Urban Decay Stoned Vibes Palette + Dior Palettes (x2) Swatches
Urban Decay Stoned Vibes Palette ($54.00) is a new, limited edition palette with nine shimmery eyeshadows and three matte eyeshadows. As a FYI, the brand stated that the shimmery eyeshadows are to be applied with fingertips, so swatches are done with fingertips for reference. The press package only included the palette, so while I’ve purchased the eyeliners and the highlighter, it’ll probably be a week or longer before they actually arrive!
I bought two more Dior 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palettes ($62.00) when they came into stock, so here are swatches of those two additional palettes while we’re here. Happy Sunday!
Dior Tutu is so very “me”! Love the soft purple/lavender vibe.
Stoned Vibes seems to have that lovely melted metallic thing going on with most of the shimmer shades. But I’ll wait for your verdict on it before getting too excited over it.
I really wanted to love this, but those swatches…UD, what are you even doing?
Very underwhelming.
Agreed…I wasn’t really interested in this anyway but I thought maybe if the color payoff was decent I might indulge. The swatches are definitely underwhelming indeed. $ saved…
I really like Dior Tutu. As for Stoned Vibes, finger-tip application is NOT my favorite way to apply eyeshadow, as my eyes are quite small: I would reach for brushes first regardless. WHAT is Urban Decay up to?
Fingers are a no go for me. I have small eyelids and it will be too messy. And then I would have to get up and wash my hands. Not worth it.
I have small lids too (and big fingertips). I’ve found that usually what is labelled as ‘finger application’ works well also with the small sponge applicators. That kind of cheap blush that everyone seems to dislike… But they are a great alternative to the fingertips
Thank you so much for the UD Stoned Vibes swatches! I’ve been super curious about this one.
I don’t mind applying eyeshadow with my fingertip, especially since these shimmer looks more like a topper.
These swatches, while is disappointing, I think I can still somewhat make these work. The packaging is seriously one of the most beautiful I have ever seen in my life. I would say, 5/8 of the jewel tone shades look pretty awful, even as shimmer toppers, while 3 of them looks decent enough. Bloodstone looks much better in swatch then in pan. Then Raw Energy is just the biggest disappointment in this whole palette. The matte are questionable… which is almost unacceptable at this point… You would think a brand that has been around for as long as UD would not mess up simple, usual shades like these…
Still, this will be on sale soon enough, and I may grab is just to have something pretty sitting on top of my vanity…
I hope you are right, 54 €/$ are too many for me, waiting for sales, hoping it won’t go sold out before then!
I have been curious about the UD Stoned Vibes palette. I really like the swatches but finger application is a no go for me. I have long fingernails and it’s really a pain (Literally) trying to use my fingers to apply anything (because stabbing my own eyes is so much fun!). Oh well. Money saved!
I was not interested in the UD Stoned vibes palette until I saw it in store today at Ulta. The packaging is so pretty, and the shadows are more than I expected them to be. I refuse to pay full price for it, but if it goes on sale I could be swayed!
I’m sorry. I know Stoned was in the works for a long time before the pandemic hit, but finger application? During Covid? I know everyone with half a brain would be hand washing like crazy, but some won’t. The timing could not be much worse. The pans themselves look wonderful.
Pretty when you do it. Love your application and the look of the palette. I need to think about this as I don’t do finger applications. Could learn though.
I always use fingers for metallics so that aspect doesn’t bother me in the slightest. These swatches have brought my initial excitement for this palette down to a nope! The only shade swatched that really draws me in is Vibes, but I don’t need a whole palette for one shade.
That Dior Tutu palette is lovely!
The UD Stoned palette – nothing really excites me here and the fact that you are expected to use your fingertips to apply the shadows leaves me cold. Without my glasses on to apply them, it would easily end up a mess.
The Dior quints – very pretty, especially Tutu. I think Grand Bal is a little under pigmented and the shades could easily all look the same on the eye.
Heya Christine was just curious as to if you’ll be doing your ratings of A, B etc. with this palette/collection? I just find your ratings hugely beneficial as to whether to purchase a product that’s all 🙂
I’m curious as to how well the Stone Vibes palette performs. I may pick this up. Love the eye looks! The shimmers look real pretty.
I watched someone do an eye look using a brush with the stone vibes palette and it was STUNNING. The brush seemed to work perfectly fine with the shimmers.
Tutu looks quite pretty.
In the few video reviews I’ve seen, Stoned looks much better on the eyes than it does swatched, I’m curious to see what you’ll think about it.
Unless I’ve missed it, I wonder why the UD palette is not on Sephora’s website?
I believe it was announced as an Ulta exclusive.
All other retailers will have it 9/20!
I think the swatches look incredible for the UD palette!
Am I reading the back of the palette correctly — Made in Korea? Are you kidding? UD was always made in the USA, even if the brush was Made in China. So disappointed in UD. Thanks for nothing, L’Oreal.
I bought the Stoned Vibes…it’s right up my alley. Going to pick it up today at Ulta over lunch. :o) Best part was using my Ulta points for half of it!
Stoned is a bit nicer than I was expecting , can’t wait to see the lip glosses and the eyeliners .
The palette swatches nice, and obviously the packaging is nice….but that is not a color story for me.
I picked up the Stoned palette at Ulta yesterday and no regrets so far! It’s honestly the first UD palette that’s excited me for a LONG time, plus, I love the purple-plummy shades for my green eyes. The shimmery shades are sparkly, but it’s not that chunky glitter junk. I don’t like finger application either but they’re right, it goes on much better that way than with a brush.
