basics (original) perfect size for travel, mostly mattes (which I prefer), simple everyday colours that can be used for day or smoked up for nighttime. I love it!

Grace Avatar

Naked2. I threw mine out after it was petty much used and broken but I still miss it. Naked3 is my go to now but it’s not the same, and the Nars Dual Intensity pallette is becoming a staple. I just ordered Naked Smoky so we’ll see how that goes. I have a feeling it’ll either be my new go to or a quick return.

YoKasta Martinez Avatar

My go-to palettes are the Urban Decay Vice 2 and Vice LTD palettes – I use them so much I bought a second Vice LTD palette when Ulta put them on sale last week for $39!!! If you missed out on getting it the first time around, I would snag it now before they’re gone!!

Nancy T Avatar

You just reminded me of how much I actually do use my UD Vice Ltd. palette! It’s like having a Naked palette but with a few wilder colors thrown in. Lots of great neutrals, too. So yeah, I love it!

Katherine T. Avatar

I rotate among different palettes, but I guess UD Naked is the most used because their neutrals, which I prefer to pair with a bold lip

Tessa Avatar

UD Naked Basics (1, the original).

Weeeeeeell, to be fair, I’ve used the Pulp Fiction one even more since I got it. It’s maybe a toss-up which is The Standby at this point.

Ginny Avatar

Too Faced Boudoir Eyes. Use it almost every work day but it’s great for smoky looks, too. It’s really flattering for dark brown eyes.

xamyx Avatar

NYX Butt Naked Eyes palette. It’s one of the few cool-toned neutral palettes ever created, and is completely fool-proof on mornings I don’t want to/can’t put any real effort into getting ready.

When traveling, since the NYX palette is so large & can’t be replaced if broken, I just grab all my Naked palettes, which I keep in a makeup bag.

zVintageFashionizta Avatar

My Tarte CC Basics Palette & the color Crave from the UD Basics palette (I wish they would make that color a single because it is the only color I hit pan).

Jenn Avatar

My old standby for the last few years has been a Dior quint, Earth Reflection 609 (the only Dior eyeshadow I’ve ever liked!). But the last few months, my go to has become the Viseart Neutral Mattes and Naked 1

Katherine T. Avatar

Oh, I’m a fan of Dior Earth Reflections too! Great quality and easy-to-use colors. Wish their more recent palettes were as good…

Kate Avatar

Too Faced Chocolate Bar! I swear, the colors are just perfect, they blend seemlessly, there’s a ton of diversity you can achieve with it..it’s just perfect!
I think a close second would probably be the Tarte Tartelette palette (even though it’s from this year), it’s just a good palette to have if I’m looking for that one shade to bring the look together, it’s usually in the TF Chocolate or the Tarte palette.

Lotus Avatar

Ah, that’s my second favorite! Much better than her Chocolate one! Or any, really, in my opinion. It’s just magical for nudes/neutrals! 🙂

Celesta Avatar

I always, always, always use the Two Faced Natural Matte Palette. It is the perfect set of colors for fair neutral skin tones! I use it every single day. And I also use ColourPop shadows… I just can’t seem to get enough of them!

Lydia Avatar

Sleek Makeup Vintage Romance! Perfect for smoky eyes and halo eyes (my favorite ways to use the palette), but it can also be used for more natural looks.

Gretchen Avatar

For the most part, always my Naked 3 and Naked Basics 2. I think I have like 25 palettes but these two have been my go to and also my travel palettes!

Lauren Avatar

I switch around a lot. I do have a few favorites that I just love and it’s like “coming home” when I use them. I would put Stila in the Light (Discontinued), UD Naked 1, and Lorac Unzipped in that category. I also really like the MAC Nordstrom Naturals Palette. That one is a more recent acquisition.

For me, the test is what I would want to bring if I’m traveling for a week or 10 days. I would be happy with any of those palettes.

mish-mash Avatar

You got me…Urban Decay Nakeds…I have them all…and love them, I have brown eyes …I also have an old Lancome powder pencil in an olive that works beautifully .

