My skin tone/coloring: Light neutral, MAC NC20
Favorite look you wore: Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette: I used Georgia as transition, PurĆ©e in crease, Summer Yum on outer lid and blended into outer crease, Bless Her Heart on center lid, Nectar on inner corner. (At least I think this is what I did…it came out really nice, in any case.)
Most used product of the week: Clinique Brow Shaper in Charcoaled and Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette
Any new beauty discoveries: No new discoveries, but a couple of rediscoveries: (1) I just started using my Sweet Peach eyeshadow palette for the first time in many months. I wish it was fragrance-free, though. (2) My other rediscovery was Chanel Coco Mademoiselle fragrance. I used to wear it literally decades ago, and then got tired of it. Two days ago, I was at Ulta and, on a whim, I sprayed the CCM tester on my wrists. I had forgotten how pretty it is! I sniffed my wrists so many times for the rest of the day. I think it’s going to be on my Christmas list.
I love Chanel Mademoiselle Coco too. My husband and I were having breakfast at a restaurant the first time we smelled it. A French woman, how appropriate, walked past our table and we both caught a whiff. I liked it so much that I went over to her table to ask what it was. I hadn’t ever done that before and I haven’t done it since, but I’m so glad that I did.
My skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Favorite look you’ve worn: EYES — UD Primer Potion in Enigma; e.l.f. Glitter Primer on lids and inner corner. Medusa’s Makeup Eye Dust in Night Owl on lids; UD e/s in Laced in the crease; ABH Moonchild highlighter in Lucky Clover on the brow bone; Medusa’s Makeup Glitter Eyeshadow in Key Lime Pie on inner corner. Jordana Cat Eye Liner in Envy on lower lashline; e.l.f. Intense Ink Eyeliner in Blackest Black for winged top liner; UD 23/7 Eye Pencil in Perversion on upper and lower waterlines; Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara. CHEEKS — Tarte Exposed and ABH Lucky Clover. LIPS — Medusa’s Makeup MetalAF Lipgloss in Kiss Me Deadly.
Most used product of the week: Tarte Blush in Paaarty; e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation
Any new beauty discoveries: Medusa’s Makeup MetalAF Lipgloss in Kiss Me Deadly. It’s a warm, shimmery metallic purple and I absolutely love it.
Skin tone: Very pale with cool undertones. I am about MAC NW 5-10.
Favorite look from this week: I didn’t wear a lot of makeup this week as I was out of town until about 1 hour ago and was completing some medical testing. In any event, my favorite look was using the Smashbox Ablaze Cover Shot e/s palette. I used all of the neutral shades to create a simple eye look. I didn’t purchase this palette when it first launched but purchased this week and have enjoyed using it the few times I applied makeup this week. I used my Tarte Sephora birthday blush in Paaaarty. This blush is so versatile. It doesn’t look like anything special in the pan but applied to the cheeks it transforms into this stunning shade. I used MAC lipstick in Twig, I think. Might have been Whirl, not sure.
Most used product this week: I will have to go with my Chosungah 22 foundation. I am loving having it back in my collection. It has a strong peach undertone which suits my skin tone perfectly. It is not matte but not super dewy either so enhances my dry complexion without making me feel greasy.
New beauty discovery: Nothing new but a rediscovery in my stash. I had not been using my NARS products and had been thinking about decluttering them as I was upset with their change in cruelty status. My daughter reminded me that the products are already produced and purchased and to throw them away would not help the animals or have any impact on NARS as they already collected the money for these products. In other words, don’t let the animals sacrifice be for nothing. Not sure I am 100% on board with that thought process but in any event, I have been using some of my NARS products over the past week and had forgotten how much I love Sin blush. A stunning color and finish.
I am in the market for a new waterline product. The one that I have been using is a drugstore and doesn’t last on my waterline. It shifts, bleeds down and collects in the tear duct area. I was wondering what products other Temptalia readers like to use in their waterline and tight line? Thank you.
I use ABH’s Waterproof Creme Color for tightlining my upper lid. It stays on quite well and doesn’t bother my eyes. I’ve never used it on my bottom waterline, though. My eyes tear too much to allow anything there.
Thank you Seraphine. I hadn’t realized that ABH made an eye liner pencil. I will look into it.
Itās actually a little pot and I use a liner brush to push it into my lash line.
I like UD 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils on my waterlines, especially perversion. Once set, it doesn’t move! Gel liners work great on waterlines, too. My favorite gels are Tarte’s, but I’ve hear Inglot’s are really good, too.
I have a UD 24/7 Pencil in Perversion, I think. It is quite old and I remember it not setting and smearing. Wonder if the formula was changed? I will pick up another one and try it. I remember them having some really pretty colors. Thanks Rachel.
I LOVE wearing paaarty with twig!! It’s a very good combo!!!
My skin tone/coloring: Fair/ light and neutral/ cool, black hair, blue eyes
Favorite look you worn: The one I’m wearing today! I combined a few shades from the Naked Heat palette with Inglot 495 and the Mac pigment Follow Your Fancy, so it’s almost a coral smoky eye (if coral can be “smoky”). I’m also wearing Gueralin Jolie Teint 01 and Nars Vibeke lipstick. The thing that I like about this look is that the products seem like they wouldn’t work on my complexion, but somehow they come together really nicely.
Most used product of the week: Other than mascara and concealer, I don’t think I’ve repeated any! I’ve even been trying out some different foundation samples, so that’s been different most days.
Any new beauty discoveries: Axiology lipstick. It’s very nice and the colour I got (Vibration) is unique, but I don’t know that it quite justifies its price (equal to Nars Audacious in Canada and $10 more than Bite Amuse Bouche, both of which I would say are superior). It’s good but not great.
