Not bad, I might have considered it if it were at a Colour Pop price point or if the Urban Decay formula got better.
Some nice swatches, and I’m pleasantly surprised that they eye shadows look good (yes, it’s basically another neutral palette with a pop of blue for which I am a sucker). But I cannot get passed the bulky packaging. It would have to score an “A” or higher before I would possibly consider buying and storing this thing. AND…drumroll…I wouldn’t pay full price. I didn’t wait on the UD Prince collection and I think it literally went on sale the next week. Lesson learned. Finally.
If they’re not crap (and given UD’s new stuff of late, that’s quite the big “if”), there are some shadows in that palette that look really good and a lot are shades I would actually wear on a daily basis. And Agility lipstick looks great too. Fingers crossed on this release (even though I’m not a Marvel Universe follower).
Not sure what Christine’s review will be, but I’ve been wearing the palette all week and so far I’m really impressed with the quality – I grabbed it knowing it could be hit or miss, but I love Marvel and decided to take the risk. It’s one of UD’s best releases as of late (in my opinion).
As for those eyeliner swatches, I’m thinking it’s a good thing I skipped those…
This palette really reminds me of the layout/quality of Born to Run – which appears to have been discontinued (!!)
This looks like a mixed quality release. The OG Book of Shadows vibe is sooo nostalgic and the eyeshadows look decent, but the eyeliners look so patchy! The highlighters also don’t seem to be high quality. The glitter lipsticks also don’t look great. Yet again seems like a disappointment from UD and a waste of a cool collaboration. Still, every time there’s a new release I have high hopes for UD. Really, every time. My very first ever makeup love, after all. So maybe the review will be good after all?
I am a bit suprrised that the eyeshadow palette has swatched OK – but it’s just a random assortment of yellowy orangey kind of shades to me – with a couple of extra colours thrown in – the blue and the green. The inclusion of the matte black is surprising, as it looks so out of place here.
The lipsticks aren’t wowing me either.
*yawn* sums this up pretty well for me. It has all the hallmarks of combining all the popular things right now in to one boring location. Mostly matte nudes? Check. Token blue? Check. Mint’s been swinging around this year, wanna include that? Check. Rinse and repeat. I’m totally checked out on the palette. And normally I like their pencils but these don’t look that great?
I only want Mission and Eternal 24/7 eye pencils, as I’m not a Marvel fan-girl. But those pencils look really interesting and fun.
Oh dear, some of those swatches do not inspire hope. The shimmery lipsticks look pretty, though.
Sad to say I don’t see anything that excites me. There are tow shades in the palette I like, Cosmic Blast and Genius, the rest of the shades I think I have dupes for, or wouldn’t want. The liners a maybe for Cosmic Mission and a no for the rest. Lipsticks, again a maybe for Agility and Knowledge and a no for the rest. The highlighters aren’t in colours I’d use.
So some are on a maybe list, pending reviews the rest a simple pass.
I do feel a bit sad, UD used to have so much fun and exciting releases once upon a time, didn’t they.
So disappointed in the eyeliners. They were the only points of interest for me.
This is a well thought-out palette. There are plenty of mattes to make a variety of looks. At first I was like, brown mattes….but then I saw that you could make the look lean neutral, yellow, orange or pink with the mattes. Very versatile.
I also like the new shape of the lipstick tubes.
