Precious Petals

Wet ‘n’ Wild Precious Petals MegaGlo Highlighting Powder ($4.99 for 0.19 oz.) is a medium gold with warm, yellow undertones and a metallic sheen. It was a stronger, more obvious highlighter, so it would be best suited for someone who prefers intense highlighting over subtle highlighting. There was slight emphasis of my skin’s natural texture when worn at medium or higher coverage.

The formula is supposed to be “velvety-smooth” and give a “naturally luminous glow.” The powder was soft, blendable, and just a touch loose in the pan, but it was easy to apply to the high points of the face and diffuse the color. For a less intense sheen, I’d recommend using a fan brush or a very light hand and just lightly dusting on the skin instead. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading.

This is a fantastic option for anyone who has wanted some of the hyped-up, limited edition gold highlighters we’ve seen over the last six months, since it’s very, very similar to so many of them.

Formula Overview

$4.99/0.19 oz. - $26.26 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with a “silky smooth” texture that is “easy-to-blend.” The shades ranged from semi-opaque to opaque typically with smooth, denser textures that weren't stiff or difficult to work with. A couple of shades seemed a touch drier in the pan but did not appear dry on my skin usually. They blended out nicely and lasted around eight hours on average.

Crown of my Canopy

Wet ‘n’ Wild Crown of My Canopy MegaGlo Highlighting Powder ($4.99 for 0.19 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark copper with warm, golden undertones and flecks of pink and gold micro-glitter and shimmer. This shade had more visible glitter on the skin compared to Precious Petals. The consistency was also less smooth, drier, and more prone to sheering out. What I found was that I could buff and blend out the color so that it appeared smooth on my cheekbones, and when I did that, there were very few glitters left. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading.

Christine, these were LE, but they were so wildly popular, I believe Wet N Wild made them permanent this year, and they are available on their website. Interested readers can sign up for their emails, as they do occasionally offer free shipping with no $ 35 minimum. I got mine last year, and was stunned by how soft and silky Precious Petals was, the shimmer and finish is very refined, as good as any of my ME and HE highlighters. It’s very close to my Dior Glowing Gardens Nude highlighter, which costs about 12x more. As for Crown of my Canopies, mine is the same quality as Precious Petals, there’s no dryness or chunky glitter, but it’s too warm for by NC15-20 skin, but it makes a very pretty blush topper during the summer time. I highly recommend both products, great budget finds, and dupes for many ME and HE highlighters

Having heard many rave about Precious Petals, I’m really glad to see it do so well! A great backup for when (if?) I ever use up all the gold highlighters in my possession.
Feeling VERY relieved and happy that I have Colourpop Might Be heading my way! Because Crown Of My Canopy, while pretty, just seems like a lot of trouble and effort is needed to get it to look as beautiful as it does in the face picture!

I’m surprised to see that the two shades rated so differently! I would get the Precious Petals one if it’s available here, but I doubt it. We have a really limited selection of WnW, it’s only the permanent items that have been around forever and unfortunately WnW doesn’t ship worldwide!
