Dior Jungle (579) Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Jungle (579)
Dior Jungle (579) 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palette ($65.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a new, earthy color story featuring three metallic eyeshadows, one satin eyeshadow, and one matte eyeshadow. The five shades complemented each other, and they were high quality: pigmented, blendable, finely-milled, and long-wearing.

Jungle #1
Jungle #1 is a rich, coppery brown with warm undertones and a bright, metallic finish. It had intense pigmentation with a creamy, smooth consistency that was dense without being overly firm or thick. The eyeshadow applied well to bare skin with good adhesion and blended out readily along the edges. It wore well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview
-
The formula is supposed to have a "creamy and comfortable texture" that is long-wearing and has "intense color" (or "high-pigment"). There are five finishes that can be found within various palettes: matte, satin, shimmer, metallic, highlighter, and glitter, though there aren't specific descriptions by finish, unfortunately.
There were a few shades that seemed more sparkly and were sheerer, more like layering shades, while the other finishes tended to be pigmented. In general, the texture was moderately dense with the matte shades being slightly thinner and a smidgen powdery in the pan compared to the satin, shimmer, and metallic shades.
Aside from those more sparkly shades, the formula was blendable, pigmented, easy to work with, and lasted an average of eight hours on me (without a primer).

Jungle #2 is a light gold with moderate, warm undertones and an intense, metallic finish. It had rich color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly to bare skin and blended out well along the edges. The consistency felt smooth, soft, and yielding while being a denser and creamier formula. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before showing signs of fading.

Jungle #3
Jungle #3 is a muted, medium-dark taupe-brown with subtle, warmer undertones and a satin finish. It had opaque color payoff with a soft, blendable consistency that wasn’t too firmly nor too softly pressed into the pan. I had no trouble applying the product to bare skin and blending it out for an even result. It lasted well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Jungle #4
Jungle #4 is a brighter, light yellow-green with warmer, more olive undertones and flecks of pink sparkle paired with a metallic finish. The texture was dense, lightly creamy, and slightly thicker compared to the other shimmers in the palette, but it wasn’t heavy or difficult to pick up with a dry brush.
I think that thickness helped to keep the sparkles from falling out over time. It wore nicely for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

Jungle #5
Jungle #5 is a blackened forest green with neutral-to-cool undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had excellent pigmentation with a soft, blendable texture that was a smidgen dusty in the pan but didn’t have fallout during application nor did it sheer out too readily. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Wow! That is one good looking palette. Too dark for me but gosh if it wasn’t… take my money!
I’m sorry, I just can’t pay over $60 for a quad, even Dior. I only purchase these when Sephora local has the great summer sales and you can buy it at 60% or more off. And definitely these colors soooo duped! Nice pigmentation though.
Such a beautiful offering from Dior. I’ve bought four now and I’m tempted by another two at least – they are all so well curated and wear wonderfully.
Man, do I love this quint! I love that one can take it greener or more rose-gold and taupe. The quality is *muah!* perfection!
Gorgeous but not sut about w my eye color.
THIS is the one I’m most excited about (though that greened black isn’t a shadow I’m wild about). I have dupes for almost all the shades (except the golden green one, which is the one I love most and it surprises me that I don’t have any of the listed dupes). So while I can manage without this, don’t need this, I still want it a lot and may break down and get it if my will-power collapses.
Wow – this is so much better than I thought it would be. I love the colour story, but wish the darkened green shade was a little lighter and in a satin finish.
Dior does the metallics really well and the beautiful gold shade pairs perfectly with all the others.
Love your eye look too.
I feel the same about that blackened green. For some reason, this really puts me in mind of the Bonne Etoile 5 pan even though the shades are all so different…it’s more that autumn “vibe”. I thought #1 would be really close to the brown in the Celebrate in Gold palette; they look so much alike in their pans. But they’re nothing alike.
Gorgeous! Nice to see Dior’s quality is back!
This is a nice fall color story.Looks like Autumn foliage. Loving the gold, green and copper shades. If I can catch a good deal I’d pick this one up.
This is gorgeous. I’m so glad they went with a blackened green instead of black.
I see very beautiful looks, using CHANEL Empreinte Du Désert and Dior Jungle 579
Wow, that is gorgeous. These colors are perfect for me. I’m trying to limit myself to one new palette for fall and I think this is the one.
As things stand now (September 10), THIS is the only one from this collection that I really want. The others that you’ve reviewed so far haven’t created even a blip in my heart rate but this one is pulling on my heart-strings! I think New Look might also be in the running but I’m waiting for your review before I take the leap.
I just picked this up today (and learned I had enough points at The Bay to knock $30 off the price). This is SO beautiful. I had nothing more exciting planned than a walk to return books to our local library but I swiped on #3 (I was already wearing #3 from the Celebrate in Gold/2020 New Years/Festive quint…ha, little did we know how little there would be to “celebrate”) and the taupe of that palette and the cool brown of this one worked so nicely together (not that anyone except a harried librarian saw me!).
Happy to hear you were able to get it, Mariella!
