Praline

Viseart Praline Petits Fours Eyeshadow Palette ($22.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a new release that includes three shimmery eyeshadows and one matte eyeshadow across shades with warmer undertones. The eyeshadows had mostly opaque to opaque color payoff, and they were easy to apply and blend out with solid longevity.

Sucre

Sucre is a light copper with moderate, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. The consistency was smooth, lightly emollient, and firmer (but not thick) without becoming stiff to work with. It had opaque color payoff that applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even laydown of product. It lasted nicely for nine hours before showing signs of fading.

Formula Overview

-

The eyeshadow formula is supposed to be "pigment[ed]" with "smooth and even application" that is "long-lasting." The matte shades are typically semi-opaque to opaque but buildable with soft, velvety textures that can sometimes be a little powdery or slightly firm, depending on the shade. I find that the mattes are often best suited to someone who likes control over pigmentation and may prefer to build up color; they regularly perform better in practice than just swatched on the arm as well.

The shimmer shades range from satin to metallic, and the more metallic shades tend to feel creamier to the touch, while the satin ones have a fine pearl to them that looks almost melted on the lid once blended out. Both the mattes and shimmers are blendable and easy to work with. Most of Viseart's eyeshadows wear between seven and nine hours on me.

Caramelise

Caramelise is a brighter, light gold with strong, warm undertones and a metallic finish. It was richly pigmented with a soft, more loosely-pressed texture, so it was easy to pick up more product than necessary, which resulted in excess product kicked up in the pan and some fallout. The eyeshadow applied evenly and blended out well. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.

Praline (Petits Fours)

Praline (Petits Fours) is a light, warmer bronze with a metallic sheen. The eyeshadow had opaque color payoff in a single layer, which adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out with ease along the edges. The texture was soft, smooth, and not too firmly nor too softly pressed into the pan. It wore well for nine hours before fading visibly.

Pecan

Pecan is a muted, medium brown with warm, yellow undertones and a matte finish. The texture was soft, blendable, and lightly powdery, more so in the pan than during application. It had nearly opaque, buildable pigmentation that lasted well for nine hours before fading noticeably.

I absolutely love this quad – every single shade. Even the matte one I would, perhaps use. It has just the right kind of nuances for me. I have dupes for a couple of shades – from the Pixi Beauty Reflex Light palette, but that’s about it. It may well be my first Viseart purchase.

On paper, this should be the most unexciting quad in existence. In reality, I am oddly mesmerised!

I thought Lilas and Framboise were lovely, but this has just captured my heart instantly.

Definitely don’t need it but I love Viseart, I have Rose Edit on my eyes today – aaahhhh, decisions!