Sam P Avatar

My dupe version of Naked 3 (which I think is just as good as the original). I love those pinky tones so much! I’ve got a dupe of Naked 2 I use quite a lot too. In fact between those two the rest of my eyeshadow collection is pretty neglected!

Christy Avatar

Mine is my Z-Palette with several Rouge Bunny Rouge shadows and a bunch of the new MUFE shadows, plus a matte vanilla and a matte taupe from UD Naked 2. The new MUFE neutrals palette has quickly become a standby, though.

BooBooNinja Avatar

What RBR shadows do you have? I’m thinking of ordering a couple of their matte shades. Via HauteLook, I picked up Delicate Hummingbird, Golden Rhea, and Bohemian Waxwing. The RBR eyeshadow formula is fantastic.

Christy Avatar

I am a *huge* RBR fan!!! I need to get some of their mattes, too–Solstice Halcyon is the closest I’ve got of theirs to a matte, but it’s not marketed as a matte. It goes well in the crease with Delicate Hummingbird on the lid. I have the following shadows–favorites are starred:
– *Unforgettable Oriole
– *Bohemian Waxwing (probably gets the most use–love!)
– *Solstice Halcyon
– *Delicate Hummingbird
– Eclipse Eagle
– *Abyssinian Catbird (to die for!)
– *Capricious Nightingale
– *Angelic Cockatiels
– *Tantalizing Lovebird
– Bejeweled Skylark
– Olive Violetear (doesn’t go as well with Abyssinian Catbird as I thought it would)
– Periwinkle Cardinal
– Mountain Bluebird
– Electrifying Storm-Petrel
– Embrace of Cashmere (loose powder in the vial w/applicator)

I love their blushes, foundations, and the aqua primer as well (have Orpheline and Florita blushes and use both a ton). Really want to get the white/pink eyeliner and Chestnut-Napped Apalis matte shadow.

Lorac Pro 2 Palette. It’s awesome for work, get togethers, and everyday glam. Even the darkest shades look awesome on my chocolate skin tone. Like, that’s pretty hard to beat. lol

Ali's Gigi Avatar

At 1st it used to be Lorac, Unzipped. But that was my 1st real eye-shadow palette. But them I made my own w/ MAC and MUG and a medium sized one w/ Bobbi Browns. I use these two palette’s EVERY day and love them. I usually prefer using the z palette’s and making my own that way I use all the colors and customize it, rather than get the artists picks. Funny, I thought I just had to have the Tartlette, I mean I needed it. LOL I looked in my made palette’s this weekend before I caved and realized I have almost exact, or very close dupes for all the colors and in shadows that I already love. 🙂

Susan Dowman Nevling Avatar

UD NAKED palettes. I have all five and have Smoky on order. I do intermixe with other colors and palettes at times. I also love Laura Mercier’s neutral punish palette. I always apply wet over primer.

Cat Avatar

As a whole, I’ve used the KVD Shade & Light eye palette more frequently since I purchased it than any other palette I own. However, I use the Tarte Be-Mattenificent palette in conjunction with other shadows almost every time I do my makeup.

Caroline Avatar

Urban Decay Naked 2. I call it The Boomerang Effect because no matter how many times I may grow tired of using it day in, day out, I always, always go back to it in the end 🙂

Candice Avatar

I don’t wear eye makeup all that often, but anytime I get the desire to in the middle of the week, or for a day look, it’s always UD Naked Basics (the first)! And the palette I ALWAYS pull out if I want more of an evening or popping look is UD Vice 2.
Reading the other responses reaminded me of WnW Comfort Zone and the other more pinky one that can definitely be worked for a nice day look. I should pull that out once in a while!!

Emm Avatar

Naked Basics 1+2 and Too Faced Boudoir Eyes. Thought I was wasting my money when I bought them, but I keep going back to them because of the nudes go with everything and the cool toned colors in the Boudoir palette is perfect for a pop of color when needed.

melissa Avatar

urban decay naked basics 2 or my indie cosmetics fire opal , smut & lovely secrets by monennui.com, i find myself reaching for more lol

Jade Avatar

Naked 1, Naked 2 and Naked Basics! I always fall back on those. I have Naked 3 also but rarely use it (I might give it another crack tomorrow, millionth times the charm right?!).