“Coral smoky eye” — I like the sound of that!
My skin tone/coloring: Light to medium, neutral undertones
Favorite look I wore: Chanel Candeur et Experience. I used the lightest brown all over, the medium brown in the crease and upwards in a diagonal, the red on my lid, and the dark brown in the outer corner of my lid and crease. I dusted the metallic rust color from the Viseart Theory II in the inner corner and I used some Laura Mercier highlighter in the outer corner. It settles a little in my crows feet but my glasses hide it. I carved out my eyebrows with the Nyx Wonder Pencil.
Most used product this week: I kind of use the same things everyday.
New beauty discoveries: Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Moisture Foundation. This stuff is amazing. It is super-blendable and lasts all day and covers the redness around my nose so I donāt need concealer. It does not sink into pores or lines. Given how expensive it is and its not being widely available, I spent some money on samples and am working through the various colors. This may be my HG.
It took me >2 years to find a foundation, between my allergies and how yellow…not too warm, yellow…they all look. KGD Aqua 013. The only downside is the shade range. Iām between an NW 15-20, and wear the darkest ācoolā shade. Seems pretty non-inclusive. KGD makes a great product. Getting the samples is so worth it.
I am so glad you found something. Two years is a long time for something so basic as foundation. It did feel strange to spend money on samples but it was so worthwhile. After two days trying the moisturizing formula, I tried the aqua today and found it did not work as well for me as the moisturizing formula. I needed three layers to get the coverage I wanted and my skinās texture was emphasized too much. Without the ability to sample, I would have gone for the aqua formula and missed out on something great for me. I agree with you that the shade range is not ideal but thatās something I have noticed with Japanese cosmetics. My understanding is that pale skin is prized there and they look to foundation to lighten their complexions instead of to perfect their natural skin tones.
My skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Favourite look you worn: An olive look using The Scenic Route duo – Spectacular on the lids, a matte taupe from Sephora’s It palette in the crease, Half Baked from Naked in the corners to complement my new olive shaded top. I used Clarins Jolie Rouge lipstick in Cinnamon Spice to finish off.
Most used product of the week: Natio’s Dose of Colours Golden palette this week – lots of lovely neutral shades.
Any new beauty discoveries: That I am a skincare and perfume addict? I cleaned out my perfume shelf in our linen closet this week (all the empty bottles) and found it looking a tad bare. My husband remarked, “Oh, wow – you down to your last 25 bottles!” Very funny!
And whilst I was in the mood to sort out, I did a little stocktake of my ‘spare’ skincare products and narrowed it down to a couple of big bags in my wardrobe. Until, I saw that wonderful deal at Priceline…..and have another new bag.
Skintone / coloring : light, MAC NC 20, med brown hair and eyes
Favorite look worn : MAC Vanilla as base/ browbone color. MAC Wedge in the crease. Kevin Aucoin Sugared Peach on eyelid. Kevin Aucoin Rusty Brown to deepen crease. MAC Teddy Eyeliner. Clinique High Impact Black Mascara. Cargo Tonga Blush. Clinique Bamboo Pink Lipstick.
Most Used Product : Cargo Tonga Blush. Clinique High Impact Black Mascara. ABH Brow Wiz.
New Beauty Discoveries : Elizabeth Arden Lip Primer. Kevin Aucoin 210 Sugared Peach / Rusty Brown Eyeshadow Duo. MAC I’m Glistening Lipstick.
I’m very interested in MAC Vanilla. I wound up buying Blanc Type a few months ago to use as a base, because Vanilla seemed to have a bit of sparkle and I wasn’t sure how that would look under other shadows. How does the sparkle affect shades like Wedge (which I also own)? Do you think it could also work in the inner corners?
There is a slight glitter to Vanilla but it truly doesn’t translate once applied to the eye. It is very subtle so it really wouldn’t work as an inner corner highlight imo
It’s a great base shade. And I’ve used the heck out of it for the last 2 years and I’ve yet to hit pan. I have Blanc Type and that was my go to and I have a back up but now I think I prefer Vanilla
Thanks, Erica. I’ll definitely try Vanilla next time I need a new base shade.
Just psyched that I got to wear some today. Never really remember the entire look, esp with the background soundtrack of annoyed dog. She really does thing she is starring in Bitches Wrongfully Imprisoned. Julep Taupe stick in the crease, evergreen shimmer in the outer vee, browbone and mid lid were from desert sunset, I think, orangish, and matte beige. Inner TD julep stick champagne shimmer. The warmer pencil from UD Heat, the basquiat one would have been better. Mufe canyon with abh Lyra or eclipse. DR. Highlighter, OMBFG. LQ rust saint. Iām just impressed that someone was quiet and calm enough to let me do it! Only wore m/u today, so cannot say favorite. Most used, various concealers and Paula long name TM. Discovered that you can layer cp satin LL over regular l/s for color modification. Did not know it would do that, bec the formulas are so different.
My skin tone/coloring: fair/warm (elf Flawless Finish Foundation in Natural/Porcelain)
Favorite look you worn: Smashbox Cover Shot Eyeshadow in Turned On (from the little Ulta freebie), elf Mad for Matte Summer Breeze Palette, elf Pencil Eyeliner in Smoked Violet (put some of the purple from the palette on top of it because it wasn’t the tone I wanted), Wet n Wild ColorIcon Blush in Pearlescent Pink, Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter in Sin, and Clinique Pop Glaze in Sugar Plum Pop.
Most used product of the week: Makeup Revolution Iconic 3
Any new beauty discoveries: I discovered that I can put an Ulta Glitter Top Coat Eyeshadow on top of liner and it looks amazing!
