Ivoire

Viseart Ivoire Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a soft beige with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation with a soft, silky consistency that wasn’t too powdery nor too firmly pressed in the pan. The color applied evenly to bare skin and had good adhesion without primer. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview

-

The eyeshadow formula is supposed to be "pigment[ed]" with "smooth and even application" that is "long-lasting." The matte shades are typically semi-opaque to opaque but buildable with soft, velvety textures that can sometimes be a little powdery or slightly firm, depending on the shade. I find that the mattes are often best suited to someone who likes control over pigmentation and may prefer to build up color; they regularly perform better in practice than just swatched on the arm as well.

The shimmer shades range from satin to metallic, and the more metallic shades tend to feel creamier to the touch, while the satin ones have a fine pearl to them that looks almost melted on the lid once blended out. Both the mattes and shimmers are blendable and easy to work with. Most of Viseart's eyeshadows wear between seven and nine hours on me.

Croissant (Warm Mattes #2)

Viseart Croissant (Warm Mattes #2) Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a soft, muted yellow with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage in one layer, which applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of color. The texture was soft without being too powdery or too firmly pressed in the pan, and it applied better in practice than it may have appeared in the swatch. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours on me before I noticed fading.

Starlight (GPV2 #2)

Viseart Starlight (Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #2) Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a light-medium, dirty gold with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had more medium, buildable pigmentation (I’d recommend using it with a wet brush for highest coverage), which was as described by the brand for this particular finish (“Crystalline”). The consistency was smooth to the touch, a little less firmly pressed than some of the brand’s matte eyeshadows, but it blended out well and those who like sparkly, washes of color will enjoy it in particular. It wore nicely for eight hours on me before fading slightly.

Beurre (Warm Mattes #1)

Viseart Beurre (Warm Mattes #1) Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a soft, pale yellow with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had buildable coverage from medium to semi-opaque with light powderiness, though it was blendable and sat well on bare skin (didn’t appear dry). The texture was soft to the touch but needed a light tap to get rid of the excess, and there was some excess product that kicked up in the pan. It lasted well for eight hours on me before I noticed any fading. It was a bit sheerer than the palette version I have from before.

Coy is #1 on my resist list….followed by the new Melt. If I can get through summer, maybe I won’t be lemming Coy as much. I need it like I need more grass to mow. But that palette is gorgeous. this second round seems a bit better quality. Maybe they looked at Christine’s reviews to choose the next batch of singles.
