Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Collection for November 2015

The limited edition collection will launch on November 22nd at urbandecay.com, Urban Decay stores, as well as Sephora, Ulta, and Macy’s.

“When Urban Decay came to me to collaborate, I immediately thought it was a perfect match. The way they’ve built their company is very similar to my aesthetic and approach. It’s all about creative self-expression, being strong and not being afraid to go outside of the box. Everyone in my life knows I absolutely love makeup. From a very young age, it was an artistic passion of mine. I actually used to be a makeup artist. I love wearing makeup and having so many ways to express myself through it. It’s my war paint. To be able to do a collaboration with people who get that concept and who are just as passionate about it is a dream come true. We’ve made and created products that I actually wear every single day. It’s the real thing. I’m obsessed with everything we’ve done, and I can’t wait to share it.” — Gwen Stefani

“We’ve always been such huge fans of Gwen’s work over at UD. We’ve wanted to make this project happen for years, and finally it was the right time. We found a true partner in her, and it was amazing to channel her energy and creativity into these products. She truly represents the Urban Decay spirit.” — Wende Zomnir

I’m predicting a neutral eyeshadow palette & a handful of lipsticks… I love Urban Decay, and have been a fan of Gwen Stefani since No Doubt was still just a local band, but I’m not getting my hopes up on this one. I don’t think it’ll be much different than the UD/Pulp Fiction collection (again, big fan, but nothing exciting). While I’m expecting a nice collection, I doubt it will be something worth tracking down and/or sacrificing other purchases for…

LOL, my thoughts exactly! Neutral matte eyes with red lips. Shocker! It’s Gwen’s classic look. I also love Pulp Fiction but didn’t find any of it unique enough to purchase.

I agree with you there.
Someone once mentioned UD has become less about defying convention and more about “commercialized glam rock”.
I look forward to what comes out of this collab.

This is the best collaboration,it makes total sense!Gwen Stefani has amazing and unique personal style.I can’t wait to see this collection.I really loved the Nail polishes she did with OPI??.So excited.

This excites me!!! Hopefully, it delivers some really innovative and interesting shades of lipstick and eyeshadow! Even though all I ever see her wearing is a neutral toned winged eyeliner eye look and red lipstick, I’m hoping for more than that….Harijuku inspired would be cool! (I’m pretty sure I spelled that wrong! )

I like the idea of this, but I feel like overall, Gwen isn’t known for extreme or “out-there” looks. Definitely a red lipstick (but how many red lipsticks do we already have?), a liquid liner (maybe Perversion as a “re-promote”) and a neutral shadow palette. I can see potential for brighter, more unique things from some of her music videos, but I don’t see that actually happening. I’ll have to wait and see what comes out, but I don’t see myself getting anything if it is very basic, even though Gwen is awesome and I adore UD.

I know everyone’s saying this is just going to be a nude eye palette and red lip type collection, but I hope they do more. When I think of Gwen I think of much more than that. I associate her with bright bold colors and I hope that’s what they do. The two of them together is like a blast from the past and I hope this collection is that. Bright, bold, rainbow colors. What the brand used to put out. It’d please long time fans of the brand and maybe get them out of their neutrals only rut…

Fingers crossed. I remember when Enigma PP came out, a lot of us were saying we wish UD would do a collaboration with Gwen. Gwen has such impeccable style and she really does take a hand in her products. She doesn’t just stick her name on things. This could be great! We’ll see some awesome red lipsticks, that’s for sure! Gwen usually does neutral eyes, but we’ll see.

I hope they just don’t pull up a bunch of existing colors and repackage it. Though with Gwen, the packaging might be worth it.

I’m reserving judgment until I see the collection, however, the stuff released under her name via OPI was pretty pedestrian, albeit nice enough colors. I did only buy them because they had been put on clearance, though.

But, maybe she and Wende went all nostalgic and we’ll get recreations of some of UD’s 90s stuff. That be kinda neat.

This sounds like it could be awesome… and I find that terrifying! LOL With other holiday selections already available, and having purchased two already, this might have me feeling regretful. Sigh… I suppose I could exchange one of the sets/palettes I have for this one if everything that’s been released so far pales in comparison. (Though it may not sound like it, I’m actually hoping this creates a disturbance in the Force!)

LOVE her, met her, and she is a sweetheart. If this was going to be in true Gwen fashion, it’ll have black liners, golds, pinks, red lips… she is anything but boring but her makeup is pretty consistently simple. I’m ok with that!

Might not be a look for everyone but I’ll be paying attention to this one!

Gwen Stefani has been part of pretty much my entire life! I grew up listening to No Doubt and when she performed with the Harajuku Girls. I’ve loved her perfumes, fashion line, music, you name it! I really miss all the stuff she used to do with the Harajuku Lovers line, and I wish she’d do more of those things again.
