Wet 'n' Wild Pearlescent Pink Color Icon Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
Pearlescent Pink
Wet ‘n’ Wild Pearlescent Pink Color Icon Blush ($2.99 for 0.20 oz.) is a brighter, medium pink-coral with a golden shimmer. After blending out the powder, the finish was more of a satin sheen.
The brand says that it’s supposed to be a “buildable, blendable powder” with “long-lasting color.” The consistency was slightly drier with moderate amounts of excess powder that kicked up in the pan, but I had no trouble blending and diffusing the edges of the blush on my skin, and I did not feel like it looked dry applied. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that lasted for seven hours on me.

The swatch doesn’t look that great, but glad it applies and looks better on the skin!
Yeah, it definitely does not have a refined/silky kind of texture of better powders, but it looks nice on, which is really what counts the most!
Very pretty on you!
I think these Wet n Wild blushes might have a quality control issue. I’ve had two different Rose Champagnes, one more pink and the other more gold.
I used to have an older version of Pearlescent Pink that was more demure than the one in this review, you know, back when it had a swirl imprinted on it? 😀
How long between purchases, Joyce? Sometimes I find that colors can vary over time (like a product that’s been in production for a decade), but if they were both purchased in a relatively short period of time, then that’s definitely bad.
For Rose Champagne, I’d say weeks. I remember grabbing it when it first launched because people were obsessed (I really liked it too). But I was like… hmm why is everyone’s more gold and mine more pink? Then I went to the store and saw a bunch of gold ones on the shelf!
I mean, I liked both, but felt uneasy about recommending because people might get a different color variation?
That’s definitely weird and problematic exactly for the reason you mentioned – how can you recommend it knowing that it’ll be one color for some and another for others? It’s one thing if there’s just a tiny difference but totally different if they are more distinctively different!
I have read that there was a highlighter with the same name. Maybe that was the case here? My Rose Champagne blush is definitely nude with gold shimmer.
I have the same curious color variation in 2 separate “Pearlescent Pink” blushes from them, as well. I purchased both at a military installation, so perhaps color changes are due to bring under very hot lights for extended periods. (I say such bc a DC blush my niece snagged from me was waiting for me there lol. Needless to say, I’m thrilled to have my beloved Lancôme in Cappuccine in my collection again! Clearly, quite a price difference from my Drugstore items, but I am loyal to quality over price point. I used to be a complete luxury snob prior to extensive chemistry courses, research, and product testing years ago. Many formulas are nearly identical when a parent company owns a primary brand that is in their portfolio. More on that later!
That’s true now that i remember. I have both the ones with the swirl and then bought these new ones but I do love them all. Time to bring them forward fron my shelves I actually did that yesterday rotate them around. Although I love the Milani rose ones for the design i find the WetnWild much more smooth. Physians Formula are so nice too. The Milani baked ones are great though. I got a little crazy on blushes lately.
This is a stunning blush – this was my very first blush from the drugstore and I have fond memories with it 🙂
Awww!
I think its nice that you reviewed a very reasonably priced product for those readers who may not be able to afford a high end product. Its nice to see that it actually met the claims the brand made too.
🙂
I love the Color Icon blushes and have them all.
Which one is your fave?
Rose Champagne
I’m excited to see you reviewing more budget priced products! This color looks pretty on you.
Thank you! 🙂
What a gorgeous shade! An exceptionally good price for a reasonable product.
It is pretty!
This is my favorite color from WetnWild I apply it with a soft brush since I’m pale. Is so beautiful I give it an A. Love it! Have tried many of the others and like them all. Really like tgecimbrr ines as well since I have to go light. The mauve is so pretty! Or to mix with others blushes.
Happy to hear you enjoy this one, Silvia!
I did a comparison post of the old verses new versions of the shades Pearlescent Pink & Mellow Wine last year. It’s definatly more powdery in the pan but I actually like the wear of the new version more. It’s my second favorite drugstore fromula next to Essence for Blush now though. 😉

I hadn’t event thought of Benefit GALifornia being a dupe for this one because on my pale skin Pearlescent Pink is way cooler and less vibrant of pink with my version. lol But being so fair the differnce it like adding it to white paper. lol
Thank you for the comparison!! 🙂
It looks better than the swatch! Not bad!
It definitely works better in practice!
